This is a great little device.
Myself got two of these , and will probably stuck with one of them...
What do you think about the device ?
Is there something you'll like to have on an future OTA?
( maybe some huawei employee comes in and read it ) haha
Any downside ?
Cheers

I have a question for anyone who owns this device. It apparently has NFC but has anyone actually used it with android pay and did it work ? I contacted google support and they could not verify it was certified for android pay and suggested contacting manufacturer.
EDIT: I can now verify that android pay does indeed work well on this device, I have the european version.
Hello,
My question concerns shell:
Or can one find a shell for the European version, without imprint reader?
Thanks,
Hi,
I am planning to get a new phone. I was going to buy moto g4 plus but because of many negative feedback and heating issues, I am not going to buy that. I have not seen much posts about performance of Honor 5c, it must be either Honor 5c is performing well or there are not enough buyers to post on xda forum. Is there any issues about this phone I should be worried about?

Had the european version now for a few weeks. It runs well but i have disabled all the honor bloatware that came with it and am also using greenify. Don't want to root cause it may break my android pay so i can't completely remove the apps but disabling them is enough for now. No weird unexplained reboots/freezes till now and no lags. The G4+ has a bigger/brighter screen, according to the reviews I've read, but NFC was important to me and the G4+ doesn't have it.

Its been performing well, no weird software issues like on miui, smooth and stable, battery life is pretty amazing (check my screenshots), i also wanted to buy g4+ but the big size pushed me away, i just wish the speaker was a little better quality, can't really use it for watching YouTube videos, otherwise a good buy for me

5C has the great Camera and Great call receiving capacity due to its dual antenna in the $150 dollar segment. But other things were not good.
If you have extra 70$, you can go for G4 plus for great camera. But if you are a heavy gamer, I would say a big NO.
So it depends on your preferences.
I've lately been looking at the Mi Mix, and must say it it much more appealing than the S8 that one will be seeing everywhere shortly.
If ordered, it will probably be used with the Epic rom or similar. English or Norwegian language.
This in mind, which version should one order, and from where? I see many advertising with "global rom" and "multilanguage" etc. but I assume this does not matter if a custom rom will be used anyway?
The 256gb 18k is the one that's interesting.

It depends on what you will do with the device, how app-intensive is your day in the context of the number of apps you have open at any one time.
At this point though, there is little to no reason not to go for the 6Gb RAM/256Gb Storage version.
The Mix has good roms now (RR, Lineage) with no bugs, so if you're thinking about going that way, then the stock rom doesn't matter.
I would recommend going for having the Global rom when you're buying. Why? Because all devices are factory flashed with the chinese roms, but if you want a global one, then the vendor will take care of unlocking the device & they usually leave it that way, without bothering re-locking it again.
This means that you can flash from day 1 & don't need to bother applying for unlock permissions.

My apologies for not being specific in my original post. I'll be getting the 256gb Mi Mix, and was attempting to refer to which rom version to choose.
You did however answer that as well, which is much appreciated. Then I'll be looking for one with the global rom.
Have anyone ordered from Goldway on Ali? Lots of places sell these, but I'm not sure which are legit.
If you're in the USA I have an extra new 256Gb version I have decided to sell, was keeping it as a back up in case my daily Mix failed but have since decided I'd rather not have the money tied up in two Mi Mixes.
I'm in Norway, but shipping across the pond isn't that bad with USPS. Send me a PM with model details and a price if you're still interested in selling.

global rom supports multilanguage, google play etc
6GB /256GB ... get an untampered one with the Chinese rom, unlock it your self and root it yourself then choose the rom YOU want. There are many complaints here and there about Vendor roms with adds and malware etc. Best way to avoid those is go in stock [Chinese] and do the work yourself to root and rom it.
Thanks! Would you be able to recommend a site where I could acquire one? I see most on Ali (recommended sellers) have the global rom.
I'm also looking to get one, what site do you guys recommend and how much should it be going for these days?

