Hi Everybody,
TL; DL
Modem N910FXXU1DPG1
Bootloader N910FXXS1DPG1
Fixed problem for me
Long story:
I had problem with random reboots/shutdowns and thethering locks (after some time no data over mobile network) on my note 4 N910F for about 3 maybe 4 months,
I thought this problem is rom related, so i have checked Emotion roms both Marshmallow (6.0.1) and Nougat (7.1.1) also i have checked stock and stock de-bloated rom but problems where still appearing.
Also I thought that problem maybe caused by Hangouts because very often after receiving Hangout message on my pc and then checking my phone it was off. So i run several days without Hangouts but still same issue.
For some time I thought maybe my battery was dying so i replaced it with new oem one , still same thing.
So once i was at place with bad mobile coverage so i have choose manually other signal provider and tether internet from my phone but not so long that my data locked.
Since i have manually chooseother provider my phone stayed at roaming and in WCDMA mode (i have no LTE on the roaming)
And my phone haven't rebooted/shutdown once in week !
So from that moment i knew that something smelly was going on with LTE modem, and my search for proper bootloader/modem started.
I have checked old ones , new ones from battlehero Note 4 - Bootloader and Modem Collection but nothing helped so i was convinced that my modem is damaged
Afters some digging in rom threads i saw that I'm not only one with this issue so there was two options:
There was mass issue with modem hardware like NOTE 1 nand memory
There is problem with modem software for some ppl
So i have searched and searched for some other modems and bootloaders , and i have finally found combination that worked for me!
Modem N910FXXU1DPG1
Bootloader N910FXXS1DPG1
Since installing this CP and BL i have no restart/shutdowns and no tetering locks
Thank you _alexndr for posting CP/BL collection
how many time are you tested this solution ?

Hey All,
I have recently upgraded to the latest MIUI and an having trouble registering my phone on my carriers network.
Before anyone asks, yes, I have confirmed that my IMEI is correct post upgrade. The problem is that my carrier is simply not found when searching for networks?
I have tried flashing the CM7 KC1 radio (kc1 is the modem I was using on froyo) and still my carriers network is not found.: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=980495
Any suggestions as what to try before I head back to darky's rom?
Thanks all.
have you tried to lock and unlock the sreen if it doesn't work reboot(press power button for 10 secs) or you should try to flash back to earlier version
Yeah, I tried that. Think I'm just going to roll back for now. I've tried everything I can think of and my carrier simply won't appear ( i see others, simply not mine ).
Thanks for the reply.
Wrong CSC etc for your carrier = manual entry of APN etc .

Hallo members,
I need help.
The cell phone of my daughter does not connect to the cell phone provider.
The history:
My daughter bought 6 mounts ago an Samsung Galaxy S3 mini. She made many pictures and videos , so that both memories of the phone was full. Than she made an official update vrom version 4.1.1 to 4.1.2. After some days she got problems to make a call. She cant make a call by her self, and also she cant got a call. If she tried to call, the got a notification, that the cell phone does't registred by provider. The phone was not rooted and has a stock room on those time.
My activities to solve this problem:
I read many threads about brocken IMEI, or problems with base band, but on this phone ist the IMEI ok, also baseband.
At first I made a factory reset.
Second I rooted this phone and flashed an custom room from maclaw. But this does't solwed my problem too.
If I start this phone, I got always an notification message in the top of display, that the cell phone provider does't selected. If I try to search one provider, I see in the phone all available provider on my geo position, included my cell phone provider. This search lasts very long, about 5 minuts. After the search is finished, I try to connect to my cell phone provider, but without occur. I get a message that the connection is not possible on this moment, and I have to connect later.
At last I try to change radio from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548453&page=2, but also without success.

