Note 4 wont respond at all - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,
I received the phone couple days ago and while its not new its in pretty good shape, i think. So when i started using the phone i noticed that there was a lot of lag waking it from sleep after extended times of inactivity so i decided to factory reset. The day after everything seemed fine with one incident where i left the phone for like 30min - 1hr and it took 10-15 min to wake up. The following morning i woke up and the phone lagged again for prob the same amount of time however the next morning i.e. today i wasn't getting anything after 30 min so waited another 30 min and realized something is wrong so i attempted the hard reset and other tricks (take out battery and hold power button[1min,2min or 3min], hold vol+/-, the home button and then the power button) but nothing happens on or off the charger, no LED, nothing....
Please help!

I suggest you return the device if you can.
Seems like Your device is hard bricked or maybe motherboard has some serious issues
Try connect to computer see if pc detects the device.
Try another battery maybe battery is dead
If you able to go into download mode then flash stock firmware with pit file.

Well, when i tried plugging it into the computer the only notification i get is the sound of the device being plugged in but the Note doesn't respond and nothing comes up on the computer.
As for another battery i dont know where i can get one to test it.
I cant go into download mode; the screen doesnt turn on, no led, nothing. Its like somebody poisoned the phone in its sleep, it is really bizarre for phone to die like this because you think u would see some signs

Phone is hard bricked and motherboard is almost dead.
You can still bring back to life if you able to find a debrick.image for your model in xda
Its complicated and need patients to do it
If you have enough knowledge then do it or otherwise you have to replace entire motherboard.

Major help needed !!!!!

I restarted my phone this morning because it was going really slow. so after I restarted my phone like I always do, it stayed at the ericsson splash screen and won't go past that. So then as many ideas come to mind, I tried reinstalling my rom (CHT WM 6.5, which i'm willing to share the link and all that for those who wants it), after it finished installing, it just stayed at the gray screen and did nothing. so after that, I tried HARDspl it once more to see if that was the issue. Tried it, but nothing happened. so once again I turned off my phone and then tried to turn it on. here's the funny part. I can't even turn my phone on anymore and I don't know why. I tried pluging it in to the charger, the lights didn't even go on....
I think I bricked my x1.
PLEASE HELP !!!! I DON"T KNOW HOW TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
I've only had this phone for a month, and there's already been so many problems with it. It's a big request, but I really would ask if someone can teach me how to reverse and fix my problem.
I would suggest you to charge your battery for a night, then reflash with a stock rom using Micro SD method to start everything again
try a hard reset ..
Guys
I've tried both methods, and my phone still has no reaction.
right now I have my phone right beside me. the red light is still on even though my battery is in.
What other things could I do?

As stated, recharge the phone overnight and see if it doesn't turn on in the morning.
I've tried that but then it still doesn't work. I used the orginial charger + usb to charge last night ( directly plugged in to the wall socket, not through a power bar or anything like that ). when I woke up this morning, I tried turning on the phone and it still doesn't turn on. but then when I plug it into my computer, the red light turns on at the power button. the computer still can't recognize my phone as a valid device.
does that mean I have to give up to send my phone back to sony to be fixed??
should I just give up and send it back to sony to get it fixed?
I even called into to sony to ask for help...when I asked about the software, they just said send it back in to let their "professional" technicans to look at it.
I broke the screen on my old w810i and it costed me 80 dollars to fix...I only wonder how much it'd cost them to replace my battery and reset the software...
This is a very sad day for another very big sony ericsson fan....
Your phone probably ran out of battery, or at least that's what the red light means.
This is what I did before - remove the battery, then plug the phone in directly into the wall charger, and then slap the battery back in and wait for about 10 minutes. Usually the USB (computer) doesn't charge enough for it the wake.
i've tried doing that too.
generally I charge my phone through the wall charger.
and the whole time i've been trying to solve this issue i've kept only using the wall plugins to charge my phone.
i'm guessing as well as you are that my phone's probably out of battery + maybe the battery is unbalanced as well.
i think the main issue above the power not working is some how one of the .nbh that i have tried is corrupted. as far as my wm + computer knowledge goes, I don't have much of a clue how to back track to fix the software issues.
hi all..
first of all, it's -for sure- runing out of battery.. it has to be charged anyway..
I had your issue before with my old universal -JasJar-,, it had a red light all the time.. trying to turn on.. even after a time in charger,, still dosent make a sence !!
after all my searchs I tryid another battery from a shop- just for testing the devieces in there.. and..guess what ..
it just worked out !!
just try another battery..
it might-i'm not sure- that both our issues were related to the- the internal backup device battery- by someway making all of this when the main battery is out of order !! ..
waiting for your sucessfull results then
that's great to hear. I'll definitely update everyone on that battery issue as soon as I can get into a store to get a battery test.
SO, here's another thing, IF by any chance my phone turns on, what in the world could I do to get my phone to not "malfunctioned" anymore? would I just do a full reset on it and everything should be alright again? by full reset i mean pressing the soft reset button and the two silver buttons in front of the phone.
If it does turn on again, let it fully charge before you try to flash another ROM onto it. I'd probably flash the R3 ROM before I'd switch it to anything else, just to be sure that the phone is fully operational.
thanks for the advice. i'll definitely keep that in mind when I am about to do anything with the phone again.
hey everyone! I just got to a rogers store today about my x1.
so here's what will happen.
they'll send me a brand new x1 in about 3 to 5 business days. in return, i'll have to send the phone that I have had back to them so that they can see if it can be fixed or not (which i have strong confidence that they can't).
if it can be fixed, they'll tell me how much it cost.
if i pay for that cost, then i can keep my new phone. if I don't want to pay that cost, then i'll have to send that brand new x1 back to them.
I'm praying hard that they won't be able to fix that phone so I can keep the new one for free!!!!!
finally the x1 arrived!!!!!
so now hopefully it will stay working and then rogers won't charge me for the new replacement that they sent me!!!