I bought mine on AliExpress, including shipping to UK for 256GB model £430.08. I got sealed, don`t want anybody to install any ROMs on my phone. I`m not waiting for 72hrs to pass so that I can unlock bootloader and install Global ROM.

How do you like it so far? I wish it had nfc so i could use Android pay
I`m loving it. Side by side with S7, S7 looks like garbage. Its like Ford Fiesta vs Bentley
It has NFC and Android Pay in the Global ROM.
I paid £435 from geekbuying no other fee to pay amazing phone this one is a keeper for sure a iconic phone. That screen is just in your face it will turn heads.
I can only agree with above. Whoever sees this phone, they all are wooow, what is this ?! Who makes this, Apple?
Best phone I have ever owned purely due to quality of screen. Switched to EE network from Vodafone - zero issues with data/internet, quite fast.
I'm in the US, just purchased mine off Swappa. Hardware is incredible, but software is pretty bad. Miui lacks a lot of features I've grown to expect from Nougat phones (safetynet, split screen, double click recent to go to last app, nav bar that doesn't look awful, quick reply inside notifications, ambient display, etc).
Resurrection Remix is very close to being done. Only real issue left is a 2 second delay between when you click power button/double tap to wake/hit fingerprint sensor until screen turns on. MIUI is lightning fast, so it's definitely just software issue that can hopefully get fixed. Everything else is rock solid on RR, and it even passes safetynet. Once this wakeup lag gets fixed, phone will be perfect.

Hi to all!
I read the Huawei Mate 10 pro spec sheet from the official Huawei site. There was no mention about the memory speeds, just the size. So, I asked Huawei Finland. Is there LPDDR4 and UFS2.1, or something else?
First answer somewhat surprised me: "we don't know, but will find out". Ok then, pls find out, it's important.
The second answer surprised even more: They gave me a link to the official spec sheet, and said "We cannot give more detailed info to consumers at this point".
Are we really supposed to guess these specs? We all know why I got that kind of an answer. Huawei P10 memory "scandal" isn't too far behind. And even Samsung did almost the same with the S8 835-version. And the fact that there is a shortage on UFS2.1 memory.
I suspect they're about to repeat the P10 all over again.
Refused to give the information
Now I got email from huawei finland, where they refuse to give information on memory types for the pro-model. Obviously they have something to hide.
I have seen many screenshots put on Chinese social accounts from day one to make sure it runs UFS2.1 and yes all of them were UFS2.1. Also confirmed here (@ 22:35): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q856NsNXie8
However the fact that they did not specify it does make it suspicious. Cannot rely on devices that were given to reviewers.

Absolutely correct, same guy today tested with andro bench both mate 10 and pro versions. Surprisingly, there was a difference. Pro was the winner, and results suggest that at least the reviewers version has ufs2.1. But the regular mate might not.
Interesting thing here is, that huawei does not tell anything. Ufs2.1 is a good thing also for marketing purposes, and since they do not confirm that, the retail versions might vary.
Again the same memory dilema.....
My Mate 10 has UFS 2.1. I think we don't have to worry much about this. All the Mate 10 should be using UFS 2.1. I've Androbench a few Mate 10 units and all say that it is. I think Huawei Finland couldn't give you an answer because they do not have the information on hand to simply give an obvious one. (Even though they should)

Mine and all the other Mate 10 that I've Androbenched were all retail units.
Mine (Mate 10) is asia retail unit, bought from singapore, and it has UFS2.1
My press unit has UFS2.1 and my press contact says all mate 10 pro's (also consumers) will have UFS2.1

Not sure I can trust AndroBench. Every time I tested my Mate 9 I would always get a different result of varying proportions. Never even close to consistent.
How can I check what type of memory my Mate 10 Pro has? I've tried Androbench, but it does not say what type of memory I have. Also AIDA64 only gives the amount of RAM, but not the type.