HI, and sorry for my late answer.
I tried to configure like your description, but it dos'n help. Thank you anyway.
What I tried to make also. I installed a rooted stock rom, and update after that to a new radio XXAMJ3, but it does'n help to solve my problem to. I can't make a call, or send a SMS anyway.
Have somebody an idea to solve this problem?
The SIM card oft this cell phone works very fine. I tested it with another phone.
Exactly I am with the same problem. There is no issue about sim card or service providers. It is all about the phone. Please tell me the solution.

You don't have warranty?
---------- Post added at 03:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:11 PM ----------
You may try others baseband versions, If none of them fix the problem it's probably hardware related.
A simple way to do that is flashing different versions of stock firmware, just make sure it's for the right variant GT-I8910 N L T
Is there a fix?
Long story short...
My son's i8190n has been rooted for over 2 years. He has a new phone and I proceeded to update to a new rom. After that I think I messed up the modem/baseband somehow. The recovery is TWRP from maclaw.pl. At some point I even managed to soft brick this phone. I was able to use Odin 3.10 to install a stock rom unrooted.
I can:
* Install any rom and/or baseband
* Leave it unrooted or rooted
* Everything seems to work fine except...
I can't:
* Register the phone to my network
Tried different SIM(s) from different providers, but still no go.
Any suggestions?
Yesterday I got an S4 Active and as it featured Android version 4.2.2. I proceeded to update it OTA to 4.4.2. I did this with no SIM card inserted.
I then rooted the device and put my SIM card in it. But all I got was a "forbidden" icon on the notification bar. Before you even ask, I tried everything:
. Locked the device to 3G + 2G
. Locked the device to 3G only
. Locked the device to 2G only
I figured something must have killed the radio on this device during the update, but these were purely stock updates conducted via Samsung's own OTA system.
Today, at work, where network reception is VERY, VERY strong, I got 3/4 bars in 4G, 1/4 bar in 3G and 1/4 bar in 2G. Therefore, the radio on this device isn't killed, but network reception is very poor... Yes, I get full bars in any radio with any other phone with the same SIM card.
Unfortunately I haven't tested network reception with Android 4.2.2, just to make sure there was nothing wrong with the update.
Apart from sending the phone to repair... and before I start flashing unofficial CM builds and custom ROMS just for the sake of trying something... Where can I download the stock 4.2.2 files to use with Odin? Searched everywhere in the S4 Active forums and couldn't find it (or any other stock firmware for that matter, seems like only ATT&T versions were posted).
Thanks.

Hi there,
Try to wipe everything and to flash the stock Rom again. Me, too I had huge problems after I flashed the new stock the first time. Check in device info for you baseband. If the baseband version is not the one of the new 4.4.2 (NE5), then you definitely have to flash again.
I hope this helps. Best of luck and Godspeed.

Hi... Ive just registered to ask if you found a solution to this problem. I just bought a second hand s4 active and im having the same problem... I was going to roll back to stock 4.2.2 from updated stock 4.4.2 untill i read that it might brick the phone... I flashed cm11 last night but unfortunately still cant get any better then H+.... After many hours of research im getting desperate for some help... Otherwise the phone is in great condition and it would be very disapointing to have wasted my hard earned cash on a phone thats not even capable of downloading apps.....

First time poster, long time lurker, absolute phone novice.
I am using a i9305 (Hong Kong model, bought from Kogan Australia). I am based in Malaysia. Before all this I just popped my sim card in and utilised the stock ROMs. No issues with 4G or network whatsoever, but the phone got really slow after 4.3 to I decided to install CM11 using Heimdall.
Long story short, I absolutely screwed it up, and the phone showed the "software fail" screen. After scouring XDA and undertaking a number of fixes which didn't work (I'm scared this is what screwed my phone), I finally worked out to flash the Hong Kong stock 4.3 ROM using Odin, which brought my phone back to me. However, now I can only pick up Edge and barely get network reception. It is definitely not a sim issue as my sim in my wife's identical i9305 picks up 4G and network within a second of switching on.
I've searched every thread but cannot find an answer which works.I've flashed a whole bunch of modems but to no avail. I hope I haven't screwed my phone. Threads I've utilised include:

Have you tried wiping your cache in stock recovery (or whatever recovery you have, I can't really tell from your post)? I think you had problems with CM11 since you likely dirty flashed (no wipe of cache, data and system) and used Heimdall instead of flashing it through a custom recovery.
Possible answer

When you wipe the whole system to change to another rom, there is always a good chance that you can lose the modem during the process. Rom's may come with their on custom modem , but may not be fully compatible. try to download and flash with odin the modem of the stock rom once again. Your problem is related with the modem
Sorry for not responding, I was in Korea for work and left the bad phone back at home for the past 3 weeks.
I tried the clearing cache, but no good.
I will try flash the stock modem now (see below I notice the difference).
I noticed while syncing my google account that the IMEI on my phone had changed. Would this have anything to do with the issues I am facing? The below is my "before and after".
Model: GT-I9305
Hardware Id: 354720053386061

Stock modem didn't work.
Factory reset, odin flashed the stock software again (with the stock modem). Same issue.
Followed instructions on this page for missing IMEI: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...warning-guide-backup-restore-imei-nv-t1946915
Tried *#06# but still no IMEI.
Any solutions?
Tried everything I read in lyquidperfection's awesome mega-thread, but nothing works. still got a /01 when I type *#06# and in the 'about' section it now shows IMEI: Unknown.
Everything else works fine, just the internet is stuck on Edge.
so I tried a few more things today but to no avail.
The IMEI shows up as "Unknown" in the phone settings and when I do *#06* I get a /01 message.
However, when I check my IMEI against my Google account, I get the above number.
Any suggestions as how to fix?
as of today, new modem is being release. I9305XXUFNI3
info here
for modem u can read this
download links from page, or this link
im quite new, but i hope this helps.
Thanks. Didn't work, still Edge.
Going to try flash again.
You could try running a different country's stock ROM, or maybe seeing whether you get 4G while using a custom ROM (Liquidsmooth maybe).

1. Restore a working QCN backup (like this one) http://www.mediafire.com/download/4j...4_19-53-39.rar through the download tool of the QPST suite
2. Change the IMEI to match yours. <<<<. DON'T SKIP THIS STEP. There are many way to do this, i used RF NV manager. I can't be more specific since this topic is off-limits on XDA.
3. Perform a factory reset.
I can't test LTE connection, because where I live there is no coverage, but I'll try as soon as I can.

For absolute n00bs like me:
Step #1, use QPST Suite from this thread to install the QCN backup as per above: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...warning-guide-backup-restore-imei-nv-t1946915
Step #2, uninstall QPST, follow this thread (post #4): http://rootzwiki.com/topic/32397-tutorial-imei-backup-nv-with-qpst-us-variants/
>> I didn't have the US version LTE phone, but it works on my LTE International
Step #3, go into recovery and wipe cache and factory reset.
>> *#06# should show your imei, and your 4G should be back. mine came back instantly two months of pain over!!!!!!!!
Does anybody know of a data fix i can flash on my n901w8 note 4. Ive been trying to get a visionx rom going on my phone, but the phone keeps insisting i dont have a sim card. I was able to get service, but the phone kept losing it every few minutes. Hoping someone has a solution to this problem, because it seems every custom rom i flash has a data issue and my phone carrier hardly works with it (wind).
This has been discussed on many note 4 forums over the past couple of weeks.... until recently Canadians did not get the 5.1.1 firmware for our device which means the bootloader and baseband for other carriers were not compatible to ours. This is one of the first 5.1.1 custom roms released for n910w8 that I am aware of http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/moving-please-dont-post-t2943845 and I'm almost certain there are Developers who are already customizing roms based on this new release. I'd suggest you check in to the T-mobile note 4 forums from time to time.. Good!
