OP3 vs OP3T have the same lcd?? - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Does the OP3T have the same lcd as OP3? I have a broken lcd on a OP3T and when i compare picture on a OP3 lcd vs a OP3T lcd they look the same, does anyone know if i can use the lcd from OP3 on my 3T? Is the flexcabel connector the same?

Yes same exact thing. look on youtube at jerry rig everything video teardown on the op3. both are the same

Because the OP3T lcd cost the doubble then the OP3 on eBay.

Hi, just wanted an update, i also have broken my 3T screen. Have you installed OP3 Display? did you feel any difference? Thanks

you can have a try.
But be aware of your own risk~

huawei p9 or galaxy s7

i want buy huawei p9 but i'm hesitated between p9 and galaxy s7 especially for the quality of display, any suggest?
I have not seen S7 in person. I have the P9, and very very happy with the phone, but maybe the S7 is a step above. But, for me, the difference of price is not worth at all. The P9 is a very great device. If the S7 would be cheaper, I would have some doubts.

the display in s7 is QHD, P9 is full HD, it's really a remarquable difference on the eye? the display is one of my primary options, cause the two phones are very powerfull and my doubt in P9 is just in the display quality against galaxy s7!!!
I had an LG G4 with QHD as well.. while it's great and pleasant to the eyes, it's also drain your battery like hell, meaning that I needed to charge my phone every day.. Now, idk how much battery S7 has, but, P9 with FHD display looks great.. even at the sun light...

P9 display look great,in this screen size ,qhd and fhd give the same result on the eye,u won't notice any difference
who take in his hand both p9 and s7 and how was the display difference?
I was pretty torn between the P9 and S7 too. Both are pretty great but I ended up going for the P9, the screen looks just fine and you wont notice a major difference between the QHD and FHD except for the S7 draining the battery just a tad quicker. The USB-C was a nice addition too and the main thing I'll miss from the S7 is the Amoled display which is a bit of a bummer.
I've used S7E and "went down" to P9.
The only minus is the battery, 600mAh lower.
The other minus is slow charging with a normal charger/power bank, compared to S7E.

Is OnePlus 3T Daydream-ready?

Any official words about Daydream VR support on OnePlus 3T? Since Snapdragon 821 is optimized for the same.
nope
Unfortunately not. I would appreciate it, if it will come with the Android 7 Update.

Wrote a post on this a few days ago. link: forums.oneplus.net/threads/why-the-oneplus-3-can-handle-daydream-with-complete-explanation.475412/
It's for the 3, but I assume the results are the same for the 3T.
Long story short, yes, the 3T has the required hardware specifications to run Daydream. It's a matter of OnePlus deciding to get their devices certified, and push an update with Nougat.
Still no support for Daydream yet. I was going to buy a cheap headset as I have never tried VR before. Any recommendations? Should I wait for Daydream?
1080p is barely enough for VR and the slightly curved display distorts the view from what I've read. So while possible not that great.
If you change some lines of code you can get it working. I got it running on my 3t

OnePlus 3T with OnePlus 3 Specs

So I've Received my oneplus 3T today in the mail. Curious about the specs I installed Geekbench 4.
To Discover my OP3T has a snapdragon 820 inside clocked at 2.19 Ghz instead of a snapdragon 821???
Am I going insane or is this a Huge fU up on oneplus their end? I already own a OP3 So why pay more for same specs!?
It feels like I've actually been scammed.
FYI: Yes I've purchased it from their official website OnePlus.net

I'm pretty sure I read that It's because the model number is the same as the op3, and the app uses this model number to look up the spec list, which pulls the 3 and not the 3t since it existed prior to the 3t release.
This has been brought up before a few times on the Oneplus reddit.
Mine also reports correctly as an 821 on Aida64 and CPUZ.
use aida64
Both the SD 820 and 821 share the msm8996 model designation so that may be where the chip detection is not accurate.
3.5.4 is only for the 3T, so you have a 3T.
Those apps work from a database and not reading the actual components. As the 3T is also A3003, those apps "think", it is a 3, but it's not.
What display Panel ID is AIDA64 showing for you guys? Is it the same Samsung s6e3fa3 from the OP3 or is it the s6e3fa5?
Same for battery... Some apps show 3000 (from database), others 3400 (from reading system). AIDA shows both
how's the brightness? I saw 3 and it was very dim even on max brightness. I was hoping it will be better in 5, but looks that didn't happen...

