Yw I agree specially with the new qcom cpu things should be better for the development as now it will have a better chance for stable roms, let's see how many intersted in it..
If there is one I am ready to ditch my warranty for it
You have my vote too.
I have the t-813 variant but from my knowledge t813 would benefit from a t-713 custom rom!

I'm interested and I'd be happy to help test too.
How many votes are you expecting? Just curious
You'll definitely have more supporters/users than those participating in the poll

35 votes should be good enough, creating a tree for a new device requires much time/effort and too many debugging to maintain a final stable build , i worked before on projects where only few were intersted in my work and the other were downloading in the background without even hitting the thanks button, it's why I'm using a poll this time..

I hope this will get the 35 votes, and hopefully more than that.
And thanks for thinking about supporting this great tablet!
Ps almost half way through!
I would be very interested in seeing lineage os for the T813. :good::good::good::good::good:
Bitte bitte! Danke!

I am! It would be great because the T813 is hopefully the next one and I am waiting for it for months. I already lost my warranty because I did not checked it an thought it was a gts210wifi - bäm ... error ... and I had to learn that it was another (newer) tablet. I tried myself as much as I can, but I am a noob and need someone for help. My tablet is in a deep sleep and needs the lineage kiss to awake from the presumed dead.
You are right, it is not okay, the ones who make all these efforts and progress in the world of open source are not compensated enough. Only download it and never seen again. I hope at least the number of downloads and the huge amount of people you help, will be motivating you.
Ein dickes Danke aus Berlin! If you ask me, there must be a lot of guys out there, that would love to have your help too, but after so much time the tablet was released, not everyone looks, what new progress happened, like me. So please help me so I can use my tablet. (I refuse using it without lineage in the meantime.

Ditto to this. I think there as many or more 813 owners as there are 713 owners. Please make this work for my T813!
Sounds great. I'd be very willing to help you test.
8 more voters needed! ?
I would be interested if it supports the Snapdragon version.
I am also interested in a snapdragon version.
200% yes from me! This is a cracking lil tablet

I've never heard of this ROM, but after searching, I don't think it would be possible considering the n6 was released with Android 5.0 and the ROM is based off of an earlier version of android. If I had the knowledge and time to compile and transfer all the code and compile it for 6.0.1, I would. But I'm not sure if someone is willing to put the effort into it, I'm sorry to say. But I agree, this would be a nice port.

ohhhh, ok. My apologize, I did not see the port for n6P. Well if someone took the time someone could port to n6. Like I said, if i had the time and knowledge, I would do it. I'm currently a high school student and don't have time really. But when it's summer time, I will try to learn to develop ROMs and will port it, if not done so already.

Hi boys and gals and older fellows:
So, I have been following this forums for some weeks. I own a Redmi 2 Pro here in Mexico (2014819, 16 GB ROM and 2 GB RAM) and I wanted to test a fair amount of ROMS, I never had had a cellphone with so many custom ROMS available and I am very enthusiastic about it, so, I first went to CM13, then AICP, AOKP, DU, RR and even MIUI 8 Betas, until I found this ROM I still want to build called Paranoid Android. But I never compiled a ROM from source (I have been using Linux for many years, but never compiled an entire OS) and while I was trying to build AOSPA (or Paranoid Android) I realized it was too hard for my skills.
You see, I am only a user not a developer, and I see a lot of guys here developing and mantaining at the very same time, using their free time, processors, internet connection and patience for all of us, the users. So, I finally managed to compile CM13 from source and it runs pretty well (everything works) and it feels really great, like an achievement, but then I thought "Now what? Is it possible I can help other users? How can I learn more?". I know this is not a great achievement fro a developer, I did not create a device tree or developed a custom ROM or part of it or write a driver, I know too I can't really help any much more than I have helped to other users (as much or few as it can be). So, what do you think? I wanna learn more, I want to custom CM13 to my own needs as a learning exercise (add, remove, tweak governors; that sort of things).
||||||||||
TL;DR: I want to help people with a lot of work in his/her hands helping Redmi 2 community. I am a regular GNU/Linux user and I can compile CM13 from source. Is there any way I can help you to help others while I learn something more? Suggestions on what to do from now on are also welcome, keeping in mind I am not a developer and I do not want to be one.
Wrong place bro
You can get help from @s.sawrav and @pirej,these are sort of devs who could help you.
Btw if you can, please try to compile also nougat if you can.
And use Google for things you want to learn like oc,governors and stuff there are some pretty good threads here on XDA on how to build kernels and add features to it like this here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/ultimate-guide-compile-android-kernel-t2871276 .
Wish you best luck?
Great, one more Dev for our little beast. Try Paranoid next ...

