Help with rootning 20.1.A.2.19 - Sony Xperia E1

Is there anyway to root this ?

Of course, just follow these easy steps and then enjoy your rooted android (If you don't understand something from the steps, google it or ask me.)
1. Unlock your Bootloader (you will need ADB and to factory reset after unlocking.)
-Type in Google "unlock sony bootloader" and click on first link.
-Select your device, click continue and enter your email address, you will need your IMEI of your smartphone, then you will receive your unlock key in your email address.
-After you did all of this, carefully read the instructions on Sony website and you will unlock your Bootloader in 1-5 minutes.
2. Now with unlocked Bootloader you can flash Philz custom recovery via ADB (with fastboot installed.)
-Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-e1/general/philz-touch-recovery-xperia-e1-t2941831 and download the recovery.
-Now put recovery.img who you downloaded in ADB/platform-tools
-Enable USB Debugging in Developer options.
-Connect your smartphone with USB and run ADB (to make sure you connected ADB, type "adb devices" and you should be able to see your device (if not, you did something wrong.)
-While in ADB, type this command: adb reboot bootloader (this will reboot in fastboot.)
-Now, when in fastboot mode, type this: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (the flash finish for 1 sec.)
-Type "fastboot reboot" while in fastboot, and your device should be ready with installed custom recovery.
-You can enter Recovery by power off your smartphone, then press: "Power" + "Volume UP".
3. Download Latest SuperSU (this is the root): https://download.chainfire.eu/1017/SuperSU/SR1-SuperSU-v2.79-SR1-20161221223537.zip
-Put the SuperSU.zip in your SD card.
-Boot in Recovery.
-Choose "Install Zip".
-Choose "Choose zip from /sdcard".
-Select your .zip file and tap on him.
-Choose "Yes".
-Choose "Reboot System Now" (Or if it does not show, then go back to main menu and choose it.)
Congratulations, you flashed SuperSU/root successfully.
If you have questions, ask me and I will answer when I can/see them.

Easiest way is have any recovery on your phone, doesn't really matter If you have Caio's kernel + TWRP, or the regular one PhilZ recovery
Download SuperSU from Google Play, when it asks you to update the binary tap on Yes, and when it asks you again how to update the binary, just tap on TWRP
On the next boot you will have root.

Just use kingroot and supersume to get supersu without computer. I use kingroot 4.5 because newest one doesn't work with supersume. good luck!

How to simply root FRF85B

Hi all,
Please how to simply root Nexus One?
This tutorial is to hard "
[Tutorial] Root FRF85B/FRF83/FRF72 (T-Mo/AT&T) Without Unlocking (100% Confirmed) "
No superboot.zip available for FRF85B?
Simply root = unlock bootloader. The second tutorial.
superboot.zip has nothing to do with the way of rooting. Rooting needs to bypass device protection to flash a non-certified update. So you either use exploits, or use the built-in protection override (fastboot oem unlock).
Depends on the status of your bootloader really.
If you want to keep it locked then that tutorial is your only hope.
I have unlocked bootloader but no superuser.apk and no Root privilege
About second Tutorial, we need linux....
If you have unlocked bootloader, what's the problem flashing pre-rooted FRF85B?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=714184
I have already flashing my Nexus with Unrooted version because i had signature problem with pre-rooted version.
Now to re-install pre-rooted FRF85 version i need Custom Recovery but I need root to install custom recovery...
No way to have superboot.bat to simply rooted my FRF85?
To install custom recovery you only need to flash it via fastboot, since your bootloader is unlocked.
You can also use ROOT_FRF83 file from the "difficult" thread, if I'm not mistaken.

