[Q] Computer Recognizes but won't turn on - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
I just got a htc one of ebay and it doesn't turn on,
I've tried holding down the power and volume buttons with no success.
My computer makes the usb plugged in noise when i plug it in and then a few seconds later makes the disconnect noise, and it will keep doing this.
any advice?

tip in the command prompt "adb devices" to see if your device is recognized

Try shining a bright light on the proximity sensor and holding power and volume down

@Boachti
There is no devices listed :\
@nateboi81
I tried that, does a torch of another phone count as bright?

I would probably try a bigger light source like a lamp or maybe hold it up high to a light in a room. Just to make sure that doesn't fix it

I tried with my room light but no luck. I don't have the charger it came with though, so I'm thinking that help? I have a 1.5a charger but the phone only wants 1a :\

A friend of mine was at the beach over the weekend. He had his atrix hd with him. He said that it did a tone, I assume a shutdown audio or something, and not his phone won't dock, usb charge, wall charge, car charge, and turn on. Is he SOL?

Has he tried holding power button and both volume buttons and the same time for a few seconds.
Ya... I tried that. Tried a combo of all 3, power+vol up, power+vol down... nothing. I had a atrix 4g and you could remove the battery, I guess there is no way to do it with the hd?

Ya but that is not the same as doing a battery pull.
Is there a way to force it to power on?
Sent from my PACmaned SCH-I535
idk about forcing to power on but the reason i linked the vid was to show the process of geting to the battery and removing it since its built in its not as simple.
You could try hooking a factory cable up to it.

That cable is probly won't do much more than add extra cash to a dead phone I would say get a replacement from your provider I live on an island in a beach community an have had one go out due to what I think was lite water in the phone an the ear piece stopped working spear was good but not the ear piece anyway probly got it sum water on it an it died (ever herd a death rattle) had to say it

[Q] HTC One wont turn on :(

About a week ago, my One got VERY hot, too hot to hold, I wasn't doing anything, it was just in my pocket on standby, I turned it off to let it cool down, I left it while I was at work, and it wouldn't turn back on when I finished, so I stuck it on charge, and the charging LED doesn't come on, I've left it on charge overnight just incase and no luck, it wont turn on or charge, any ideas? thanks
Edit: I've tried every combination of buttons imaginable

Judging by what you have said it sounds like it's dead best bet is to get it replaced under warranty.

[Q] HTC One dead and won't respond

The phone was in my pocket and when I pulled it out it was dead. When I press the power button nothing shows up, no LED lights nothing. I've tried hard rebooting by holding Vol+ & Power at the same time even Vol- & Power but still nothing. Does anyone know what the problem is? It's been perfectly functional for a month till now.
If you plug it in to a charger for awhile do you see any lights?

I'll try as soon as I get back. I'm outside so also in sort of a bad place for the phone to die.

So I plugged it back and it worked. Should I get all the data off of this and send it in for a replacement anyways?

Funny Thread
Could it be that it was on without you knowing? The screen, that is. I have heard it and seen it make a change, forget to put it back, screen stays on, battery dies, etc. Maybe it was just an accident? Just keep tabs on it and see how you battery life is after you charge it again.

Dead Device

Good day everyone,
Looking for a little assistance here. I have the ONE (m7ul) running the official CM nightlies last flash i did was Saturday October 19.
Everything was fine and i was charging the device and using winamp for some tunes. The device shut off on it's own and will not power on anymore. The led light will not even come on when charging on the wall charger or via usb.
I did talk to HTC and they had me hold the power button down while holding the volume rocker down for 3 complete minutes to no avail. which makes me think it is a hardware issue so sending it in for repair is most likely what will happen but does anyone know if it being rooted and running CM will matter? being that it is a hardware issue and not software..
any help would be appreciated.

What do you see when you connect it using usb?
Let it charge for a while and wait for the led to maybe turn on

Ya i tried that as well, it was on the wall charger for over 15 hours last night and still no led light. I did not leave it plugged into the usb for very long though, just to test it.
Do you think leaving it on usb for awhile might make a difference?
Thanks for your response too.

HTC ONE M7 Battery/No LED

Hi
So I have my one m7 and someday it went off and I bet it was just low battery energy but when I'm plugging it to charger there's no LED sign of charging like it was everytime and my phone doesn't even power on.
Charge for 30 minutes
If led not back
Try with spot light on the light sensor
And turn on phone
