New OP3T volume rocker / power button feedback - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Hello guys,
I have been using OP3 for 7 months and I was happy with it, I got an opportunity to sell my OP3 and got a brand new OP3T, but the buttons feedback on the OP3T feels weird compared to OP3, OP3 buttons were more sturdy. The buttons on the OP3T are kinda soft and little loose, it registers my touch much easily compared to OP3 which needed little force.

Experiencing the same situation buddy.
I think its normal.
P.s- i contacted a guy in op and he said that its ok

Stiff Buttons

Received my Moto G (2nd Generation) yesterday and power and volume buttons seem a little stiff. Have to press quite hard for them to register. Is it normal or did I get a dud? I had power buttons issues with two NEXUS 4s hence why I am a little concerned.
PS: 2nd gen moto is a worthy upgrade to the NEXUS 4. The only issues is lack of memory. If you have both FB app and Chrome open for an example, it may kick FB off the memory. Not a big deal tho, takes 2 sec to reload.
They are a bit stiff but I thinm they just made it that way since so many complained about the "shaky" buttons of the last version :b
Mine are stiff too, but they work perfectly. The buttons on the "old" Moto G are quite loose, imo that's an improvment. Normally the buttons get a bit softer after some weeks of use.
That's good to hear. I suppose the original Moto G's buttons are bit too soft.

Volume Rocker Rattle

Is anyone else having issues with the volume rocker being loose and rattling? Mine pretty much makes a noise everyone I go to grab the device, it's pretty annoying but I don't want to go through a RMA if it's just how the phone is. I remember with my Nexus 5 that the power button was a little less than solid and every replacement I got was a different degree of loose.

I'm on my THIRD (Letters falling off, dented back from the factory) Nexus 6 and this one is great, except for this little flaw. If everything else is OK I'd just deal with it man. I might look at putting a drop or two of silicone or something to take away the rattle.
Yes. The volume buttons are loose.
This is a video of me demonstrating this:

Camera button is waaaay too soft. :( Is it just mine? Thinking about returning it..

Hello!
I am an (almost) happy owner of the XZ1 Compact.
I also have a Z3 Compact, and also tried Z5C because a friend has it, but both have a good shutter button.
The shutter/camera button on my XZ1 Compact is crazy soft. barely feel the 2 stages and the button "triggers" the action at a very low point.
The Z series had a very much firm/clicky touch to them(which I love).
The fact is that I cannot say mine is a completely defective unit, as it does not seem totally damaged, maybe this is the whole series feeling or is it bad luck? And, more importantly, cannot test it on another XZ1 Compact. There is none in the shops and I know no one who have it.
How is your experience with this and the overall phone?
My Z3 Compact is still working(struggling) to keep up and makes a decent job.
Not sure if to keep/return the XZ1 Compact though, so many concerns about it: no double tap to wake/sleep in the future, XZ3 having an big enough battery and being a good competitor, updates being dropped on this phone after the Android Pie, etc...
Any impressions/suggestion on this one is very welcomed.
Thank you!

I've owned a Z1c, Z3c and now XZ1c. I think my one critisium of the camera button in the past was that it was too hard. So I noticed that a lot of pictures would come out blurred when I'd been pressing the shutter button, because the stiffness of the button meant I ended up rocking the phone to be able to completely deperess it.
I think that the button is much improved on the XZ1c, not so stiff to press, less likely to cause blurr.

i would agree with this, it's about right for me. my z3 pics always blurred when i used the camera button, seems better on the xz1c.
very difficult to say whether it's an issue with your unit. it's definitely a subtle mechanism, but i have to press down reasonably hard to get to the second stage, it's certainly not something i could trigger by accident.
Mine is soft, too. I assumed it was to afford a half-press to engage autofocus. The clicky feel when doing a full press of the camera button feels nice, so it doesn't bother me.

Build quality ?

Hi there !
Could anyone tell me how is the in hand feel of the XZ1C compared to other phones ?
Are the buttons mushy and cheap or tight and accurate ?
Any other impressions
I had 3 Compact models from Sony yet and each was pretty solid. No creaks, button works perfectly.
I've had mine for 12 months now, and can honestly say it is rock solid, no button creaks or mushy feel to them..
Fantastic little device
Same here, quite content with this model. Buttons are working perfect since 1 year (fingerprint too) and the only bad point is the material (plastic) of the back, makes my phone slips easily in the hand.
More than ten times has fallen from my hands and still looks like the first day i bought. (a big bonus for the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 screen)

Question Stiff Buttons

Hi,
I just recently became a proud owner of this phone, but the first thing I noticed right off the bat was that the buttons are not as clicky and tactile as I'm used to being, coming from the OnePlus 6 I can definitely say the button feels a bit stiff and quite mushy, I'm using it with the default silicone case. Is it just me?

yes. From 1+7 pro. this phone has tiny and stiff buttons.
Buttons are not stiff. Remove rhe case and see for yourself. It is the case that is the problem
Nope. Not stiff.
The buttons are considered well built and strong with no rattling or moving parts.
You might be used to old, low quality buttons like the OnePlus 6 where the button will be pressed with just a slight touch..and that is not a good thing.