Just start from doing the green thing
That's the best way to learn, and when/if you are happy with the modifications you made, and you think that the rom you made is different enough to be posted as a different/new/your rom, then post it.

I'm not familiar with the meaning of "the green thing", I love plants, so it would be great it is a plant-related saying. Care to elaborate a little? At the moment I am learning some useful repo parameters and attempting to build Resurrection Remix which seems going just OK.
I am downloading too all the source code from CM11, I think that's gonna be doable for a newbie like me, AOSPA is just too much right now, so I gave up with that for now, even documentation is hard to get.

Oh, I see now, thanks for the advice. This XDA Forums app can't parse color tags, so I was lost.
Hey I Was hoping you could build and Maintain a stable Cyanogen 12.1! A lot of people are still using 12.1 and kumajaya has stopped active development on that ROM. Plus the Sailfish OS community would really benefit from your support
As a flashaholic XD ,I would like to say on behalf of the Note 5 community that we the users would like to see a stable build of cyanogenmod for all variants
Maybe a few devs could work together instead of competing for the best debloated or tweaked stock rom
I know for certain that the devs will gain a lot of respect and it would be better than any Note 7 port

Well unfortunately mate the rom will never return to xda again some trolls got on our nerves rilq and suzook or something couldn't be bother to check
But the good news we didn't stop development and we were not going to stop even after what happened we have been building the rom for our personal use and decided to share it here
Technically when we decided to leave we didn't lose anything. It is a little unfortunate that the people of xda are the ones who winded up in the mix because of those trolls but none of us wanted to deal with the them

So where can we follow the new updates
My small team made a decision. We are finnaly creating our own custom ROM and it will be called Android Open Source Dark Project( based on AOSP as how name suggests), and for sure it will have official support for this device and P8Lite 2017, and many other. Currently we are recruiting members since we are too few to make a ROM by ourselves.
News: ROM Development has officially started.
I will not leak too much features now but first version will be based on nougat Oreo, will have a full, true dark mode and will be blazingly fast. The rest you'll find out when we'll release it.
If you think you have all what we need and you want to work with us, here is a form where you can apply freely: Android Open Source Dark Project Application
Estimated release date: November 2018
Best Regards,
Anyone who wants to find out the latest news about the ROM join the Telegram group: Android Open Source Dark Project Telegram

Here a beta tester for you. I own P8 Lite 2015 and I am using now other phone as a daily driver so I can do tests without problems and provide logcats.
Luck anyway
Hope you and your team may add hardware nav button mapper(like on aospa and dot os)
Good luck ?

My only question is.... Why? Aren't here already 10+ roms, 100+ garbage custom ones with 0 support? Why you need to make 1 more? How will this help us or anyone? Why not just sending patches and commits to other custom roms and use those, or join them?

Also, the ROM will be based on AOSP Oreo.

I'm not talking about these phones, or "my" custom preferences lol. I just asked some questions, and from this respond i see that it will be, hopefully not, another fail custom build based on x rom with minor changes, and than abandoned in some weeks. Check esposito os (or how it's called, seen it from dark.... fck i forgot the names xd).
If you can't take critics don't respond, please.