There's an ADB command, but you need SU permission. However, mine is a Toshiba 2.1 UFS and is fast as hell.
2 months later... I don't think you have to worry. All these are a bunch of Mate 10 varieties. And Huawei V10. Slightly slower in the sequential write though.
Good news for people looking to buy some international version, the device is finally available in Hong Kong! (Where I live)
First impression of the device is obviously good(We all read the reviews). A few remarks:
Coming from an S9+ I really feel the device is heavy. To the point that holding it for a while feels a pain. Holding a minute or two it feels like kind of "Premium weight" but installing all my stuff on it and handling if for an hour or so I really feel it's too heavy. I was expecting it to be ok, but really it's a bad surprise to the point I have some regrets.
I was hoping that since it's in HK (China) we'd get the latest update with the "DXO Firmware" but it's not available yet. Not a big issue it will obviously become available at some point
I understand the finger print sensor has been praised for being one of the fastest in the industry. I am really left unimpressed comparing with my S9+ or Pixel 3a. Not only does the finger sensor in the back feels more natural, they are also both faster (But personally I don't care)
The phone will need a better case than the one provided in the box if it is to survive a drop from your pocket (Luckily there seems to be lots of cool choice on Aliexpress
Not sure about elsewhere, but the HK version is dual sim (Standard for all flagships here). Quite convenient for frequent travelers (Well once Covid goes away....)
Coming from Samsung One UI and Google's clean android implementation I don't really like MIUI for now (No big deal)
I find the DPI a bit large for my taste, but it's easy to adjust through developers options (It's set at 411 and I find so far 500 to be nicer)
Obviously all the good stuff like the screen quality, camera, etc.... are a real enjoyment

Well... I am sporty and exercise a lot... The things not about being capable of, it's more that the feeling is unpleasant. This is an expensive phone and if the experience of holding the phone for a while is not pleasant compared with competing phones then Xiaomi has a problem...
In the end the extra weight is coming from the ceramic back and Xiaomi should probably have offered several options

The price in HKD is 8,500 (Roughly 1,100 USD)
The latest firmware from the Chinese ROM is 12.5.4 (While this one is on 12.0.1). DXO gave an amazing mark to the Xiaomi camera and seemingly was using this firmware in its tests (It literally blows way the S21 Ultra and scores slightly ahead of the Huawei Mate 40).
If you look at other reviews, DXO ranking has been challenged, many reviewers saying they see too much inconsistency in the colors they get from the Xiaomi plus a few other issue including some focus issues and video jitter. It seems this is related to a difference in firmware and this latest firmware makes a very big difference.
It's just a matter of time before it reaches the international version, but it's a little bit frustrating to buy this phone with mostly photography in mind and having to wait before it lives to its potential.
Makes me feel I might have fared better going with the Chinese version of the phone (Which on top of it offers more memory and storage space). Living in HK make sit easier and I didn't do my research properly... (Except in the camera department). That being said an unlocked bootloader does create issues with some banking apps and some professional apps as far as I remember, so maybe no regret to have...

I bought it at Xiaomi shop (In Causeway Bay). You can also find it in Fortress and other big electronic shops in Hong Kong.
Expansys Hong Kong seem to be selling the global version online (But they are charging quite a premium...). They also have the Chinese one. I ma sure many shops offer the phone online here since it's widely available.
Not sure where you live but if it's in the EU, you should wait, it's going to be available pretty soon.
I am from South America country Peru A supplier from china is going to give me the phone as a gift ,The problem is that in my country they ask for certain requirements for cell phones to enter,Only some model codes must be approved, the model accepted for me 11 ultra is M2102K1G ,Can you please check the box and verify the model number?

I suspect down the line the 512Gb may become available internationally. But not yet.

I got the new 4g model with SD 865, no issues, tested with the touch screen app tester and 0 problems
I suspect that touch layer has not changed in 4G (2021) model and the issue is masked by a software add-in, because most of my one finger swipe movements are simply interrupted on this model.
No, the problem is still there even after the latest update. I have the 5G Snapdragon model with manufacture date of 10/2020. Samsung refuses to acknowledge the problem when I show them 3 point touch test in screen test app. Multi-touch or on screen hand writing will expose the problem. A few keystrokes are missing pretty much everyday.
