App sugention - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
I just came from a rooted and xposeded Nexus 5 to the OP3T, and one feature I really miss is the Xposed Module Network Speed Indicator, that displays network speeds on the status bar.
I don't fell like rooting the OP3T just yet, so I was wondering if there are any apps that would do the same but don't require root or xposed.
What solution do you guys use?

This might help you.

Do you have any idea how this app behaves in terms of battery usage?

[Q] What happen to the notification...

Somehow the notification thingy (red dot with number of unread emails) is not showing anymore. This is for the built-in email client that came with the Gnote.
I have a feeling its because I have ADW EX as my launcher now. Just want some confirmation, and is there a way to get it back?
Thanks.
If you're using ADW, then you'll need ADWNotifier.
Thanks, but doesn't work with the Samsung email client.

It has killed my phone before. It obviously came up and was there for hours, and the screen just drained the battery. I also assume it prevented the phone sleeping. This was with the Xperia Arc.
There are settings that can prevent this, but then I found the situation fairly useless as the notification was not there when I wanted it. I could not find a method that suited me.
I have no bought (waiting delivery) one of those wristbands that vibrate when you get a notification, call, or leave your phone behind . I think that will work better for me. Still waiting for an Android watch that does not look like a brick on your wrist.

I really don't understand you very well. Anyway, if you talking about battery bar, the only one that can make that is this xposed module. I use it & works flawless.

Your phone needs to be rooted for that.
If you don't have a rooted device and you dont want to root it, you could try the following apps:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.calsto.omega.statusbar&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.firezenk.ssb&hl=en
I used these apps till I rooted my phone, then I started using the xposed mode which is way better.
Omega and Super Status Bar will take some time to start up after you turn on device, till then, you'll see your old status bar.

Thanks

Well, today I do not feel like explaining what is. Simply read what a xposed modules (& xposed framework too) is & what you can do with them. If you think that is just one bkg app running, I assume you don't know what those are. So, read a little more (& learn more) & you will realize that xframework is a all new world of possibilities. Have fun learning new stuff & have a nice day
I understand that but expose is running in background

If your problem is about the battery, I can tell you that xpsd framework & xposd mods maybe drain your battery only 0,0000001%. A lot of other apps that you have running on background or not sucks even more, so...Use what you think is better for you & have a nice day

Lollipop, or wait for root?

So after all the hype for Lollipop and whatnot, I've been wondering what exactly the differences are between Lollipop and KK. Other than the theme, the lockscreen notifications (which we already have with moto display), and ART. Are there any other major differences?
Furthermore, what's the general opinion on the odds of root being achieved? I know it's more likely on KK, but is it worth waiting to update for, or should I take the Lollipop update when it's rolled out? I don't miss much coming from a rooted device, other than the firewall. Xposed would be nice but I can probably live without it.
Basically I just want to weigh my options for when the time comes.
I will wait.
Also - what can now be achieved without root?
For example:
A lot of apps now support functions that required root before
Tasker
Greenify
Etc.
Being able to disable apps somewhat replaces the need for titanium

Is there a way to disable the updates coming from Verizon? I want my phone as "stock" as possible in case we ever get root so I'm trying to freeze the HD Calling/VoLTE update from installing but not sure if there is currently a way to do that without having root?
New to the VZ and Droid scene
I just got my Turbo and that update so far has been more than just the Volte after doing an FDR I actually noticed a little better responsiveness. I am looking into battery life now. Even without root or unlocked bootloader it is a pretty cool phone. Aside from the battery draining bloat, does anybody have big drain issues with command center after the update ( that Verizon did instore )

One of the main reasons I want root at this point is to disable the capacitive lights. They stay on a lot of times when they really shouldn't, like when watching movies or videos.

Amazing. Thanks!
Absolutely! Every day I find a new app that replaces a need for root. If anyone else has any other similar discoveries (apps that can do things we normally needed root for) please don't hesitate!
Example: My GPS was toggled by itself once (I think through tasker), so I have high hopes that there is some way to toggle GPS without root.
-I'm trying to replicate what happened and what variables I used in tasker.

I think this is a very good discussion. Is there any news on someone even possibly finding a root method for 4.4? I'll wait if there's any hope of root, but I haven't heard any new info regarding root or even if there is any word of someone even looking into it.

I dont think you should wait to get lollipop once its released. I feel the hold up currently is because lollipop is close to getting released thats its pointless to release a root method now. After the first lollipop update dont i wouldnt take anymore

Usually pretty good, but depends what your using it for. Location polling, and things of that nature can be worse. But for this particular purpose, you won't even notice it.

This feature was one of the rare ones I really liked about the stock TW rom. Can you explain how to get this with tasker?
I'm rooted, I have tasker, just no clue on how to tell tasker to check on wether I'm looking or not!?!?!?!
Don't think it will be able to know if your looking at it or not, but you can set it up, basically, to not turn the screen off, like the sleep function does. Sorry, I missed the "looking at it" part in the first post.

There are apps in play that do that though I forgot what they're called.
Try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teqtic.kinscreen&hl=en

You're not going to find much for that. That with a few others are trademarked by Samsung and most likely require a special type of front facing camera for it.
Saw this app today and thought Id share. Looks like you may have to adjust some settings to work well with N6 but I haven't tried it yet myself.

Is there a mod to get the new navigation introduced in the Moto Z3. I know we can use the fingerprint sensor but I like the visual help.

All these apps on the play store use accessibility services which is a big compromise because it impacts in the overall performance of the system.
