I ordered and received the Mi Mix 256gb. By far the best phone I've used in a long time BTW. This screen.
I didn't receive a case with mine though, and when I contacted GearBest they said it was random who got a case or not - can you confirm whether you received it with or without the case, and if not, where you got one?

I don't think that it is randomized. I hear this for the first time! With every Mi MIX should be a case within the box.

Thank you! This is outrageous - I'm going to try my best. Anyone else with this issue? I just emailed Xiaomi and complained.
Xiaomi is now looking into the issue and investigating. I got the formal packing list here, in case gear best is ripping anyone else off:

Xioami released a batch (9th Dec) which didnt include case, in place of the case they put a foam piece with chinese writing that roughly translates "Case will be shipped in January 2017"
So if you got this foam piece with Chinese writing then your device is part of that batch.
There was no foam piece though, just an empty slot where the case should be?

Xiaomi didn't include case, not GearBest. A paypal dispute probably wouldn't solve much.
Mine is foam piece too. Unfortunately I bought mine from 3rd party seller. I don't think I'll get mine ever.
I advise everybody whom did not get the leather case to send complain to both GEARBEST and Xiaomi , I sent the following complain to GEARBEST and Xiaomi Hong Kong email : [email protected] also Xiaomi Taiwan: [email protected], for GEARBEST go to live chat then to after sale and send your complain:

I wish from the manufacturer company Xiaomi to consider this issue and find a solution to satisfy its customers because in the end it aims to compete on an international level by providing premium experience and customer services.
I hope you can find a solution that makes me buy products again from you in the future.
Sites that are removing the leather case are selling them separately.
I ordered 2 Mix and both came with leather cases, clear case and a tempered glass.
I am debating on ordering a 3rd only because I want a white one now.

no, I am referring to Gearbeast not shipping the case. i'm not talking about the foam case which would not be the retailers fault. if Gearbeast is intenationally removing the cases and not telling the customer a paypal dispute would help force them to send you the case.

If that's the case then yes definitely dispute :good:
All Mi Mix come with a leather case. If yours didn't than whoever you ordered from removed it. Open a dispute and get a partial refund or wait for them to send you a leather case.

Actually not entirely true, not all Mix come with a leather case, there is a shortage of the case so Xiaomi has included a statement in some of the recent batches indicate the case will be sent out in Jan 2017. So most likely, once they are back in stock, they will be sent to the third party seller you purchase the Mix from. You should ask your seller to send you the case when they arrive.
Of course, some third party seller may have removed it if yours is running custom Rom, if it's sealed and running CN rom and you have the statement from Xiaomi (a whole bunch of chinese letters..xD), then you are holding the case shortage batch.

if you cover is that badly scratched, why not just sand it, leave the metal bare or paint it. put a cover on it and it will not be noticeable.

How about I give you my account number and you can withdraw the money yourself . Get real.
My cover got scratched from using a PDAIR case that is leather on the inside as well. It started taking the paint off the edges. Hopefully somebody finds something for less than 40$, which is a little ridiculous.

I agree w/ you. Maybe on that ebay listing put a offer in. Ive bought from that seller before and Ive put in $7-$15 cheaper than what his asking prices is and he's has accepted everytime. Its worth a try...worst case senerio is he say no. But i definitely agree w/ you $40 is alittle steep.

I have been buying Notes for the whole family, we love 'em. I have been getting from different retailers so have had a chance to see units from different regions, batches, etc.
Most retailers have shipped with some form of bubble wrap or packing peanut, never a combination of both. I would say average protection from what I have seen.
I love Negri Electronics don't get me wrong...but I would say shipping a $700 electronic device with absolutely no packing protection, inside just a green plastic bag is not just unacceptable, but it also violates FedEx's electronics shipping guidelines for sellers. The phone box was warped and wouldn't you have it, screen issues out of the box. More than likely occured during shipment due to no packing protection. Also no invoice in or on the box.

First you should obviously contact the place you bought the phone from and complain. Secondly, you should inform FedEx about this and provide them with the photos and possibly the plastic bag itself should they wish to see that.

Spoke with Ryan Negri, the CEO, who was incredibly rude but in the end said he would authorize a full refund RMA via mail then hungup on me. Snail mail? Email? Awesome stuff. He also said I am banned from future purchases from his company...
Depending on the outcome I will post the wonderful chat and conference call with Mr. Negri so you can see what this company is all about.

