SIM Unlock Problem - UK EE - Huawei P10 Questions & Answers

Hi all, I've recently purchased my P10 which was locked to UK EE network. My SIM is on Three. A purchased a SIM Unlock code, but unfortunately it comes back as unsuccessful each time.
My question is whether this has anything to do with the firmware I flashed? I initially upgraded it to the Oreo release based on the instructions in this forum, then flashed a treble image. Would I have to simply revert back to the original firmware in order for the SIM Unlock to work?
Please help as I need this device working.
TIA

[Q] Will flashing my ROM unlock my Magic?

Hey guys,
Was wondering if anyone can help. I flashed my ROM to the latest HTC Sence a couple of days ago hoping it would unlock the network on my phone. I was locked to Three and now have an Optus sim, and after flashing my ROM it won't even read a Three sim.
Is there a way I can unlock my HTC Magic so I can use another network provider?
Thanks heaps,
Sezza
You can call your current provider and ask for an unlock code or you can purchase one. Unlockr.com can get them for you. I think its $20
can anyone answer to this question
if i install new rom to my phone does it unlock network
no, you would just be changing the os, flashing roms wont change if your phone is locked to a specific carrier or not.
you can get unlock code on ebay ~$3

[Q] Deepshining Carrier Unlock

I installed/flashed the latest HD7 Deepshining ROM.
In the ROM website description it says that it is“Full Unlocked”. Does this mean unlocked for side loading apps or does it also mean that after installing this ROM on a T-Mobile HD7 that it will be "carrier" unlocked as well?
I’ve installed the ROM many times over and the at&t SIM card I have will always request an unlock code. The T-Mobile SIM card works fine.
I have requested an unlock code from T-Mobile and am awaiting an email from them. After I put this unlock code in, will it carrier re-lock the device if I reflash the OS again afterwards? And in that case would I have to request a new code from T-Mobile or would the same code work again to unlock it.
Sorry for all the NOOB questions here.
SIM unlock
is permanent, once done the restriction on the phone radio is removed.
so you can try wathever rom you want...
BTW this question has already been answered too, by me.

AT&T HTC One on Vodaphone in NZ

I'm from the US and am in New Zealand for a month. I own an HTC One which I purchased from AT&T and have been using on their network in the States. I've unlocked the phone, and also have S-Off. I've purchased a prepaid SIM card from Vodaphone in New Zealand. When I insert the SIM card, the phone asks me for the 8 digit SIM unlock code, so I entered the 8 digit PUK code provided by Vodaphone with the SIM. The phone tells me this code is invalid. I'm not quite sure why this isn't working - is it possible I need to load a different firmware to use the phone in New Zealand?
Kernel is 3.4.10-g31f7883
Firmware looks like 3.62.401.1
I'm currently using ViperOne ROM.
Certainly appreciate any input on this issue.
Thanks,
Josh
Well, I did not realize that bootloader unlock and SIM unlock are two different things. That's a bit confusing. Wish I had figured that out prior to flying here.

If I remember correctly (this is all from memory), for the unlock code to work, you need
1) correct (original) CID and MID
2) stock ROM (some were able to do it on custom ROMs, but not sure if all work or only certain ones)
3) stock firmware for above ROM
4) stock recovery
5) LOCKED or RELOCKED bootloader
6) S-Off won't matter, and that will be your ticket to unlock again
you can search the forum here for SIM UNLOCK, there are quite a few similar cases, which got solved by a combination of points 1 through 5.
If anyone stumbles onto this thread in the future...
Turns out I needed a code from AT&T, as I needed to carrier unlock the phone before being able to use the Vodaphone SIM. I tried contacting AT&T to get the code, but they won't give it to you unless you are out of contract.
I was able to get an unlock code using option 5 in this thread:

I loaded a stock ROM, but left the bootloader and my custom recovery on there, and the unlock code worked just fine.

[Q] SIM Network Unlock Issue Even After Flashing with AT&T Stock Rom

Hi All -
I've searched everywhere for the answer to this and haven't been able to find it, so I figured I'd post here. This is the scenario:
1) I have a Moto X that is locked to AT&T
2) I wanted to give the phone to a friend who is on Sprint, so I paid for an unlock code
3) Even after unlocking and inserting the Sprint SIM, I still received the "SIM Network Unlock PIN" message
4) I now want to basically restore the phone completely back to the way it was (locked to AT&T), so it can be used with an AT&T SIM
5) I flashed the phone using RSDLite and the correct ATT ROM, but after the flash finished successfully and I insert a valid AT&T SIM, I still receive the same unlock message.
So my question is basically, can I get the phone completely back to being locked to AT&T, essentially the way it was out of the box? I'm also willing to flash it with Cyanogen or another ROM if that would help.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks for your time.
I have same issue, I had my Sim working for a couple of days but I wanted to return to stock to receive further updates and I flashed it with correct at&t firmware package but now there is a popup every time when I insert Sim about unlock code and I am stuck ... I think that's because of erasing modem st1 and modem st2 during flashing with RSDlite ... Is there anybody to suggest something helpful

OK, took some searching .. but found it.. Answer is Yes... you dont need Sim unlock or Bootloader unlock to use a stock Rom.. but you do need to force flash. Its all in here:
YOU do this at your own Risk..
