Replaceable watch strap is not always applicable. I love to wear stylish and trendy watches every year. I am crazy for watches.

I think I may do the same, whenever it wears out I just may go to Amazon, Best Buy, or Google and get something new.

Just got one the other day. Just do like me, get the one with the silicon band. It's probably the best band for this watch cause it's very sweat resistant (i used the watch in the gym ....)

Doh!! I didn't realize the strap was not replaceable. I couldn't imagine a watch being made like that. I wouldn't have bought one if I'd have done some research.

I was in touch with a reddit user, who was kind enough to share this with me:

he cut his own 46mm strap down with an x-Acto knife and used a 15mm pin.
I hope this helps

I suspect that 46mm is a typo. Was it a 22mm?

No it wasn't a typo, 22mm is probably the pin length not the strap length. 46mm straps will have the correct width you'd need to cut down, smaller straps likely won't fit the lugs very well and will probably just fall out.

Now I'm confused. 46mm is just under 2 inches. That can't be the length of the watchband as that would barely fit around my thumb. And it can't be the width as it would be more than twice as wide as the existing strap. What am I not understanding?

My bad.. Get a strap for a 46mm watch.
22-24mm should be the strap's width

lanyard cases?

yeah, yeah, i know the whole "why do you need a lanyard"
i don't was just curious if they exsisted.
Doubt they mass produce any but My daughter made me one a while ago in school. Fit pretty good while it lasted. It Was cool for a minute. Used it till it feel apart. Was much happier with the key chain she made me last week.

Well, I'll be damned....I've had the phone for more than a year - this is news to me. Thanks!!
Actually almost every case I have seen has a hole for this. I didn't even realize it existed until a couple of months ago, but even the cheap case I had for about 2 weeks had a hole for it.
That lanyard hole is microscopic on my Dinc. How would you ever thread a lanyard through?
I've had mine over a year too and I could of swore that was a noise canceling microphone. Anyway, easiest way to attach one looks like you take off the battery cover, thread the small part of the lanyard/wrist strap through the battery cover ( or through your case first ) then put the loop around the little hook.

Genuine Samsung Flip Cover Review (Case for Galaxy Note 2)

Video Review

Pros:
Very cool, elegant design, and great idea. You'll want to show it off to your friends.
It eliminates wobble problem.
You can talk with the case on.
Volume still controllable through flap.
Adds very little thickness and width.
Very good materials.
Back feels more sturdy.
Issues:
Makes notification light useless when it is closed.
Expensive, at least for the moment.
White case may be more prone to staining.
Other:
I wish the flap, although it sits flush, had some kind of magnetic attachment.

A magnetic closure will screw up the pen functionality big time.
Do you think that making a small clean hole where the notification led is, it's feasible?

i just tried it. you're right. but will it have negative effect in the long run? also i'm afraid the small piece of metal that attaches to the magnet might damage my screen. not a good buy i guess.. got it for around $15.

I was thinking the same thing this morning. I think if you know materials, have precision and sharp drill bits you can do a clean job. but I am too committed to the love of OEM and unmodified factory design, I don't think I have the heart do it. Also, the whole point is to remove any opening to the glass from dust particles. having a hole there just works against that goal.

Unless you cover the hole with transparent film, tape etc...
If you check the reviews here on XDA for the Note 1 version, a couple of us had problems with the flap leather/skin coming off of the support cardboard material after a couple of months. It's really nice and elegant, but the lose skin starts getting in the way. Just something to list in the cons section.

Yes. Potential peeling of outside cover on OEM case is a worry. I agree that this was a major flaw of original case. Ps. I think it was way more than a couple of people complaining about it. Lots of bad reviews on several sites. Hope Samsung have learned. From a distance though ...this case looks to be of better quality.

I dunno, I had one on my S3 both a blue and white. Forget the white, the edge peeled and got really dirty in a day. The same happened to the blue but didn't look so bad, but the edge still peeled and the hinge eventually cracked within a couple of weeks.
Am wondering if the front of the cover is waterproof??

Any other case of this style you guys would recommend?

some reviews from the samsung site about the s3 flip cover say they deteriorate fairly quickly...can you comment on this with regards to the note2 covers?
I have the orange flip cover and now also the black. I bought the black because of a 50% off coupon that I got from Samsung and also because my orange one got incredibly dirty! I'm going to try and clean it today. Not sure how well that will go. I work in a warehouse so my hands get fairly dirty. There are large "finger prints" on the inside of the case from where my hand holds the cover when it is in the open position.
Will let everyone know how cleaning goes today!

Band Size

I have large wrists and usually need extra links added to most watch bands. Anybody know how large the Gear band is?
The clasps come off so you can adjust.
In general the first thing to wear on a watch is the wrist strap. As this strap is an integral part of the watch you realise what that means. A complete new watch. I don't know what material the strap is made from. Oris make a watch range with what appears Rubber straps but this is a special reinforced vulcanised rubber same as found in car tyres. I have been using Oris for some years and have yet to replace a strap. I doubt the Gear is made from the same materials though?
Looks like its going to be a steep learning curve for us with this watch. I love my techno and am looking forward to trying out the Gear. I do have several reservations though and think a gear Mk2 will not be to far ahead. Judging by the offers Samsung are offering with the gear I think, from market research, that they also have some reservations. I am 'only' paying 120.00€ for my Gear not the full market price here of 300.00€.
Regards.
in fact, the band size is short, i am 1meter85, and the band is the limit to me. The plastic is hard (peharps too new?) and the close mechanism is bad placed (to much to the right)
YOU MUST cleary try it before buy it if you are tall!

