Lenovo k3 note android M gaming performance (lagging, heating help) - K3 Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First of all, I'd like to mention that my phone is rooted with supersu. The only reason I rooted was to check out a dpi changer app that could help with gaming performance. But I'm still facing lag and my phone is heating when I play games for 15+ mins (I've tried Le DPI changer app).
I followed this thread: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/K-and-Vibe-Z-Series-Smartphones/K3-Note-Gaming-performance/td-p/2124793 which suggested two methods - Disabling cpu throttling and get root and change dpi. I decided to go with the safer second method, which is not working well so far.
So, is there any way to improve gaming performance on my phone? Maybe another dpi changer app? I have Screen shift and Le DPI changer app installed. I'd love to hear your suggestions.

Disable your CPU Throttling , I do that on mine

[Q] Increase DPI of Galaxy Note

I know most of you with think why would i want to increase the DPI of Galaxy note.. Lets just say a special person needs to use it and requires REALLY REALY LARGE fonts.. The largest possible hopefully.. is it possible to increase the DPI higher than 320? if so how?.. Most apps i found only limit to 320 DPI.. what is a safe DPI can i use higher than 320?.. Thanks alot..
I got it bumped up to 400, with the app LCD resolution.. However some apps like the dialer or sCalendar are un un useable because of the resolution, that could be solved by 3rd party apps, however, on major problem i am facing is the settings app gets FC.. Do you guys know any way to prevent this?.. if only there were 3rd party app alternative for settings.. what do you guys suggest?.. Is there a way around this like borrowing the settings apk from an SGSII or something.. any ideas?
I used Rom Toolbox and changed the DPI to 340 before and everything worked fine. Granted everything was big.

I tried Rom Toolbox aswell.. anything about 320 makes the settings application FC..
Settings > Display > Screen Display > Font size. Wont that help?

[Q] Performance drop after root

I recently rooted my Atrix HD, and it is now performing terribly -- Extremely laggy and slow, comparable to my old G1. I installed a good number of tweaks, primarily one to hide the soft keys and one to dim the screen lower than normal, along with the standard ROM Toolbox and such. I also installed Safestrap. Could a particular buggy application be causing this? My CPU monitor shows one core scaling normally, and the other nearly always stuck at max speed. I haven't tweaked the CPU clock speed or governor at all.
Download android tweaker and set the settings to performance.

Note 4 rooted with stock rom, heavy performance issues with xposed

Hello There!
Yesterday i bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and copied all apps and data (with Titanium Backup Pro) from my Note 3.
Now every 10 to 30 seconds my Note 4 begins to falter (sporadic laggs 2-3 sec). CPU and memory are ok and after some hours searching the problem i found out that if i disable the xposed framework everything works fine.
I then testet only the module "appsettings" but same problem. I switched the DPI from 640 to 380, now some apps look wired or doesen't work so i set them back with appsettings.
Now the xposed framework is not installed and appsettings doesen't work obviously.
Anyone else with such problems?
Build prop edit, or wanam module I'd the way to go for your case. Look in note forum for details

I'm using texdroider dpi to change dpi settings for the rom so everything works fine with 380 dpi but some apps look awfull.
I can life without wanam xposed, but i need an alternative for app settings to change per app dpi. Is there an alternative?

Changing Screen Resolution ?

I love my note 5 too much but i am tried of low battery performace even with 180 debolated apps including touchwiz
And i know the best way to get bettery life is lower resolution.
I am on stock rom and i dont want to use note 7 roms with unsteable usage even these roms have resolution changing feature.
Is there any way to change resolution (NOT DPI) with stock rom rooted or non-rooted. 1080p or 720p
Some people talk about it can changeable with ADB but i have never used it
Can anyone help me about this prob. And is there any good site or title on xda tells how to change resolution step by step with ADB or anything else.

It's possible with ADB (with or without root) but causes FC and crashes in System UI and many stock apps.
Try Naptime for rooted Note5 and enable doze immediately after screen off.. This saved me a lot of battery even with Wifi, Data and GPS always on.
More importantly, turn off the battery percentage. Believe it or not, it was making me paranoid about battery life ad without it on the status-bar, my life is much easier now.

[Q] Share your experiences about using 240 ppi screen density

Hi guys,
I use stock Marshmallow ROM with the latest security updates available, and the device is rooted via SuperSU.
I don't want to use the Exposed+App Settings solution in order to enable per-application PPI settings, so the only way to get more screen estate AND all options working in the Motorola Camera is to use the 240 ppi density.
What I'd like to know is if there are any issues that block using 240 ppi density on a daily basis—like misbehaving apps, higher battery drain (I have Force GPU Rendering enabled in dev settings), hardware issues, etc.
Please share your experiences, and thank you in advance!