I can't provide pictures since I've sent it back for return in the same box.
Same size box as OP with brown crumpled up paper that didn't even close to being enough to wedge the Note box to stop it from shuffling around. And a loose Euro-plug. My Note box wasn't even sealed at all. Only one side had a sticker on it with IMEI # - no S/N printed. Did not include a warranty information card and the bag the battery was in looked a little beat up.
They charge a 10% restocking fee even if you want to return it because of noticeable lines, uneven brightness, gamma, and banding issues. This is currently what I'm going through since they've deemed my phone as "up to Samsung's specs". My phone's firmware was UBKK2 - Brazil I believe. Made in China.
I just bought one at those placed that sell world phones. I got it for 580 hooked up. If you guys want to buy it from me for 650 shipped properly I could do that for you?

Yikes. Sounds like a nightmare. I purchased my Note through Amazon.com. Well, my order was fulfilled by Amazon but the Note came from Global Mobiles. The package with the phone was packed in another box with air pillows and all arrived just fine. I did purchase my Galaxy Tab 7.7 from Negri and the package did arrive in a green bag but the Fed Ex box also included other paper packaging materials to cushion the Tab box.
This is again something I like about Finland: every time I've ordered some expensive gadgetry it has always arrived very properly packaged, hell, sometimes it feels like some places overdo the packaging just to be extra-safe.

This is the practice I encourage in my business. I'm willing to eat a few cents on some packing peanuts or bubble wrap instead of:
1. potentially damaging my inventory
2. potentially losing a customer and his/her's future business
3. having my customer support then deal with complaints/exchanges/returns
Everything is a cost of doing business. But we all deserve a little bubble wrap and packing peanuts
Called Expansys and placed my order through phone. Pretty friendly support as I shared with them my recent experience.
They notated my order to provide extra packing protection. New batch arriving March 6
The only thing that bothers me is how all these businesses are using FedEx now. That's my personal gripe though.

Definitely a heavy impact on the box (the edge). That's not nice...
But mine (T-Mobile) was sent loosely in a parcel without any further protection and the box had no issues whatsoever...
Bought the original Blurex one for $6, which turned out to be pretty crappy but then they made up for it by shipping me the updated model for free. (Which is a lot nicer!)

I just found what I was looking for - TPU Case cover very similar to Asus official travel case cover, also works as a multi-angle stand. Bad news is that I found on Alibaba.com, where minimum order is 500 pieces and I didnt find it anywhere else. Also, it doesnt work as a smart cover with magnetic sleep/wake function.

Plus then you're going to receive 500 cases in you mailbox, and then you're going to ship all 499 of them to people? In the end the costs of shipping will be the same as if you bought original asus nexus case.

If you like the official case so much, just get it, it's not way too expensive, if you include the hassle you get with ordering 500 chinese ones. And the cover on the chinese one looks like it'll fall off any time now.

Hi, all that talks about getting hundreds of people was a joke:laugh:, actually, we were talking about how difficult could be doing a such a simple thing like buying a new device case on net. But thanx, anyway, I allready have a official Asus grey case and I really like it, but it couldnt be used as a stand cover, especially as a multi-angle stand. I've seen many parts on eBay for OnePlus 3 but no replacement back cover yet. They have everything else though like front glass, vibration motor, battery, antenna, speaker, camera cable.

Ouch, I feel your pain dude.. I would suggest maybe covering it up with a skin for the time being and when they do start making replacement backings eventually, get one then..
two months ago, seen at Aliexpress, price was around 70$, but now item is not available. Just contact with CS and ask how much they will charge for back housing replacement at RMA.

Im sure trying to replace it on your own will cause more damage to the device because you can mess up adhesives, screen, other internals & etc
And when they say they dont sell parts it means you will endup with a cheaper manufactured backcover that is not even original. Just keep the device as it is those two dots shouldnt bother you

By the way on the teardown videos of OnePLus 3 it looks pretty easy to remove the back cover. No adhesive or something. Just removing the bottom screws will do the job.
Man, i had the absolute same problem. When i unpacked my OP3, the charger fell out of the xox and hit the phone on the absolute same place on the bezel
I sold mine on ebay the other day and ordered a new one.
it's really simple to disassemble op3. two screws, and back cover is removed. no glue, ect.

I know I'm late here but how do you guys suggest it would be possible to produce fake back housings at the price they are charging for them? I mean how many people would realistically buy parts exclusively made for one device, and an oneplus 3 at that? A few thousand people at most? If this is the case I don't think it would be financially viable to make any sort of production line for these parts. Aside from stealing original ones from the factory, or mabye defective ones I don't see how they would produce such a limited quantity for so cheap unless they are originals? Any insight?
There are many options for the back cover. The back on my Oneplus 3 was damaged but not as bad as yours. I was planning to replace my back but all i had was a tiny scratch so it wasn't worth it. I will change it when my back is really messed up. When you search for the cover on ebay just search for battery cover You can tell most fakes as they don't have the oneplus logo and for a different colour, try to get one with the sim card tray. Try to get a cover near Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangdong that's where the Oneplus headquaters is. There's also a midnight black cover as well!
