Flash stock rom without Sim Unlock - Huawei P9 Questions & Answers

Ive just got my new P9 on O2 UK contract, which comes with O2 splash screen and Bloat.. As Ive just unboxed the phone... Can I flash the unbranded UK/EU stock rom without Sim Unlocking my P9, I know you can do this with Samsung and XPERIA handsets..
Thanks

OK, took some searching .. but found it.. Answer is Yes... you dont need Sim unlock or Bootloader unlock to use a stock Rom.. but you do need to force flash. Its all in here:
YOU do this at your own Risk..

Why unlocking befor flashing?

I want to flash my samsung with the newest firmware from "samsung-firmwares",
but why i have to remove before my simlock (it´s a branded from A1).
And what happens if I flash without removing the simlock?
Thanks.
I also have the same question on my thread, no body seems to know if we can really flash simlocked units.
errors on boot i suppose ?
So Android phones actually combine simlock with different firmware locking (CID lock?) ??
The hell with that, then. In any other phone we can flash the firmware without the worry about simlock.
i rooted mine and it is sim-locked. never tried to flash tho.
just chiming in that we need some sort of confirmation/assurance that flashing is/ain't possible.

i got the same qeustion, mine is root as wel but can some1 confirm that we can flash the phone when its locked?
and is there a way to check if your phone is simlocked??
Mine is SIM lock (i think, never tested) because it was A1/Vodafone branded when i bought it..
After flash the brand was gone, but dunno with the simlock, as i have A1...
you can flash a locked phone without any problem. it will stay locked though after reflashing. if you flash a generic firmware you will get rid of the carrier personalisation.

[Q] Will flashing my ROM unlock my Magic?

Hey guys,
Was wondering if anyone can help. I flashed my ROM to the latest HTC Sence a couple of days ago hoping it would unlock the network on my phone. I was locked to Three and now have an Optus sim, and after flashing my ROM it won't even read a Three sim.
Is there a way I can unlock my HTC Magic so I can use another network provider?
Thanks heaps,
Sezza
You can call your current provider and ask for an unlock code or you can purchase one. Unlockr.com can get them for you. I think its $20
can anyone answer to this question
if i install new rom to my phone does it unlock network
no, you would just be changing the os, flashing roms wont change if your phone is locked to a specific carrier or not.
you can get unlock code on ebay ~$3

Problem with unlock and EFS Folder

Hi i bought an Simlocked S3 Mini with crashed LCD.
Then i repaired it and flashed new Stock rom for provider A1 from Austria over it. Then i saw the Pre Rooted Rom i flashed it and Rootet my phone.
Then i wanted to unlock it via the Service menu but no Network lock Menu was there. So i flashed Dmod rom and hoped it will be unlocked, because in my galaxy note i only flashed pre rootet rom did Triangle away and flashed a Custom rom and had no simlock. Same on the htc Desire from my girlfriend, after flashing Custom rom no simlock. But s3 mini flashing custom rom simlock stayed.
Now i looked for the nv_data.bin method did not work then i wanted to make it with the nv_core.bak but in my efs folder there is no file named like that?!
What can i do? i have no warranty on this phone. i mean real warranty ^^ because i bought it. i can use it only with a1 sim.
Thx for help or other instructions. greetz tom

Ah like on Sammobile? i choose model and type in the imdi number and then get the unlock code? then i have to put in another Sim and when network lock pops up i give that code in therE? is that then a Permanent unlock or will i loose the unlock after flashing a new rom or making a Factory Reset?
Hope u can answer this Question.

The FIRST thing you have to do after anything is to backup your EFS folder...

SIM Unlock Problem - UK EE

Hi all, I've recently purchased my P10 which was locked to UK EE network. My SIM is on Three. A purchased a SIM Unlock code, but unfortunately it comes back as unsuccessful each time.
My question is whether this has anything to do with the firmware I flashed? I initially upgraded it to the Oreo release based on the instructions in this forum, then flashed a treble image. Would I have to simply revert back to the original firmware in order for the SIM Unlock to work?
Please help as I need this device working.
TIA

ROM flashing sim locked phone

Hi,
Can I flash an unbranded stock ROM on my Note 8 before I do the sim unlock via code? The code takes several hours to arrive, and I could setup my phone until then, but I do not know if there is any problem in flashing the unbranded firmware before it is sim unlocked.
Thanks

SM-N950F. Vodafone branded and I want to flash European unbranded ROM.
I saw a post on sammobile since Galaxy S4, where one got a reply that before flashing the unbranded ROM he should sim unlock it first...old situation, but just want to be sure
