[Guide]Root, flash stock rom, relock bootloader, Q&A anything about zenfone 4

I no longer supported for this device because i just buy iphone 5s !
This method only can uses for WW phone
Install driver before doing anything down here : https://software.intel.com/system/files/managed/1e/e8/IntelAndroidDrvSetup1.10.0.zip

Downgrade, un-brick and get back to stock rom from custom ROM
This version of this method is 4.3.11 (Android 4.3)
What you need to flash and relock bootloader
Relock bootloader (if your bootloader is locked u don't need to relock)
- Relock bootloader file : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2nQaa7nDG3FTEtTYTFLQ1NuNE0/view?usp=sharing
- Boot into droidboot and run file relock.bat from .rar file and enter
- Done !
Flash stock ROM
- ADB, fastboot (google pls!)
- System, boot, radio, .... files (download all) : https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/0B2nQaa7nDG3FSFYwRzBJOF8tYTA
- Put adb, fastboot, system.img, boot, and some more file in a folder
- Boot into droidboot and run abc.bat and enter
- Done !
Note : If your back and menu button not working just update new versions in asus.com
If you need to root android 4.x, Google have it !

Put updateCWM.zip and adb, fastboot in 1 folder, put supersu zip in sdcard
Boot your phone into droidboot and run this command : fastboot flash update updateCWM.zip
Wait until boot again installs supersu zip and reboot (if CWM asks fix su or anythings keep say no)
Rooted !

after that, the touch panel firmware will auto fix when u upgrading

Some People are frustrated and ask many questions about how to root ze550kl when they cant unlock bootloader
Here is the Guide
You need to backup your data !!! This is the fresh Rom it will delete all of your apps and data
Before You Start
1/ make sure that you install all the ASUS driver needed in your PC
2/Enable Usb Debugging From Developer Option

You can backup apps+appdata using ASUS Backup app.
You don't need to do wipe userdata. Internal memory will be unaffected. I have flashed all pre rooted ROMs from 1.13 to 1.17 without deleting userdata or factory reset. The only annoying thing is that your first boot will show up "Android is upgrading " which will take around 40mins to reach homescreen. Just wipe cache.

System + user apps with data
I am assuming you have stock Rom installed.
If yes, you don't even need to backup anything, if no you will have to backup atleast app data (you will understand when you use the backup app) and restore using the same app after flashing pre rooted firmware.
If I had wiped from recovery, I would lose data, which I don't want as I am too lazy to set up my phone again and again. Also restoring from Backup app takes time. I know I can avoid the "android is upgrading" but I don't want to spend time on frequent restoring, though I always keep a backup of mini militia to save game data since it bothers me:silly:

It's almost useless to root without unlocking bootloader. If you can't flash custom ROMs then it's of no use. I would be happy if you can find a way to unlock bootloader unofficially coz official unlock app does not work

Not really. Root is still very useful for some of us. Some people tend to prefer stock roms and will even upload heavily customized versions of stock firmware. Hell, I've even seen devices with the most hacked together root solution that was hard earned development-wise because it evolved painfully slow as it all revolved around a partial root solution that prevented full on custom or bone stock roms like CM or AOSP.
My point is, if you can't find root useful without a custom rom, then you're doing it wrong.
What do you even do with root?

You can root if you have unlocked bootloader but converse is not always true. We are going to get updates for MM. Its impractical to spend time on patching every official firmware to gain root access. Instead, everyone should focus on unlocking bootloader. The best use of rooting this device would be if we can unlock bootloader with root access. I have been trying to achieve it since the day I bought this phone. Most users gave up but I won't! I quote @LuK1337, "ROOT means nothing unless we can unlock bootloader"

[Root] Rooting any official MIUI version on Redmi Note 4g

I found it on web and i don't really remember from where i got it but its not my work so all credits to whom so ever it may be concerned.
##Please proceed at your own risk, i am note responsible for any damage to your device or any data loss.
Below is a zip file that will root nearly any version of MIUI on Redmi Note 4g.
Tried and tested on miui 7 & 8.
##Need Someone to test on MIUI 6##
Its a superuser flashable zip rooting file for Redmi Note 4g only.

