Are there any 3rd party IR remote apps that work on the HTC one?
Imagine a TV-B-Gone style app.. automatically cycle through the power off codes :good:
I really like the stock TV app, I just wish you were able to access more buttons than directional arrows, menu and channel.
Subscribed. Looking for one too but no luck so far
Only for TV I think the stock app is enough for me, BUT
I would like to have a remote app wich supports bluetooth (for my PS3.) and IR
That would be really nice! :good:
You can try irdroid.
Haven't gotten my One yet but in theory it might work. It says you'd need the irdroid hardware but they give you the schematics on their site and it looks like a simple ir blaster.

Well the only thing is, and I'm no developer, but I think the program needs to be written specifically to use the HTC one's integrated IR blaster. IR droid seems to work by transmitting a certain signal through the headphone jack, which is then converted into an IR signal
Im working on a TV-B-Gone like app, where the users can scan (learn) codes from a tv remote and upload them with the correct vendor/model tag.
Every other user can acesses the uploaded codes than and will (hopefully) have an universal tv off app.
There will be a rating system, sync code database function etc.
As i am still waiting on my One, i cant test anything IR related. If somebody wants to be alpha tester,
just send a PM and ill contact you when i have something to test(will take a couple of days)

I was looking for one too.. the bundled app, while good, doesnt have all of the devices i would want. I need device profiles for blu ray players, and for media center remotes, so i can control XBMC on my desktop. I already do all of that with my harmony one remote, but you can never have too many options!
Anything the tv app didn't know I just chose no on all the options where it asks did it turn on then manually programmed the phone from a remote no big deal to be honest I know control my lights my fires, xbox, tvs, blu ray player all with the same device

The HTC app doesn't even list Yamaha receivers...that's pathetic.

Yamaha AV Receiver? I've got one of them too, haven't bothered to look it up. Will have a crack at it later on, could be in the generic list.
Not all the models are listed, it's a code system that it runs on, should just be able to find the correct frequency and it should work, but judging from the remote that i've got for my yamaha, i can't see that it's going to work well, there would be quite a few missing buttons.
@lilvfr400boy Just noticed your message there, kind of the same thing i was referring to

Works for my tv but both the bell receiver profiles don't work for either if my receivers... Even if it did though there is no guide button or info or exit, seems like a ****ty remote app HTC made let's hope someone can make a good one and sooner the better

Hi,
is there anyone that knows if is it available an update of Sense TV data base? It seems that my phone does not have the codes for Sky decoder.
There is an app here on XDA called One to remote them all
It had an option to go through all remote codes it has

You can use the HTC sense tv app to control the sky box if that's what your asking? Just need the box manufacture ie. Amstrad or samsung?

Hey guys, I've been trying to find the best IR remote app lately and I'm not finding what I'm looking for. I usually just use the stock TV app which works okay, and just recently I got the Smart IR Remote for HTC One and it's nice looking, has some good features. Mainly, I'm looking for an app that works like a harmony remote does. So I press "Watch TV" and it turns every thing on that is needed and changes the inputs to what they need to be on.
Does anyone know of an app like this? It would be great! I could totally eliminate my Harmony Remote for good!

Not sure if it works with it but Logitech released a harmony app. Search harmony in the play store

Yeah I saw those, they only work with their Harmony Connect hardware or Harmony Link hardware.
Thanks though*

Do you recommend Smart IR Remote for HTC One? I like the stock one but I don't want any of the channel or guides as I don't any of those services where I live.
Can you make Smart IR Remote for HTC One to learn commands from other remotes? I want to use the One for controlling my AC units in the house as well
Thanks!
Icontrol is free in of the thread in xda... It works well.. Even with my pedestal fan....

I don't think it's possible hardware-wise. HTC One doesn't have an infrared receiver. It's only got a transmitter. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You're wrong, it's the S4 that can't learn codes. The stock and Smart IR can both learn codes, and from what I've heard Smart IR does have amazing support.

The stock TV app does learn codes. I'll give Smart IR a try.
The iControl app can be downloaded from here.

Weird...do some buttons still work though? And when you manually train the IR blaster with your remote, is that what you're saying also wont work?
I used this remote before I bought a new TV and it worked well, just hard for me to navigate cause it has hundreds of options! It has essentially everything.

Yeah I point the real control at my one and map all the buttons but some work and some don't it very strange does anyone else get this, I've been trying the smart control

I could be wrong but none of the GPe versions had the ir working, you have to download an app from the play store to use it
The Verge: But unlike last year's model, which gave up a lot of features compared to the standard One (most notably the software that made use of the One's IR blaster for controlling your TV),

install SELinuxModeChanger from Play Store, change to Permissive and IR blaster will work as always
EDIT: ignore. i thought you were talking about AOSP rooms, not GPE
