HTC ONE M7 Battery/No LED - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
So I have my one m7 and someday it went off and I bet it was just low battery energy but when I'm plugging it to charger there's no LED sign of charging like it was everytime and my phone doesn't even power on.

Charge for 30 minutes
If led not back
Try with spot light on the light sensor
And turn on phone

Only in the dark, if you cover the light sensor in the front (top left corner), they will turn on after a few seconds.
Thanks.

Did I brick my One?!

I flashed ElementalX (been a long time since I've OC'd) and now I can't get past the HTC screen. I hold down the power button and it just blinks to no end. This is why I like removable batteries. Do I have to wait until it dies or what?
Try holding down vol down then power let it blink until it reboots

Did that and let it blink over 100 times (counted). Nothing.
Try holding the phone under a bright light and vol down power

Can't believe that actually worked. Someone on Reddit told me to so I did. I thought that was for people who had problems in a call or something...
Thank you.

try holding down the power button until the home and back button flash 15 times then let go of the power button, then press and hold the power button again and wait for the home and back button to flash again and it should shut the phone off. then you can hold the power and vol. down to boot into recovery. this happened to me and thats what worked for me. hope this helps

My understanding is that sometimes, the light sensor gets tricked into thinking the phone is in a pocket/covered and locks the screen off as a result. Seems a little odd, but then again I've never had this kind of issue with any other device I've owned, and it seems reasonable enough to believe.
Is Elemental a Sense-based kernel though? This issue has mainly been cropping up on AOSP ROMs/kernels (which forced me to revert to a Sense 4.1 ROM. )

wow i can't believe that did it, thank you! thought i was screwed. tried all combinations of holding power/vol+/vol-... whispering pleadingly to it... sure enough holding the #$%^& thing up to a bright light and vol- plus power did the trick. :good:

[Q] HTC One wont turn on :(

About a week ago, my One got VERY hot, too hot to hold, I wasn't doing anything, it was just in my pocket on standby, I turned it off to let it cool down, I left it while I was at work, and it wouldn't turn back on when I finished, so I stuck it on charge, and the charging LED doesn't come on, I've left it on charge overnight just incase and no luck, it wont turn on or charge, any ideas? thanks
Edit: I've tried every combination of buttons imaginable

Have you tried shining a bright light on the phone and then try getting into the bootloader etc?

Judging by what you have said it sounds like it's dead best bet is to get it replaced under warranty.

[Q] HTC One dead and won't respond

The phone was in my pocket and when I pulled it out it was dead. When I press the power button nothing shows up, no LED lights nothing. I've tried hard rebooting by holding Vol+ & Power at the same time even Vol- & Power but still nothing. Does anyone know what the problem is? It's been perfectly functional for a month till now.
If you plug it in to a charger for awhile do you see any lights?

I'll try as soon as I get back. I'm outside so also in sort of a bad place for the phone to die.

So I plugged it back and it worked. Should I get all the data off of this and send it in for a replacement anyways?
Lol sounds like your battery ran out

Funny Thread
Could it be that it was on without you knowing? The screen, that is. I have heard it and seen it make a change, forget to put it back, screen stays on, battery dies, etc. Maybe it was just an accident? Just keep tabs on it and see how you battery life is after you charge it again.

[Q] Computer Recognizes but won't turn on

Hey,
I just got a htc one of ebay and it doesn't turn on,
I've tried holding down the power and volume buttons with no success.
My computer makes the usb plugged in noise when i plug it in and then a few seconds later makes the disconnect noise, and it will keep doing this.
any advice?

tip in the command prompt "adb devices" to see if your device is recognized

@Boachti
There is no devices listed :\
@nateboi81
I tried that, does a torch of another phone count as bright?
I would probably try a bigger light source like a lamp or maybe hold it up high to a light in a room. Just to make sure that doesn't fix it

I tried with my room light but no luck. I don't have the charger it came with though, so I'm thinking that help? I have a 1.5a charger but the phone only wants 1a :\