got a defected op3t... need new phone

Hello.. pixel in my country costs 1200$+- !!
While - HTC 10, G5, S7 and 3t are 550$+-
Now I don't think I want S7 because no USB-C and because I had the 3t I switched all my chargers to USB-C
The G5 brand is LG and they have many problems in all their phones (Bootlops and battery become bad after year of use and such) so I don't think I want it either...
The 3t has almost no insurance in my country because it's not a "known" company so support will be difficult to get.. (same goes for xiaomi and such)
And HTC.................... The "10" is all I'm left with and I'm really not sure if I want it... But it's all I consider now.. what do you think??
I want a
9+/10 camera
8+/10 battery
7.5+/10 display
7+/10 performance
And 6+/10 build quality
What phone do you think will suit me the most?
HTC Ultra??? I'm sorry you got a defective device man! That's what happened to me with the ZTE AXON 7 I returned it and blamed the company. Shouldn't do that

Id just say stick with the 3t. The latest 4.1 update is nice, everything is faster and better feeling. Run with FreedomOS. Nice simple debloater installer. No real reason not to use a OnePlus device in 2017. Its so affordable and good it just feels like a nice phone that will last a long while.
If you are yearning for an expensive phone then go for the Huawei Mate 9. Its got machine learning built in so it will achieve all your points once it figures you out.
If you really need a new phone instead of the 3t, I would recommend the Honor 8, sure the Honor 8 isn't as great as the 3t, but in many places you can find it even cheaper than the 3t and it's almost as fast as the 3t!

What will your next phone be ?

Hello guys ,
So i was currently thinking of upgrading my oneplus 3
But i couldn't settle on a certain phone , the only 2 phones in my mind would be the oneplus 7 pro and Samsung galaxy s10 plus since both cost the same where i live , let me know what you think guys
I am going to wait for the Pixel 4 and then make a decision..
I would choose the 7 Pro over the S10 Plus for its VFM and screen!
The s10's price is diving so you may be able to pick up a bargain. Depends on your criteria.
Sent from my GM1913 using Tapatalk
Currently using the 3T and will be upgrading to the s10 plus. I'm just waiting for the price of the s10 plus to dip a bit further down. Personally I think the s10 plus is more equipped with features and well rounded.

Ordered the Oneplus 7 pro (Almond colour) 8/256, will arrive tomorrow. Very excited.
But will still keep my OP3 with me for as long as it lives.

The S10 plus is a really great phone but i keep getting pulled away due to the below points
1. Touch wiz and the history of updates
2. Developer community always better on one plus devices
3. The notchless screen on the oneplus 7 pro makes it look much appealing the s10 plus screen .

Congrats , let us know what you think when you receive it
I get your point. Samsung is refining oneui to bring it closer to stock android and is increasing update supports for it's flagships, according to latest reports and that's good enough for me.
Oneplus phones surely has more community support, but nowadays phones with stock roms has got so much better that the idea of installing custom roms is becoming less tempting.
The 7 Pro may look more appealing because of it's all screen design, but I still have some reservations about the pop up camera with regards to how long it will remain functional as a moving part.
I'm not trying to convince you as to why the s10 plus is a better phone then the 7 Pro because both phones are great in their own way, I'm just sharing my personal reason why I'm going to get the s10 plus as my next phone.

Personally I'm keeping my op3 as long as it's working and not struggling with doing anything. However of it were to die tomorrow I'd be looking at he op7 pro, the Xiaomi black shark 2, or the oppo Reno 10x zoom
Take a look at Xiaomi Mi 9
Zenfone 6 since it will officially receive lineage os. I don't like the size of the phone and just 18W charging but it has the greatest battery life.
If the s10e becomes cheaper and receives lineage os, I'll gladly opt for it.

The pixel devices are always highly priced
I'm looking for a mate 20 pro, I'm waiting for huawei/trump fight to end (I don't want to buy a phone that is not going to have android Q).
Also I'm a little bit annoyed to not be able to unlock bootloader.
But mate 20 pro is what I want, great camera and battery

You have the budget for the S10, so I don't see why you can't buy the Pixel
Right now in India, the smaller pixel 3 is priced lower than the s10. I don't know how much it is in your country.
Pretty sure the smaller pixel 4 variant will be around the same price range.
I sure as hell won't buy a device with a notch and no headphone jack. I am at minority here but those are my requirements for now.
Redmi K20 Pro and Zenfone 6Z are top contenders for my money (I don't want to go back to IPS LCD but might have to). OnePlus phones are naturally out because they decided to "follow trend" and removed headphone jack. OP3 is working fine for my usage and i don't need the best camera, an average camera will do for me so no appeal of Pixel 4 to me at all. So for now, yeah, not many options, K20 pro is choice 1, zenfone 6z being 2nd.
I'm thinking about OP6 as it's the last OP with headphone Jack and notification LED. I know the notch isn't great but for me, small notch + OLED > LCD.
OP7, not the pro version because I definitely do not want a phone with moving parts. No Samsung, I have nothing with the brand...
But as others said before, will keep using my OP3T as long as possible. Fast, two days of battery life, great camera and straight forward; still did not find a good reason for making a switch. ..
I'd buy an iPhone, currently using oneplus 3, lasted for 2years. Still snappy with good battery backup.
