I'm currently running a stock rooted kitkat note 3 as my daily driver for working at home. Recently I've noticed missing calls, calls not going through, and also text messages not going through despite having plenty of signal both on wifi and on cell. The s7 edge I have has none of these problems in the same place. Turning off wifi on my note magically fixes the issue and suddenly texts have no problem being sent again. Keeping wifi off isn't a viable solution though. I've also noticed that there is some type of handoff that is occuring between 4G LTE and 4G (as indicated by the notification bar). I'm seeing the icon periodically go back and forth between the 4G icon and the 4G lte icon. Signal strength on both looks ok too. I've flashed NC2 and OC1, as well as some other ROMs and the issue persists.
Anyone have some ideas for me to try? (i'm out of them on my end).
I highly recommend this ROM:

Lately, my G1 has been switching to edge speeds while I connect to the net. On occasions, the signal also dies (No Bars at all). This has been happening for about a week now. It's never happened before, anyone know the issue?
Also, I've been having issues with my text messages being sent 3 times when I send 1.
Hi-
I have a Nexus One and I am having a problem where if I am in a location where there is HSPA available, then my phone loses 3G and HSPA connection. My phone has a 3G icon, but in the testing menu it shows that is keeps flipping back and forth between HSDPA and UMTS. Also the up arrow continuously flashes, but I don't receive any data back.
When I leave the area with HSPA service and switch to another tower which has regular 3G then my phone works fine. I figure the issue has to do with my phone missing something or having a corrupted file that is not letting it connect to HSPA service.
My phone had no problem connecting to HSPA earlier this week but all of a sudden I am having problems.
Anyone have any ideas?
I'm on vacation in Fort Collins, CO and have been having similar problems with 3G
only showing the up arrown and never downloading. I got sick of it and switched to EDGE for the time being. My wife has an N1 also and it is doing the same thing, so it looks like it's not the phone. I switched over to CM6 which has the 3G and H indicators and it will only download data with the H never the
3G indicator.

I also have the same problem. When I am on HSDPA my up arrow gets "stuck" and I lose all data connection. Here is a link with others having the same issue. http://forum.androidspin.com/showthread.php?t=2720&page=2
Have a look at your apn settings in menu I had that prob and switched a few this around and got it kinda working

my build.prop file was apparently missing the necessary entries in it. I flashed CM6 and now it works again, although my phone now thinks I am in Phoenix instead of Dallas.
Phone was working fine then all of a sudden doesn't work. No change in the settings. Has to be network related.
Starting at around 1AM EST last night 7/11 and running until this moment I have been going back and forth between Service, No Service 3G no 3G, able to place a call and unable to place a call.
My bet is there working on the network with this new HSPA+ roll out. The problem seems to be in markets that are expecting the roll out. I live in Jacksonville Fl. Up until last night I had flawless 3G and Data. It was terribly fast but I had it.
Now over the last 12 hours or so 3g Voice and data has been intermittent with no settings made to the phone.
[Q] Cell reception indicator constantly flips between "no reception" display and bars
I'm using the Xperia Z3 Compact on TMobile's network in the US.
About 1/4 of the time when I turn on the display the phone indicates that it has no cell reception:
1) The phone shows no bars of reception, and a red X over the bars
2) The lock screen reads "Emergency calls only"
However, within a second or two the phone appears to acquire an excellent signal and I get a full 3-4 bar display. All of the areas in which I use the phone are marked as "Excellent" on TMobile's coverage maps.
This also happens intermittently while I'm using the phone. I'm not sure if it's actually losing the signal or if it's just a software issue. I've never had it drop a call or cut out while I'm talking.
I'm getting only acceptable battery life from the phone (about 25% at the end of the day) despite light usage and conservative app installation, even though this phone has a reputation for excellent battery life. My theory is that this might have to do with the phone constantly disconnecting from the network and then having to re-aquire a signal.
Anyone else had this experience with the Z3C?
Hey mate.. I posted the exact same issue a couple of months back. I was experiencing this exact same issue.
I've had my LTE disabled for about a month now and haven't had a single drop.
Not sure if LTE is a dealbreaker but since my device is a business line, I can "suffer" with better battery life and slower internet if I'm not dropping calls. I've considered trying a ROM with updated radio firmware but figured I'd wait to see what the current Lollipop update does ('ll re-enable LTE once I install it and see if it repeats the same behavior) for my phone before trying a 3rd party system.
Hope this helps

Thanks! Really gratifying to know that it's not just my device. Seems like there's a strong possibility this is the issue since I'm on a MVNO that's only been on this LTE network a few months. I've flipped the device into GSM only mode and we'll see if it helps.
Dumb question how do i flip it into gsm?

I'm having the same issue as you have described. For now I've set the phone to 3G prefered. Looks instantly better. Signal strength is also better.
Provider: Simyo (KPN network) - The Netherlands
Edit - Issue solved:
I switched from the Lollipop Baltic ROM to the Lollipop KPN carrier ROM for The Netherlands. The switching is gone for me. Battery life drastically went up.
Any update on this? I just started experiencing this issue out of no where about 2 weeks ago. I'm not rooted or anything, can't afford to due to job security requirements and such.
Just wondering how Volte is working for everyone after lollipop 5.0 update. I had to disable the feature on 4.4 because switching between 4g, edge or lte would just drop calls the hand off was terrible and my calls would just drop everytime I was on the phone with someone while driving or walking around. Strange thing is I never had that issue in my note 3.
Update on my own question dropped calls still happen frequently on Volte
No issues here so far. Didn't have any on kk either. However everywhere I go had LTE or WiFi.
Never had issue. Ur setup is not right either with apn or tower by you getting work done. Or even network. ? tmo and open a ticket.
BAD ASS NOTE 4
Have you guys tried this link ?

I have an unlocked At&T Samsung Note 3 (N900A), that is currently having problems with strong connections to T-mobile networks.
It does occasionally connect to the network but it has a constant drop off and unbelievable slowness when out calling. The averages 2 bars out of the 5, and the system barely even connects to data (but when it does it is 4G LTE, usually when standing still or near a cell tower)
I have set the APN according to t-mobile's instructions (for the N900T) support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-27711
I am currently limited to an original T-Mobile Prism (3G) at the moment, and I really want to start using this phone as my daily driver, but if I cannot have even working calls, whats the point.
Does anyone have any solution to increase the connection fidelity? I really want to start using this phone as my daily driver, but if I cannot have even working calls, whats the point.

Might be the network don't like the N900a as I'm on Metropcs with my N900a and signal is bad too. I have tried different APN settings with no luck. I have tried stock NC2 Rom and rooted and currently on [ROM]AryaMod V8.3 TW Lollipop For ATT [Port] and no better signal. I'm only quarter mile from cell tower.
