HELP! Mangled USB port, Boots to Bootloader, and can't reflash using SD

WTF... I had one of our VP's bring me his Tilt and the thing is just booting to the bootloader screen and says Serial at the bottom.
KAIS1*0 MFG
SPL-1.0.OliPof
CPLD-8
But that's not all... When I plug in a USB cable it changes the 'Serial' to 'USB'. However, the USB plug on the bottom of the phone is mangled up with bent pins, so I'm not even sure it's making proper contact. I've tried straightening them out the best I can, but they still look slightly bent to me. Anyway, here's what I've tried.
1. If I reboot the phone without the USB cable it goes straight into bootloader mode (I see a quick "missing image file" message or something like that then the red/grn/blue screen).
2. If I reboot the phone WITH the USB cable connected it boots up fine into Dutty's ROM, but it never makes an ActiveSync connection. Like the PC doesn't see it.
3. I copied a new ROM (named it KAISIMG.nbh) to the SD card and followed the instructions posted by vip_snoopy. But when it goes into the bootloader, it won't load the new ROM (nothing happens at all).
4. I downloaded MMTY, but when I launch that application, it doesn't give me the USB option even though the phone is connected and I see USB at the bottom of the bootloader screen. Arrrgh!!!
This sux! Trust me, I've searched this forum, Googled and found some posts related to this, but nothing has worked and I can't find a solution. With the mangled USB connector and the phone not letting me load a new ROM via the SD card, it seems I'm stuck. I'd like to get this phone back to the point where I can at least attempt a warranty return. Either that, or fry it out so they can't see the Oli SPF or ROM installed. At least then I can tell them the motherboard died or the device is fried or something...
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, I'll rip this thing apart and use the screen, keyboard, etc. for spare parts. Luckily this is a work phone so it's nothing out of my pocket. Although, it sux b/c I had to give my Tilt to the VP and now I'm temporarily using my old Treo 700w (yuck!) until I can get a replacement.
Thanks!
same proble with 2 different TILTs
both device are AT&T TILT, no problem with miniUSB connector.
Both devices are with original ROM
R 1.27.12.11
G 22.45.88.07H
D 1.57.00.00
when turning on bootloader, the serial appears, and while connecting the cable it turns to "USB" but no sync or USB recognition.
I unistalled and installed the activesync 4.5 and have no proble syncing other devices. (no driver problems)
did anyone heard about this problem?
many thanks!
I have a friend that got a Tilt and within a couple of days the pins inside the mini usb were messed up. He had to have it exchanged. Also, somewhere around here there is a thread because this is a known issue. I think your VP used a car charger or something.

must have been me....
@egypt 123: But what you describe is exactly what happened to my tilt. I did manage to reflash the thing from the SD card tho before a warranty exchange took place.
It took me serveral tries to get it to flash from SD. so I thinking is must be either a *****y card or you didnt follow instructions exactly. My was the later.
Good Luck

[Q] Bricked Galaxy Mini black screen

I have a Galaxy Mini GT-5570 phone.
Last night I installed "ROM Manager" and tried to partition my SD card. It requires to reboot my phone and I confirmed that, so it shut down my phone. Then it can't boot anymore -- all I get is just a black screen!
Unfortunately, I read that ROM Manager can cause hard brick for Galaxy Mini lately...
I tried all possible solutions found in the Internet but nothing works. So I decided to try the USB JIG method as it can force my phone to boot to download mode. The point is that I can't find 300k resistor then can I try 330k or it's dengerous?
Is there another method to revive my phone back ??
Congatz for not reading all of the warning threads. Now you have a toy phone. SSC!
you now have a door stop lol
big mistake
take it to a service center immediately or you'll end with an expensive paperweight
I think you are trying to find a single 300k resistor which I think you may not get
Buy three different 100k resistor and connect them and try
I must say service centre is the best option if you are having warranty

But lol how can it be bricked just by trying to partition the SDCARD?!!

Need advice: Should I JTAG my device?