Super quick review... Matches the watch like it was built for it. I've had this brand before and it held up well which isn't surprising, it feels like a piece of decent quality. Quicker to take on and off and less likely to drop your watch which is true all of straps of this type versus a buckle. Regrets = zero.

Its much easier to match up the stainless than various gold, rose, graphite, ti, etc. bands/straps/bracelets. I would consider taking it to a larger shop where they have a good inventory and try to match it up.

The magnet is strong enough to hold the charger to the phone in most any position including the watch laying on its side. You can do it however you want.
Got the SUPER engineer Type II based on reviews
Amazon item B00CSE7IJ2
I know it seems like it's a bit pricey compared to others like the Hadley Roma but I'm super impressed with the quality. It's very heavy and the edges are not rounded over like it was mass produced. The links that can be removed for sizing have screws and they are super easy to adjust. I also like the buttons on the flip part of the band closure.
$72 bucks is still a hell of a lot cheaper than those rip off apple metal bands. Can't imagine them being any higher quality than this.
Important note: the 2.5mm fat boy pins that come with this larger band do not fit into the body of the LG Urbane because the lugs or tips are 0.8mm instead of the tiny ones that came on the existing leather strap band. For now, I'm using the pins that came with the watch, which are standard 22mm, but with smaller lugs. I could not find another vendor who made a 2.5mm pin with smaller tips since these larger bands are designed to go on Seiko's or diving watches.
Update: My plan is to put the fat boy pins that came with the watch in my dremel and use a micro diamond file ($13 on amazon) to reduce the lug down to a diameter that works in the Urbane. I will post an update if it works out and post links to the files I bought. Don't see why it wouldn't work and I don't think there is any other choice if you want to utilize the fat boy pins...which I do.
Stay tuned...pics coming.
Peter
ptchan5, could you explain in greater detail the Fatboy 2.5mm lug and LGs .8mm tips?

I like this also.
Metal bands are not my thing.
Fat boy 22mm Spring Pins MOD
This is a follow-up to my previous post.
I used a dremel to reduce the diameter of the lugs on the 2.5mm fat boy spring pins that come with the heavy diver watch metal bands. I searched high and low and I believe all the thick spring pins come with 0.8-1.0mm lugs at the tips which are too big for the body of the LG Urbane. Turns out the pins that come with the Urbane are actually smaller than the holes in the watch body, but the fat boy pins are just a wee bit too large.
This MOD took about 5-8 minutes to do and worked perfectly! Now you can use the spring pins that were supposed to go with the larger metal band.
All you need to do is insert the spring pin into the dremel about half way and turn the dremel on to low setting. I bought the cheapest set of micro files I could find on Amazon Prime for $14 bucks and I ended up only using a single file out of the set. The one I used was the 90 degree square one so I could easily just hold it up to the lug for a minute or two and moved it forward and backward while watching the lug leave metal residue on the file. The 316L stainless steel pins are not soft metal! So it's nearly impossible to mess this one up. Once I got the pins to be reduced down in size visually I tested them in the watch before proceeding to do the rest of the pin ends.
Again, don't waste your time searching ebay or Amazon for 2.5mm pins with smaller lug pins. They don't exist. Besides by the time you buy them and find out they don't work you could have owned a nice set of micro files and been done with the MOD on the original pins that shipped with the watch band.
Very happy with the results. Ping me if none of this makes sense. Enjoy!
** Apparently can't post the pics, so ping me and I'll email them to you; maybe someone else can post them for me **

That's not a factor for me. I'm getting that one because I liked the design best. I'm sure it would fit the urbane just fine.
I'm not much of a watch geek and have never paid too much attention to what strap I'm using. I used a NATO strap with my Pebble and the original straps with both my Pebble Steel and LG G Watch R.
However, I keep reading how uncomfortable the Urbane's strap is and it got me thinking: could I use the one in the Watch R with the Urbane? I find that one pretty comfortable.
Gorgeous!
Finally received my new metal bracelet and it beats anything I have ever seen, it really makes my watch look fair superior than even an apple watch

how does this go on? have a video to show how to install?
There are loads of YouTube videos if you search.
All you do is remove the buckle and pin from the strap, and attach the butterfly deployment instead. The other end of the butterfly deployment slides over the other strap with the holes, which locks in place depending on your wrist diameter. That's it!
Personally I find it comfortable all day.

Yes! Just got mine and installed, and I have girl wrists (2nd-to-last hole on the band). Works great, so far.
After 4 months everyday wear, I can't unfortunately recommend it anymore.
It appears to have 'worn out' with any slight movement of my wrist the clasp now releases.

I gave it a try several times and it appears the stiffness of the LG band is causing this clasp to undo much easier than intended, I am back to the original "buckle" as well. I believe if the LG material is made softer like the S3's and tappered, then the butterfly clasp would work well.
Got Mine
Got this in black last week. Works very nice. going to order one for my Urbane 2 as well. seems narrower is smaller though...
Takes a bit of getting used to putting it on etc but after few days its all good.