SGS *Completely* dead

Hello.
I'll get straight to the facts.
I had my phone rooted with Odinv3 using "busybox" (is all i can see on my downloads).
I then went to update to Gingerbread today, but didn't realise I had to un-root the phone!
So this made the phone keep refreshing the samsung galaxy S screen.
I then went to reboot to stock using this thread. Said it passed etc.
Now my phone is completely dead. It won't turn on. Nothing at all when i get it into download mode. No lights turn on. Odin *does* recognise it when I plug it in, the yellow box lights up.
The computer makes a noise to recognise that somethings been plugged in.
But alas nothing on the phone. I've left the battery out and tried it in but nothing.
What can I do please?! I am stuck here. And fear i just have wasted a great sum of money...
Will I be able to take it back on warranty? I haven't had it long, 3 months or so. Would they recognise it has been rooted despite it being put back to stock software.
Thanks. Daniel
You are a bit unclear, can you get download mode with 3 button combo?
Sent from my GT-I9000
tried many times to remove and replace the battery worked for me
sorry for the google translation
I managed to get into download mode by doing a 3 button combo earlier, can't remember what it was but I had to hold three buttons *THEN* fit my battery. THen it went into download mode. I can't remember which combo it was though as i've tried loads before and they didn't work!
It won't do anything now though.
Could i have booted it with a wrong ROM and that's why it won't load?
How come Odin picks it up and it goes through that passing etc?
THis si so annoying.
Volume down/power/home hold til galaxy s logo then release a yellow logo should appear

Sorry for opening an old thread. But i have aproximately the same problem with one exception:
Odin won't regognize my phone.
I was just in the process of installing this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136449
It got to the first step: "DO NOT POWER OFF DEVICE!!".. and then nothing. Sat there for 15 minutes untill i unplugged it.
shut down the phone using the power button, but now.. its completely dead.
This was offcourse before I realized i had just tried to install a ROM for SGS.. not SGSII.
So.
Odin doesnt recognize the phone.
The phone won't turn on, no matter what I do.
Nothing happens when I try to charge the phone.
I've tried pulling the battery several times, but its just .. dead.
However, when I plug in the battery, the phone seems to get hot. Not very hot, but just slightly above 25 degrees (aprox).
I'm afraid i've f*cked up big time, and have to send it in for a repair..
Anyone have a tip of what I can do ?
(Yes, the battery is charged - not empty).
Have you tried going into download mode again? does the screen power up at all?
My advice is try to leave the battery out for 15-30 minutes, then try getting into Download mode again, with the USB cable already plugged in and ODIN running on your machine.
See if ODIN can detect it and work from there... May be better than nothing. Hope this helps.

Did you know how to flashing the rom (via CWM) ? You have to notice your battery percentage first.
What exactly were you flashing? CF-root? where did you get it from?
I had the battery out through the night and tried again this morning.. didnt work..
It SEEMS to be completely dead.. (with exception from that the cpu gets hot when battery is plugged in.. )
I tried flashing this:
http://www.multiupload.com/6QNW8P7DTY
I came as far as "Setting PIT file.." "DO NOT TURN OFF" in odin, and then everything stopped.
The battery was at 70% when i started the process.
The phone have only been on for about 20 minutes since.

[Q] N7000 Does NOT turn on or charge or response.

Hi,
First of all, thank you for reading this thread.
I'm pretty sure I am dealing with totally hard bricked phone but I thought I might try and see if there is anything else I can do with my phone issue.
I have GT-N7000 (AKA Note 1) and had it for quite awhile approximately for 3-4 years. I was texting on my phone and it suddenly reset it self. Then it was stuck on that GT-N7000 logo. So I decided to turn the phone off and change the battery. After that, the phone doesn't turn on anymore.
So here are some details.
1. Phone does not turn on (Yes, it doesn't even show Samsung logo, screen stays black and nothing turns on).
2. Phone does not go into recovery mode or download mode.
3. I have 4 other spare batteries fully charged with separate battery charger - Tried them all and phone still doesn't turn on.
4. Tried connect phone to wall charger and PC via USB cable - Phone doesn't show anything and stays not turned on & PC doesn't recognise the phone.
5. I left the phone with battery off for 1-2 hours and tried to turn it on - Doesn't turn on.
I am assuming that I am not dealing with faulty screen but guessing that one of phone's IC chip or even processor is *Dead*.
Is there anything else that I could try that might worth a try?
Once again, thank you for reading this and hope to hear from anyone's input

Thanks you for your reply.
I had CM rom which I can't remember what it was unfortunately now...
Yes the phone used to go random reset on me when the phone was on both stock rom and custom rom. Probably it was sign saying that the phone was gonna die,. LOL.
So basically, I have given up on the phone, its dead and probably gonna need to change some sort of chip on the motherboard..
Now I have another GN with be and this time its 7000B instead of just 7000... pain to install philz on this bloody thing.
Again, thank you!