Okay, here's the deal..
A few months ago, an OTA screwed up my phone(dont ask). It got hard bricked and I had to JTAG the phone. Unfortunately, the guy who did the JTAG, probably didnt do it properly, he damaged some parts e.g. the camera wouldnt focus, the wifi range got extremely short etc. But the device worked...for 5 months or so without a hiccup. Until last week when the micro usb charging port failed and i took it to HTC Service Center to get it repaired. The port was repaired fine, but the phone went into bootloop and would be stuck on boot splash screen. I tested the bootloader by booting into it and found it was working fine, it was booting into recovery and everything. I decided to flash an RUU and set the device back, but before i could flash, when i put the device into bootloader, it blinked and went dead.
It wouldn't charge, it wouldn't boot...nothing.
So I took it back to HTC Service Center hoping that the battery was down or some reason but no..the guy said the motherboard is dead.
My question is, should I try to JTAG the motherboard again? Not from that guy, some other reliable person, but will it help?
I dont have warranty, so sending it in is out...
Will a right JTAG flash restart the phone or should I save the $35 I would have to spend on the JTAG?

[Q] Galaxy S3 4G USB Issue

Hello first time post and hope I can get some help here.
I have got a GS3 (I9305) to fix, the first problem was the screen, I had replaced that and got it out of the way. (It was replaced with a I9300 frame however if that could cause such a problem as the following).
After the repair, the imei number became null, the baseband became unknown and does not recognize the sim card when installed.
To fix this I wanted to follow some simple guides to repair the imei, or efs, whatever it was where I came across another problem, the device is not detected by any computer.
If I am to plug the phone into a computer, there is no recognition of it on the computer, no sound that a USB device has been connected. I have tried this with two different cables, one that came with a tablet, another with another phone. As well as trying these on three different machine all with the same result. I have tried with just the drivers installed, both downloaded from here as well as the Samsung site, nothing. Installed Kies and updated it, nothing.
On the phone itself I have gone in, tried connecting it with USB Debugging on and off, developer options both on and off, nothing as a result. I have gone into the phone utility and changed the settings to PDA/PDA/MTP+ADB and nothing.
I have tried connecting while the phone is in download mode and recovery mode, nothing.
The only thing that happens when I plug the phone in is the sound on the phone that it is charging, and that it is, it's only charging while not being recognized by the machine.
The phone not being detected by Odin and Kies has left me stuck, and I have been searching around the forums trying things to see if it would help with no change.
I hope that someone comes across this and can offer some help and potentially fix my problem, thanks in advance.
The I9300 frame is not a perfect fit for the I9305 board, and may short out important stuff.
Sent from my GT-I9305 using XDA Free mobile app
Yeah worked that out after I put it in :S
The USB issue is resolved, it was pressure or rather two screws in the back on the bottom right side (Looking from the back).
I thought of the whole shorting thing but isn't all the metal painted making that very unlikely?
When the board is out of the frame completely there is still the issue of no imei and an unknown baseband, I think the damage is done. Also looking around, I have been unable to find the .nv_data.bin file on the phone? It was never flashed at all so I find it strange that it is missing.

Rog phone 3 (Tencent edition) USB -C port charging but not recognized on my laptop.(Lenovo)

========================================
My rog phone 3 (tencent), which i brought about 6 months ago. I never had any issues like this.
The other day i opened my camera and suddenly the front camera was not working. I restarted the phone, did factory reset, cleared camera data, but nothing solved the issue. I thought i have to upgrade the firmware. So i downloaded the new firmware (2012.143) and connected the usb c cable with my laptop ( lenovo ideapad 320) , but it did not recognize. i tried both ports. I never had this problem before. I unlocked the bootloader, i thought it might help. I also turned on the developer option and selected FTP protocol and USB debugging. But it still didn't connect. while i was trying to enter bootloader recovery mode I accidently put the phone on EDL mode and now its bricked . The indicator light is flashing when i connect to the pc but the PC isn't recognizing the port ( i downloaded the qualcomm EDL driver on my laptop also, but the port option is not showing at all). Is it hardware problem, But the phone was charging just fine.
please suggest some help
Sounds like a hardware malfunction or damage to something on the board (burnt out microchip or resistor something along those lines) something a cell phone or repair shop could have fixed but.. it sounds like you bricked it in combination with the other issue which your best bet now is a new rog phone and sell your current one for parts or repair.. just because the cost to repair it would probably be more than what it is worth as it would require professional repair.

Bro my phone turned on, and it functioned normally, i didn't brick it, it was probably battery dead, i charged it for hours and it turned on.. But how do you fix a power IC that supply power from the battery . Is it the one in the (picture) , Because sometimes when it charge it gives only the green light and black screen.
Iam having an issue on debug. My bottom side is ok on getting debugged.. but my side port tends only to go in charging state.. mine not rooted or anything. Im just trying to downgrade firmware. any advise?