**To Root**
Please make a backup of your data before starting to root your device.
Recommended: Do not connect to any internet network such as wifi,gprs,3G/4G...
to avoid update searching issue till the process is over.
1)Download the above rooting .zip file from the above URL and save it into your internal/external SD Card(Recommend in your internal SD Card).
2) Now open Updater App of MIUI and open options.(3 dots in the right at the top)
3) Now choose the option "Choose Update Package". Now the file manager will get open.
4)Locate the .zip file that you downloaded in the file manager and click on it(For MIUI 8: After clicking on the file it gets selected and then click on ok).
5)Wait for the process to get over. Phone will restart and you will see the superuser app installed now.
6)Now open the app and a pop up will come to update su.Click on Ok and in that select Normal/CWM or TWRP as per the recovery you have installed on your device.
7) That's it now your device is successful rooted.
##Note: Its not a native root.
**To UNROOT**
1)Just Open The SuperSU App
2)Click on Settings. Then, click On Full Unroot option.
3)Then Click Continue, and the unrooting will begin.
4)After a reboot, your phone should be clean of the root.

I used KINGRoot. Just download the APK and run. So far no any issue seen

Ya its an alternative method to it but using kingroot my experience is not good.
It couldn't not help to fully unroot my device also if i needed to use super su it gave me problem.
If it's working for u then its well and good but if u like super su more then u can use the above method.

iT may cause your phone no reaction while connecting to The Pc if you use The latest supersu version on supersu official website. I prefer phh's superuser . I rooted my mido perfectly With it.

I tried the above method but I accidentally selected twrp method when su asked to update.
Now the phone stuck at MI boot loop screen I can only access to fast boot mode but can't enter recovery mode.
So any help ?

Im also having same problem.
After flashing Su, it asked for reboot. When i reboot, it is stuck in MI logo and not restarting. i observed this for more than 10 hrs. When i tried to start with recovery, again it is stuck is FASTBOOT screen and not progressing. My phone is not usable now. Please help

Now I can not run anything flash recovery, only access to recovery. "RevolutionRecovery"
At the same error recovery "failed to mount '/ cust' (invalid argument)"
And not from the "mount" will also enable it
Logo stuck on the boot loader and the solution does not mind
Please tell me if the solution is

Try to flash Meticulus twrp zip using revolution recovery, since u said that the only recovery u got access right now.

Okay u need to go honor website for rollback instruction. There u will a get update .app. U need to put it in dload folder and then flash that by same method. After doing that u need to delete that dload folder and then put the full update in dload folder, then flash. And bang, u r in EMUI 4.1 I did tried it myself when rolling back to 4.1 from 5.0

its not for honor 5c aka honor 7 lite.... did you make twrp backup before installing? i always do that and then theres no worries if you fail installion.

I've downloaded the firmware itself and through "dload" installed.

most safe way to flash stuff is to make backup always before flashing since you never know when zip is corrupted etc.... :good: good tht your device works again!

What was your original firmware? You're best off flashing a firmware from FunkyHuawei via eRecovery to restore. You might need to use the rebranding tool first if there isn't a firmware available that matches your device. You can't flash the update.app via fastboot or TWRP
Or if you have the full firmware package follow instructions from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20/development/rebrand-huawei-p20-eml-l29-eml-l09-t3779283 and you might be able to recover without paying for FunkyHuawei

thanks for ur reply but how can i do it from that funky huawei site ? i managed to extract the update.app using a tool huawei updtae extractor skipping all checks and the phone comes up to life but the version of the build still the same 8.1.0.106(33) ROM version for CLT-L29 and i tried to get ride of root but with no success the stock ramdisk image dont wanna pass via adb.
the dload methode dont work neither i go firmware fialed for the force method and no scard for the project menu one.

I spoke to FunkyHuawei support and the fella there helped me out a ton and can't thank him enough. Give the support a message and they'll help you goooood.

I recovered my p20 a few hours ago.
Start by flashing the TWRP recovery and pushing the files to the phone using adb push. Also ensure you rename the files EXACTLY as in the picture instructions in the first link. It's easy to figure out. And don't forget to put the recovery file in there too. Ignore the red error. It works perfectly.

Yep it is installed but the storage seems corrupted and when i try to format the data from the wipe menu it give me an error

No its not, but its not ridiculously expensive either.
Its your choice, but the support is great and better to use their help than end up with a paperweight

nope i flash the update.app via adb after i extraced the system.img
the realz88 method didnt get it how to push the files via adb i dont know if he speak about adb sideload on twrp and i dont know the comands

Hey I'm having this issue as well.
How and what files did you push over adb?
I can't get my phone to connect to my pc, so I need to send the files over adb, if possible.
