restore data after unlocking bootloader - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My question is when i unlock bootloader on my c6903 can i restore my data partition ? Beacause i have XZ dual recovery

Backup data first on your PC or sd-card before unlocking bootloader. But be aware that if you unlock bootloader you cant retrive data from PC-Companion.

[Q] Backup TA Partition

Can someone please help me on this.
What is TA Partition and what are DRM Keys.
If we want to back-up our TA partition what we should do
1. Rooting and then unlock the boot loader or
2. Unlock the boot loader and then rooting
If we should first root the device and then unlock, can we root the device without unlocking the boot loader.
Root without unlocking bootloader, then backup your TA..

[Q] Unlock BL & restore Data

Unlocking BL will format the /data partition. I made cwm backup before. After unlocking, can i safely restore the data partition? Afterwards the phone should be in state as before unlocking, right?

Hi @peters,
If ur considering unlocking ur BL, then i hope youve made a backup of your TA partition(the partition containing DRM keys needed for Bravia Engine 2)?Restoring the data partition wont relock your bootloader. If u want to relock your bootloader then you have to flash a stock kernel, make sure you are rooted and then restore your TA partition. Or you can use Flashtool to relock your BL.
Hope this helps
Yes i made backup of TA. With restoring of Data partition i wanted to have the phone in the same state as before unlocking. Of course with the difference of loosing Bravia and not using Fota.

[Q] Restore of TA partition

I bought sp once again after the first one got broken but this one have bootloader unlocking not allowed(but no simlock).
Correct me if i'm wrong: If i do try unlocking bootloader and it won't work, can i restore TA and flash stock and phone 'll be allright?

does wipe bootloader unlock wipe all data on p8 lite ?

It's not clear for me.
Unlocking bootloader on a p8lite will erase automatically all data on the phone ?
Thanks and Regards.
Unlocking bootloader wipes nothing, it just unlocks the bootloader
But it seems that for security reasons boot loader starts data wipe on unlock.
It never wiped anything on my phone when unlocked it but if you want to be sure that it will not wipe your data just flash TWRP directly after unlocking bootloader and before reboot

How to do a complete Nandroid backup without unlocking boot loader?

Is it possible to do a full backup without root or an unlocked bootloader? Given there's no fastboot this seems like a challenge.
