Sounds to me like you're covering the proximity sensor, all depends on how you're going about using the apps. be a little bit more careful not to cover the sensor and you'll soon figure out how to work around it. It's fairly sensitive to be honest.
Also, if you use screen protector. That will also block proximity sensor too.
Phone thinks, like, you are holding phone on your face, soo turn off screen, to prevent miss touch any button.
Proximity sensor is at upper right position. You will see that two point. One of them is ambiance sensor for calculate screen brightness, other one is proximity sensor.

Strange problem on my new moto x (Android 4.4.4. stock rooted w/ xposed, gravity box, xgels if that matters)...
Incoming calls -
if the phone is NOT in my pocket (or is face up) when the call is received, the screen wakes up and shows the person calling :good:
if the phone IS in my pocket, when the call is received, the phone will wake up once i take it out of my pocket, i can hear it ringing, but it stays on the active display lock screen. If i unlock the active display screen, i can then see the incoming caller ID / caller picture.
Is there any work around? I would expect the screen would always wake up on inbound calls and show me who is calling...
Thanks!
OK - figured it out. If you use gavity box, don't let it control your proximity sensor or at least tell it to ignore it on incoming calls Working properly now!

Thanks man I was about to factory reset! You saved me
I'll be on a call and the other person will suddenly be unable to hear me. This happens with stock and Pure Nexus (running on both elemental and shamu). It doesn't happen regularly. It hasn't happened in weeks, but yesterday it happened twice on one phone call and once on another. I can fix it during the call if I mute and unmute the phone on the display. When the phone mutes itself, the display control doesn't show that mute is active, only I after I press it and "activate" it.
I used to think it might have been my face pressing against the screen, but that can't be it as the screen is off while I'm talking. In order to fix it during a call, I have to turn the screen on first. Has anyone else had this problem?
I had this problem and found call screen lock in the play store (which solved it). It turned out I was somehow tapping mute with my face while on the phone after not tripping the proximity sensor...
It only happened rarely, but you can tell if you might be doing this if your screen occasionally wakes up while on the call without being pulled away from your face (the proximity sensor thinks it is not close to you face intermittently).
is there any way to configure fingerprint sensor or any physical button to receive incoming call???can it do by installing any exposed or anything?? I badly need it.I have a problem with touch screen.sometimes touch screen stop working and it occurs randomly. In that time I can't receive any call but fingerprint, and all physical button works fine.
Recently I have not been able to use or see an on-screen keypad when I am using Android auto for phone calls during the call. I can get to the screen that is shown in my picture but there is no place to press a key pad during the call or an option for hanging up the call. Anyone else have this problem where can tell me how to fix it?
I usually initiate phone calls by telling Google to call a certain person.
Update: Well after a quick Google search I found that it was the Samsung car mode app that was interfering. So I uninstalled it and everything is fine. Let's just leave this here in case anyone else has the issue.