Thank's for your reply.
I will install custom Recovery to flash with pre-rooted version.
I need wipe before flashing with pre-rooted version?
No wipe needed.
About Custom recovery :
Pre-Requirements :
- unlocked bootloader : How to unlock the bootloader.
- root access : Modaco's superboot.
I have install recovery-RA-nexus-v1.7.0.1.img without rooting my nexus and now I have exclamation mark with a little Android...
Ok, did some search for you. Next time try - search button, "FRF85 root".
Reflash the stock recovery back.
Then use this:
http://htcpedia.com/forum/showthread.php?p=67177#post67177
Under "ROOT".
i have re-flash with stock recovery 2 times but still exclamation mark with a little Android.
Ok i push "Vol+" and "power", stock recoveruy appear
apply sdcard:update.zip (update-nexusone-FRF85-root-sig.zip from HTC EPIA)
--> E:signature verification failed..
Installation aborded
What about ROOT_FRF83.ZIP - did you try?
ROOT_FRF83.zip is for locked bootloader... mine is unlocked.
As i see i need linux and to make this command to root my stock FRF85B..
16) Download the following to the root of your SDcard
- recovery-RA-nexus-v1.7.0.1.img: http://rapidshare.com/files/39326736...s-v1.7.0.1.img
- Note: UnMount your SDcard after copying these files, but keep your phone plugged in
17) In your terminal type "adb shell" and hit Enter
18) In your terminal type "su" and hit Enter
- Tip: At this point, it will hang until you choose "Allow" on your phone with the SuperUser app pop-up
- Tip: $ should now be replaced with #
19) In your terminal, type "mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system" and hit Enter
20) In your terminal, type "cat /sdcard/flash_image > /system/bin/flash_image" and hit Enter
21) In your terminal, type "chmod 775 /system/bin/flash_image" and hit Enter

ROOT_FRF83 is for ANY bootloader. It doesn't care about bootloader.
Download it to your SD card, rename to update.zip and apply. It might not work - in this case, you have nothing to do but to follow the other guide, or wait until someone makes FRF85B superboot for stock ROM and recovery.
The part you've quoted is way past the actual root. Read the thread again, the root ends much earlier.
You need to do steps 1-15, and you need no Linux.
I checked again in Paul's thread, STOCK to CM.
There is NO requirement for root to flash custom recovery through fastboot. Otherwise fastboot wouldn't help any in rooting - think yourself, you need root to flash recovery, and you need recovery to flash root?
Here's a quote from there:
- If you get a Triangle with a ! in the middle alongside an Android for 5+ minutes, you MAY have to remove battery and re-flash recovery (I had to do this once.) (Make absolutely sure that nothing is happening on your phone, as removing the battery when it's doing something can cause a brick.)
So you can try this one and flash AmonRa's recovery again. If it doesn't work, and it turns out that you need Modaco's superboot (which doesn't exist for your version) - then you're back to the second guide.
I have always triangle with a ! after removing batterie, AmonRa's recovery won't appear...
I will wait superboot from paul.

Step by Step how to get root from FRF85B stock (with unlocked bootloader) :
- Download AmonRa Custom Recovery and put it where google SDK, Tool folder, is installed.
- Download update-nexusone-FRF85-root-sig.zip and rename it update.zip and put it on the root of your SDCARD
1) Switch off the nexus
2) Hold the Trackball and Power button
3) fastboot devices (to make sure that fastboot "sees" your phone)
4) fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-nexus-v1.7.0.1.img
5) Don't reboot nexus! just chose "bootloader" from menu, after nexus reboot automaticly, chose recovery
6) AmonRa recovery appear!

Hey thanks!
I was having the exact same issue & I now have a cyan recovery & root access on the stock FRF85B

I am having trouble finishing the rooting of my HTC Desire 626s

I have posted the instructions bellow that I have been following.
1. I got the bootloader unlocked.
2. The fastboot flash recovery went through ok
3. Is were the problem is. The instructions say after flashing the img in place
it is time to open Cynogen Mod menu and flash in the SuperSU file. The
instructions say to reboot to bootloader > boot to recovery mode then hit the
power button. At this point the Cyanogen Mod recovery mode menu is
supposed to come up. And then navigate to were the SuperSU.zip file is.
The problem is that the Cynogen Mod menu never comes up. All I get is
the following picture bellow. Then the phone reboots to normal operating mode.
The phone works 100% but it still isn't rooted. I don't know how to fix this.
The boot loader screens aren't the same as I have seen in video turtorials that I
have seen. I can post those screen captures as well if needed.

