Baseband? - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello XDA comunity i have a note 4 in which i have installed Dr. Ketan Rom. Now I want to install a Note 7 port but the ones i found require some baseband that should end in EPE3 or something, but my baseband ends in DOK2. The question is, what happens if i proceed with the installation? Would it brick my phone? What are the consequences? Thank you. :fingers-crossed:

For note 7 roms you need any marshmallow baseband.
Flash any marshmallow stock firmware in odin then flash twrp recovery.
Now you can flash any note 7 Roms.
Dok2 is lollipop baseband if you flash note 7 Roms it will not boot.and your sim and wifi will not work

So do i wipe everything and flash a marshmallow firmware first and then flash the note 7 rom or how do i do it? Thank you

hello...
please give me some help..
I am beginner on android, flashing and so on...
I have an S4 active, with 4.4.2 with Baseband version "I9295XXUCNI1".
I want to install the 5.0.1 version, but on sammobile, the only version available for "I9295XXUCNI1" is 4.4.2.
There is 5.0.1 available with PDA I9295XXUDOD3 and CSC I9295XXUDOD1..
Is it safe to install that room?

Yes, you can install nearly any of the firmwares from the sammobile site. If you're asking which firmware would be the best to flash to your device, it depends where you are located. The NI1 firmware is available for several different countries, so I would flash the firmware for your region, it should be optimized to best work on your networks.
update: I installed the DOD3... it worked!!

When you flash the firmware through Odin it will completely wipe the device, it doesn't matter if you're rooted or not.
thank you
but what if the S4 is locked to orange carrier?
The firmware I have downloaded is carrier free...
is there any problem?
I am afraid of bricking the phone.... I understood the root will not be a problem, but I am afraid of the lock carrier.... the baseband is not the same as the one installed on the phone now

I got the N910T. Can I use any baseband?

I have the T-mobile N190T Note 4 when it first came out and I bought it the first week of it.
Can I flash any baseband on it as long as it is for T-mobile? Can I use COG2 or any others?

My N910T is currently on COG2 baseband, bootloader and rom which I got by ODIN flashing. In dev forum, I saw people upgrading from COG2 to DOK2 (latest) by flashing DOK2 baseband and bootloader, then flash DOK2 based custom ROMs and they worked for them. So I think you can try the same to see. Hope that helps.

The latest bootloader and modem for android 7.0

Hello
Please help, I'm looking in the topic of the latest bootloader and modem for android 7.0 and so it can be installed via ODIN ..
I found something myself but it does not work and I do not know if it is the latest one, please help.
N920C
What variant do you have? I have the N920i. If I knew how to grab the latest bootloader/modem I'd totally do it for you.
I don't think the bootloader's changed since MM!?
Either way, download a rom from Samdroid. But be warned, to get root - you may need to unlock the bootloader in settings and flash twrp.
I need a file to install in ODIN

restoring backed up stock roms modem to a custom rom

I would just like to know what would happen if i tried restoring a backed up version of the stock modem that come with my phone through TWRP. would it be safe or would i have a bricked phone by the end of it?
hi,
though I'm not experienced with that, it appears to be safe to restore a modem at the Redmi Note 4X.
Unsure about Redmi 4X but I'm interested too.
edit: there's already a discussion about flashing modems at XDA unter FIRMWARES:

What is unsafe is having a Marshmallow firmware for a Nougat ROM and up, if you plan to use Nougat or newer I'd recommend flashing 37_PA, the newest firmware from Global Dev MIUI, firmwares should be always universal unless it's noted, some MIUI update also comes with a firmware, if you see some Nougat ROM they'll ask you to update to a newer firmware if you were on Marshmallow, which is why MIUI 8 (MM) to 9 (N) will also update your firmware
TLDR; if your backed up firmware is from Marshmallow and your ROM is Nougat or newer no it's not safe, otherwise everything is good, if you want to update firmware just flash the boot.img from TWRP
hey thatnks much imma check it out
alright ill try this out as well thank you

Downgrade is not allowed after some newer builds of Nougat.