Tried some solutions i found on the internet like holding vol down + power button for more than 2 minutes, and nothing.
I really need some help here guys, PLEASE.
The phone was running latest TITAN PRIME ROM 1.1 dev3
Everything will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

That is bad...
I have see it before, and noting works
The last time the guy try to turn on his phone every day, one day he get it...
But from the process that he describe the phone just stuck like yours and it need to completed empty the battery or unplugged it.
If open the phone is not a option, is need to let the phone that way and every day, he try this:
Plug in the charger, after 2 minutes he try turn it on by holding the power button for 2 min.
after that no success, he unplugged the charger and, try the next day.
And after 2 - 3 days he turn it on... i don't remember if was only 2 min maybe try 5 min on charger.
Is very slow and not completed a solution because it may not work, but for now is the only option after what you tell me.
don't leave the charger on for more then 5 min if is really need to empty your battery will take time and every charge minute will take longer.

Is there a link to that "solution"?
I think its really strange i mean everything i have read about this topic of people having the same issue, it happened when their battery hit the 0%, and most of them got a solution, but mine was fully charged.
Im scared right now, the phone has...1 month, 2 at the most.

[Q] Sony Xperia Z1 - Completely dead (no led/no nothing)

Hello.
Please take your time to read this message.. It contains detailed information about this case...
I have a broken Z1 phone which I'm trying to fix. It all started with the phone turning off randomly, and wasn't possible to turn it back on. Not using the power button/red reset button or using power + volume up together (this worked previous times).
When the screen died, I could see white blocks of pixels moving around a few seconds before it completely shut down. There were no signs of life after that, the LED was completely dead as well. The computer didn't notice the device if I connected it with a USB cable. If I tried to charge the phone, the LED wouldn't turn red.
I decided to wait for a week in order to see if the battery could run out of charge. So after a week I took the USB cable and started to charge it. The LED turned back on, with a red color, which is correct when it is charging.
I thought it would work to boot - but nope, it did not work at all. Now is the time I decided to open up my device. I used a heat gun to heat the back edges of the phone. I then used some palastic tool to open the back cover from the phone. It all went very smooth and I disconnected the battery from the phone (removed the cable from the motherboard).
I let it be for about 10 minutes. After that I inserted the cable back to the motherboard, and tried to boot. This time, nothing happend again.. So I started to charge it, and a screen came up saying 1% battery... So I let it charge the battery for a few hours until it rached 100%.
The battery is now 100% charged. The phone still refuses to boot up the first time. The second time I tried, it worked. I was able to connect my phone to my computer, so I took a backup of all files. I downloaded Sony PC Companion, and made a factory reset. This went very smooth as well.
I thought everything was fixed after this - but nope. The phone randomly shuts down a few times, and each and every time, I'm just starting it again (it did crash both when I was using it, and when I did not). I was speaking on the phone with it yesterday for 1 hour (used a bluetooth device), without the back cover connected to the phone. The call went very good and the phone didn't crash anymore that evening.
I thought everything was good, once again. So I was letting my phone be powered on during the night when I was sleeping. When I woke up, I went to check the phone - and it was: dead.
Since this, I have not been able to power it on again. No matter what I do. I have tried to disconnect the battery, check for cables that aren't fixed and so on.. But everything seems to be OK.
My thought was that the battery was bad, so I went to a store in order to check if the battery is OK or not. They tested the battery with some kind of device, and said it has about 40% charge left.. And they didn't see any issues with it.
So... now I'm wondering, what kind of parts do I need in order to fix my phone? Is it just a new battery, or is it the whole motherboard that is gone? What do you think? I know you guys are very experienced, so I have high hopes of help from you.
Regards
Hello!
Sorry to hear about what happened to your Z1, I'm currently in the state that my phone has a red LED when connected to anything and stays like that, PC doesn't even recognize it.
I see your problem is different, I'd suggest you to start here and hope for the best. Unfortunately I can't do that to my phone because PC is not recognizing my device.
Good luck

Download Sony PC Companion, plug in your phone and follow the instructions in order to reset your phone. If that doesn't work, then you have probably had water or some other hardware failure.
Is this problem will cost me a lot of money if I'll bring it back to Sony for them to repair?

Not if you repair via Sony PC Companion. It will re-install the system on the phone, so in case it is a software error, it will be fixed.
However, if that doesn't help, then you need to check if you have any warranty valid on your phone. Even if you have warranty, it is not sure that Sony will cover costs for repairing your device. For example water damages will most likely be refused, and you'll have to pay for it yourself. I don't know how much it would cost though.