Complete, detailed, step-by-step root procedure for HTC Desire 626s
Credits
- I did not come up with the procedure to root this phone - that work was done by member @hackvcs - I just put this guide together using the method that he developed (and using the custom recovery that he put together). Please give all credit to @hackvcs!!! Also, the links to the files below are not my links - they are links that other members provided (member who provided them is listed below).
Pre-requistes/Downloads:
- HTC Desire 626s phone
- Official TWRP Recovery Images: https://twrp.me/devices/htcdesire626s.html - Thanks @Captain_Throwback!
- Recovery images (custom CyanogenMod recovery and stock recovery image) - provided by @hackvcs (https://mega.nz/#!sp0wCThZ!MQVTq6y_8...hnaLRq8UiqLruQ)
-SuperSU binary .zip file - link provided by @mussio (https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU)
1. Unlock bootloader
- Enable "Unknown Sources" on your phone:
- Settings->Security: Check "Unknown Sources" checkbox
- Enable "Developer Mode" and enable "USB Debugging" and "OEM Unlocking" settings
- Settings->About->Software Information->More: Tap on "Build Number" 7 or more times until it tells you that Developer Mode is enabled.
- Settings->Developer Options: Enable "OEM Unlocking" and "USB Debugging" options.
- Actually unlock the bootloader by going to the HTCdev "Unlock Bootloader" website (www.htcdev.com/bootloader) and following the directions to unlock your bootloader. You will need to create an account on this website before being able to unlock the bootloader. I'm not going to provide step-by-step instructions for the bootloader unlock procedure since the HTCdev website already provides a step-by-step procedure. However, here are a few key notes regarding this procedure:
- The bootloader unlock procedure will reset your phone back to factory defaults. Make sure to backup anything that you need on the phone before unlocking the bootloader. You can optionally install the "HTC Sync Manager" (link provided on HTCdev website) to backup your phone before starting the process.
- In the "Select your device" box on the first screen of the bootloader unlock procedure, select "HTC Desire *" as the device type.
-If you are running the latest firmware on your phone, you do not need to worry about the phone update page when you first start the unlock process - just scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the "Proceed to Step 1" button to start the procedure.
- You will need to install Java if you don't already have it installed - there is a link to download Java right on the same page as the bootloader unlock procedure.
- You will need to download and install the fastboot binaries provided in step 4 of the bootloader unlock procedure. Unzip the fastboot.exe file included in the zip to a directory that you will use to root your HTC Desire 626s (I recommend creating a new directory for this - something like "C:\HTC626s") - later, you will also put the other files you need (recovery image file and SuperSU binary .zip file) into this same directory so that everything is in one place
2. Install custom recovery
Once you have successfully unlocked your bootloader, you will need to flash a custom recovery (TWRP recommended). This recovery image will replace the stock recovery on your phone and allow to flash the SuperSU binaries in the next step.
- Connect your phone to the PC via USB cable and let the PC install the necessary drivers for the phone.
- Power off phone
- Reboot the phone into "Download" mode:
- While holding the Volume Down button, press the device Power button. Continue to hold the Volume Down button until the phone boots into "Download" mode. To confirm that the bootloader is unlocked and that you are in "Download" mode, you should see the following two lines at the top of the screen:
- "hTC download mode"
- "*** Unlocked ***"
- Once you have confirmed that you are in download mode and the bootloader is unlocked, it's time to flash the custom recovery:
- Open a Command Prompt (aka DOS prompt) window and change to the directory where you put the fastboot.exe file. If using the recommended directory, you would type this command in the Command Prompt window to change to that directory:
- Type "cd \HTC626s" and press [ENTER]
- Make sure that the recovery file is in the same directory (type "DIR" and press [ENTER] to see the files in the current directory). If it is not in the current directory, put it there before continuing (via Windows Explorer). Also, I'd recommend renaming the recovery image to "recovery.img" - it makes typing the commands a little easier and reduces the likleyhood of a typo. So before continuing, you should have both "fastboot.exe" and "recovery.img" in the current directory.
-In the command prompt window, type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" and press [ENTER] - this will flash the custom recovery to your device.
3. Install SuperSU superuser binaries
Now that we have the bootloader unlocked and the CyanogenMod recovery installed, we are set to flash the SuperSU binaries to actually root the device. Before continuing, make sure that you have copied the SuperSU binary .zip file to the internal storage on your phone! Once we boot into CyanogenMod, you will have to navigate to this .zip file in order to install it. It MUST be on the *internal* phone storage (not on the MicroSD card).
- Reboot your phone into recovery:
- Power off the phone
- Power on the phone while holding the "Volume Down" button. Keep holding "Volume Down" until the phone boots into Download mode.
- Scroll down to "Reboot to bootloader" and press the power button.
- Once in bootloader mode, scroll down to "Boot to recovery mode" and press the power button. At this point, you should be in the CyanogenMod recovery menu.
- Scroll down to "Apply Update" and press the power button
- Scroll down to "Choose from internal storage" and press the power button
- Navigate to where you stored the SuperSU .zip file and select it - the SuperSU binaries will be installed on the phone.
-That should do it! You should now have a rooted HTC Desire 626s. Reboot the phone into Android and confirm that you have a SuperSU icon in your app drawer and then confirm that the device is actually rooted.

Root for stock nougat?