Okay. You want a public explosion? Here's a public explosion.
First of all, the beef isn't with you, so you should've stayed quiet because it has nothing to do whatsoever. Until now.
You are a great dev, and you did indeed help me a lot when I was a begginer in Kirin development, but that was a month ago when I didn't know anything. And as much as you help and as much as I like your work, you need to make up your mind. May I ask how many times have you left Kirin development then came back? Is that how it works for you? Why can't you try and develop for both of your devices? You also claimed you got DU Oreo working with everything except til, why didn't you publish a beta? And why did you delete most of your sources? You do realize that kernel sources need to be availible publicly for roms to stay on XDA right?
As for the other guy I asked him ONCE for help, and he didn't even reply, so I can't say he helped, I still figured it out on my own. But that guy that you trust so much and protect like he's your son, is the same guy who dmd me a few weeks ago asking me to build lineage for him to publish on XDA.
So stop. Both of you aren't powerful and mighty, and neither am I. This has nothing to do with you, it's between me and the other guy (who asked me to dm him on telegram then blocked me lol), not between you and me. The fact that he even asked you for your help just shows he needs his buddies to go and step up for him because he can't do it himself.
Was this supposed to be a public beef? No. But it seems like it's what you wanted, so here's a favor for you.
P.S how the living hell is it immature to ask for help when you don't know something?
This is all that I am going to say, and I have no more ****s to give about this. I like who I like and don't who I don't. I don't like the other guy, so what?

This is all that I am going to say, and I have no more ****s to give about this. I like who I like and don't who I don't. I don't like the other guy, so what?

I didn't say that I'm working on DU Oreo, where you hear that? secondly I'm working on a SD821 that already port treble on LePro3 as my second project after P8L2017 if you want I can port it here, but it wasted time. thirdly I won't be part of ****ty "public discussions" since don't have time for it. At least I didn't "block" you, so be mature and move on.

We will work on keeping it updated, don't worry. We don't promise weekly updates, but maybe monthly (ish) might happen

I have some of my personal points to say:
1. This is not the place for fights here. If you all fight like some children, well find another place since this is not the good one.
2. Everybody has the right to a opinion and if we think your ROM is crappy this is how it's going to be. In life you won't find anywhere happy guys which will like everything.
3. You should't complain at all since ~1 hour ago you came into our pubilc AOSDP group and started begging my team members to get you in our team. Didn't you say you don't have any time to work even on your ROM? Then why you want to work on another one?
And last, 4. If I was developing EspositoOS I would've considered the AOSDP a threat and not a place to beg team members to get you in the team.
Do not continue your fights here, this is a announcement thread and not a fight club.
Thanks for understanding,
Lets start a counter in this forum and let devs know about popularity of this device so we can get good AOSP rom etc as fast as possible!

+1 for me and another +1 for my cousin who's not in xda
Really pointless thread. If you've followed any of the other AOSP request threads, you'll know that it's a very complicated and involved task. Amassing "+1" posts isn't going to motivate anyone more to take on such a task.
On a more personal note, I don't know why someone would buy a device like the Note 8 just to strip it of all of its features. Personally, I bought my device because of all the features Samsung has put on it. I wouldn't put AOSP on this, likely even if someone paid me, because it would defeat the purpose of having this device in the first place.

If you think that way you shouldn't be on XDA then, development is main thing we discuss here. Giving support to Dev in any way concerned will help them!

We all have different opinions and preferences, so I think we all belong here. Of course support for devs is always welcome, but a +1 thread may not be the most effective way to go about getting what you want...They can already see the view count on aosp-related threads after all. Maybe try reaching out directly instead.

Well, devs, I think, try to develop roms to attain a better experience, adding some features, taking out some not very popular ones, in general to make the overall performance better, as Max Terrible here stated, buying a note series device to strip it down of ALL the features that make it what it is, in my opinion, is pointless, to that effect, you should get a pixel device, clean pure android out of the box

Do explain to me how having a thread full of people posting +1 to try and convince a dev to make an AOSP ROM, is considered supporting the dev?
I definitely support the devs and the great work they do on here, but recruiting a mob to basically create a petition for someone to do something you want, is not what I define as support.
I assure you, any and all devs working on the Note 8 are aware of the very, very small group of people that want an AOSP ROM.

There would be lot of people who dont upgrade mobile regularly (may be 6 months) some upgrade after 2 years. And u might be knowing samsung way of updates so aosp rom etc is very help to have a taste of latest updates. I know only note special things wont be working but many extra things u will get in these roms. Till now we are not able to use gcams! This shows development for this rom. Intent of this thread was to see popularity of this device and let dev see the demand:laugh:
Thanks for +1 people! Lets go guys!!