I was wondering if we have root for nougat? How do i root my device? Thanks!
http://forum.turkdevs.com/konu-general-mobile-4g-android-7-0-nougat-root-yapma.html check topic.
the forum is in turkish, can you please share how in english here? Thanks
To get root I flashed SuperSu which can be flashed via TWRP recovery only. There are 2 kinds of SuperSu: Systemless (installed as a normal apk in data folder) and System SuperSu (installed in system/app folder). Check this thread if you understan russian.
Otherwise just do the following steps:
1. Install ADB and Fastboot drivers
2. Enable "Android debugging" in developer options
download TWRP recovery
3. Open the commandpromt window and install TWRP using the following commands:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices (just to check the phone status)
fastboot oem unlock-go (all you data will be gone, so make a backup in advance)
fastboot0 erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (where recovery.img is TWRP file name)
4. Unplug the phone and remove battery. Place it back, press "Volume Up" и "Power" buttons.
5. Flash the desired SuperSu via TWRP.

Red Status bar for TWRP (OSPREY). FIXED!!!!

The TWRP red status bar is a small problem and easy to fix. It is caused mainly because you haven't accepted the 'Write permission" dialog box in the startup. In my case, I couldn't flash anything onto my phone and showed the message "FAILED" so i had done the following steps:
Before going into this. You have to make a backup of the files and apps on your phone. A working custom/stock ROM
Minimal ADB and Fastboot must be installed and the latest Motorola Drivers should also be installed.
1. Get a stock recovery, follow this link to get that: https://www.gammerson.com/2015/08/download-and-flash-stock-recovery-in-moto-g-3rd-gen.html
2.After flashing the stock recovery you have to boot onto your recovery. You will see the "No command" window. There you have to press Volume up+power button simultaneously for 5 or more times.
3.Click on Wipe data/factory reset.
4.After that boot onto your custom/stock rom. Finish the initial startup on your phone. Make sure that USB Debugging and USB Tethering is ON(Hotspot settings)
5.Now boot into fastboot mode.
6.Download the latest TWRP from: https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=11051#downloads and paste into the Minimal ADB folder which can be found in C://Program Files (x86)/Minimal ADB and Fastboot
7.Now in the cmd window. Type the following codes:
adb devices
which will show whether your device is properly connected to the PC or not
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
and voila TWRP will prompt you for the "Write Permission" once again, properly read it and swipe for confirmation. xD

How To Guide Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra Root Guide (No firmware download needed)

Welcome to my thread. Today I am going to teach you how to install a custom recovery on the device and how to recover the original boot files on the phone to modify them. After modifying those files you will have root on the device. A lot of time and effort has been put into getting this to work. The custom recovery that we will be using is TWRP Recovery.
Note: Modifying your device will void the manufacturer's warranty.
All modifications made to your device are done at your own risk and you claim full
responsibility if the device is damaged or if data is lost.
First, we are going to enable OEM Unlock and USB Debugging. To do so, you will follow the steps below.
1. Sign in to your Mi Cloud Account on your phone.
2. Tap the “Settings” menu on your Mi 11 Ultra, then tap the “About Phone” option.
3. Tap the “MIUI Version” option several times until you see the “You are now a developer” message.
4. Tap the “Additional Settings” Menu, then tap the “Developer options” on your phone.
5. Activate the “OEM Unlock” option, then activate the “USB Debugging” option on your phone.
6. Tap the “Mi Unlock Status” option.
7. Tap “Agree” and then tap the “Add account and device” option on your phone.
8. Turn off your phone, then press the volume down button and the power button simultaneously to put your phone into fastboot mode.
9. Connect your phone to your PC via a USB cable.
10. Download the miflash ZIP file.
11. Extract the miflash unlock tool ZIP file. You will find the Mi USB Driver.exe file and the miflashunlock.exe file after extracting it.
12. Install the Mi USB driver on your PC.
13. Run the miflashunlock.exe file on your PC.
14. Tap the Agree button and then Sign in with your Mi Account after running the miflash_unlock.exe.
15. Click the “Unlock” button, then click the “Unlock anyway” button within the miflash tool to start the process.
16. Click the “Reboot phone” button after you see the “Unlocked successfully” message.
Downloads:
Unlock tool: https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html
Additionally, we will need to have TWRP flashed to the recovery of the phone.
1. We will need to have ADB installed on the computer so download the 15 Second ADB Installer.
2. Run the ADB-Setup.exe.
3. Open a CMD terminal as an Administrator.
4. Type in the command: CD C:/ADB.
5. Type in the command: ADB Devices, make sure that there is a device showing up.
6. Download the TWRP.img to the ADB folder located on C:/ADB.
7. Make sure that you do not have a password or code lock on the device. There can not be any lock on the lock screen.
8. Type the command ADB Reboot Bootloader.
9. Type the command Fastboot Boot TWRP.img.
10. Navigate to the Advanced menu of TWRP and tap on “Install Recovery Ramdisk”.
11. Navigate back to the main menu then tap on Reboot and tap on Recovery.
Downloads:

TWRP image: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ztP266XjxteVk8pxcD7-sD-IxihmODPV?usp=sharing
Now we will copy the three boot files on the phone and make backups.
1. Navigate to Mount on the root menu or TWRP.
2. Select the System Partition and Data partition then go back to the menu.
3. Navigate to Advanced then Terminal.
4. Type the command dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/boot.img.
5. Type the command dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/boot_a of=/sdcard/boot_a.img.
6. Type the command dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/boot_b of=/sdcard/boot_b.img.
7. After all the commands have been entered you can now exit back to the system by rebooting to the system in the Reboot menu.
8. Next, we will install Magisk on the phone to modify the boot files, download the Magisk.apk file on your phone.
9. Open the apk and install the Magisk.apk on the device. You will have to enable Unknown Sources if you have not already.
10. Open Magisk and select install on the Magisk tab.
11. Under Method tap the Select and Patch a File and select the boot.img file.
12. Press the LET'S GO button after you have selected the file. (Make sure to note down the name of the Output file for each file).
13. Repeat steps 11 and 12 for boot file boot_a.img and boot file boot_b.img.
Downloads:
Magisk: https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases
Now we will flash the boot files to the phone and we will be rooted!
1. Copy the files you just made from the storage of the phone under /Internal shared storage/Download/(Filenames) to the ADB folder located on C:/ADB
2. Restart the phone and once the phone screen turns off hold the Volume Down button to boot into fastboot.
3. Now this is where it is very crucial to ensure you know what each file corresponds to for the boot files. Type in the command Fastboot flash boot (Modified file name for boot.img).
4. Type in the command Fastboot Flash Boot_a (Modified file name for boot_a.img).
5. Type in the command Fastboot Flash Boot_b (Modified file name for boot_b.img).
6. Then type the command Fastboot reboot
7. Load Magisk and verify that it is indeed installed.
8. Boom rooted!
I don't get this I rooted much easier by simply flashing magisk.
I downloaded magisk zip
I then booted into fastboot connecting my ohone to the pc
I booted into twrp from fastboot with the command "fastboot boot twrp.img"
From twrp I simply flashed magisk.zip wiped dalvik and ART cache and rebooted the phone
Root done!
My question is now how can I update without loosing data.
I was thinking of installing the new rom via miflashtool without wiping data and then reflash magisk. It should work right?

In my testing I couldn't get my phone to root with Magisk. I haven't tested that but it sounds like it should work.
Look it is super simple, it can be done on every rom with an unlocked bootloader (this must be obvious)
Download the latest magisk.zip file on your phone
Download the compatible TWRP for your device on your computer and put it into your ADB and fastboot folder and rename it "twrp.img" (make sure you replace the file extension with the ".img")
Reboot your phone into fastboot
Connect the phone to the PC
Run the check command "fastboot devices" to check if your device is listed
Then run the command "fastboot boot twrp.img"
Your phone will now boot into twrp recovery and there is no need to flash it and overwrite the original recovery
Now give twrp the permissions to look into your folder by unlocking it at boot (password of pattern depends on what you use normally for your phone)
Now since the twrp is chinese you must change your language into english (3rd button on the right then click on the globe on the up right and select the language you want)
Now go into wipe and wipe manually cache and dalvik
Now go into your system and search for magisk.zip, flash it and wipe again dalvik and cache.
Reboot your phone
Now when you boot you must have magisk through your apps, boot magisk and complete the installation process.
Reboot again and enjoy!

Thank you for this tuto, but i have a problem :/
At this step, twrp is booting straight on the menu, no password asked, and so, no access to data :/
Do you have an idea please ?

I believe this is a known issue, there is a problem on some versions of twrp with encryption, to me never happened. What kind of screen security do you have on your phone?

You can try 2 things, remove the screen lock protection or inject a different version of twrp, I never had this problem as I boot twrp via adb

Removal of the screen lock resulted as a failure too (same problem than with the screen lock)
