recently i flashed it with gingerbread unoficially
now i need to flash it with stock rom for gingerbread in India
edit 1: It had p1000ddjm2
edit 2: Multiupload is dead so all links are too
edit 3: DDJPA You can download it from http://db.tt/E5bdK66R
edit 4: due to generating excessive traffic dropbox has disabled my public links. post your mail ids if you want it i will add it to shared dropbox folder
Same problem here.
Anybody please help.
TIA
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
CHECK, you will get your 'p1000ddjm2', flash with 'Odin', try rooting and change to Indian CSC (search..!) and Kies should update automatically...
Samsung galaxy tab 7" in India gets Gingerbread.
after installing DDJM2 kies goes into connecting loop
new firmware DDJPA 2.3.3 has to be manually flashed

Does your phone get recognized by Kies you should be able to do it
Only if you have flashed another rom do you have to do it manually
First know how to use odin.

yeah have used odin before. my problem was exactly the same as yours. after using overcome for a while, used odin to get back to DDJM2. but after that kies wont recognise my tab anymore and enters connecting loop.
the flash files were exactly what i needed. thanks a lot

there's another thing I need to know before i flash. it looks like the modem.bin and CSC files are contained in a single file in the DDJPA flash file you posted above. does this mean i do not need to specify the 'CSC' and 'phone' files in ODIN? I mean, specifying only the 'PDA' file on ODIN will be sufficient, right?

if you have rooted your device you have probably made your warranty void.
if you know how to use Odin i would recommend you to flash 2.3.3 DDJPA manually

Ya..But yesterday I finally got the notification and got my Tab updated to Gingerbread.. Had to root it again for making some apps like ROM Manager, Root Explorer work..(used ODIN 1.7 and help from Google }
Observations : NFS Shift does not work..the screen goes off after EA logo..
The RAM utilized is always more than 300MB even in Flight mode,..(using ADW launcher) Even if try to kill running apps, the max i get is 290 MB utilized RAM..
E-book and Daily Briefing - Missing !!
I updated the firmware with odin 1.7.
But later i found "E-book" and "Daily Briefing" go missing !!
Additionally i see "Music Hub" added in the menu.
Can anyone confirm if the missing apps are absent in firmware or just in my tab as i flashed it over "DXJPI" and didn't flash/reset the device to retain the data.

@hex007
can u confirm if you have Audio/Video support in GTalk or not !
It was not that easy for me. The device was originally from Arab region on which i had managed to load Indian ROM.
GB loaded and Odin gave pass, but again went back to download mode. On a hunch i tried using the old CSC and Modem file and voila it restarted. But then went and got stuck with invalid certificate. Cleared up the cache and hurrah! restarted to Indian GB
Many thanks for the ROM file.
Hello,
I have rooted my SGN using method 1 in the below thread,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
I wonder if I can use the Root Kernel for KK1,2,3,4 to have CWM, or there is another root kernel for KK5.
Thanks
Theoritically it shud work as per statment from CF root developer
It was basically made for KK1, and user of KK2-3-4 have tried it and worked successfully.
Now one have to test on KK5, if it won't work, then you can request it to CF to develop it. If it dont works then you can just go back to original kernel. So try it out yourself n report.

Easiest way to go back is :
Write down exact firmware you have at present (setting-about phone - baseband version + kernel version)
Now go here
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=-1
Type N7000 in search field
It will show all available firmware, find your stock, Download it.
Use this guide to get Odin + Installation guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389693
(above link is for odin + installation guide, you have to use tar file(PDA), which you have downloaded, as earlier i shown you.
. You will get your stock ROM back.
But i dont think you may need this hopefully

Which country are you in?
Canada and my galaxy note was brought from Germany so i don't thing Samsung Canada will cover the warranty
Which firmware have you tried? I'm guessing with it being a german note in canada you are gonna need to use european firmware?
This is the one i've just used and i have just come back from using the Chinese leak myself.
Is your note the 16gb or 32gb version? Check to make sure you're using the correct pit.
Open Odin 1.83
Connect your phone in download mode
Use the correct .pit in the PIT tab
Unpack the file you downloaded and put the Unzipped file in the PDA tab
Make sure re-partition is ticked and press start
All should be ok
Once done you can root and CWM with the links in Dr Ketans sig and you're away
its the 16 g
it did not work there was no pit file with the link you gave me and the pit i have says 32 g and i dont know where i can get a 16g pit if there is such thing

@ nuklearmonkeyuk: I am searching for a 32 GB PIT-File for rooting my Note (32 GB). Can't find such at all . Are you shure it exists?? All my searching failed, only found 16 GB PIT. Found a Post that said it don't care. Can you help me please ??
Edit: want to root my Note using Chainfires TUT, so I have to downgrade to KJ1. Dowloaded it, it's a "3-Part" one (I think) with a 16 GB PIT file.
Greatings from Germany
Brief of the problem:
Have updated to latest firmware (2.3.6) but unable to root.
Am using superoneclick for rooting as i am not fully clued up in the technical bits of all the rooting. When I press root, it goes through all the processes and gets stuck at step7.
I have rooted this device before and unrooted it back (If i remember correctly it may have corrupted halfway but phone still works and still has the superoneclick/superuser app in the phone)
Can anybody help me to root this device successfully as i need to remove some stock apps I hate.
Many thanks in advance
I guess you could use Z4root as well on Gingerbread Roms. Otherwise you can do a nandroid backup and flash a clean and pre-rooted GB Rom
Root it using CF-Root kernel.. Download this http://download.chainfire.eu/155/CF-Root/SGS/CF-Root-XX_OXA_JW4-v4.4-CWM3RFS.zip (I suppose you have updated to a value pack - jw4 or jw5), just put your device to DL mode, put the *.tar file in PDA field in Odin (repartition NOT ticked), press start... done.. and you have your phone fully rooted, with CWM, superuser etc.
i wan to root jw5 with out CWM .....

problem is to root device not to flash a new rom ........:cyclops:
Thanks to all for your replies. Have tried a few of these methods but still no luck. Dont fancy going down the flashing new rom route just yet as just want to root the phone to remove root/factory apps to make the phone run smoother as it seems tolag everytime i open an app or text messege etc.
Any other ways to root simply? sound like the newest firmware makes it harder to root..
yup no simple way to root a device ....
flashing rooted kernel does not sound like anice idea .....
why not just root the official kernel of rom
its surely will be most secure and most stable ...
I know it might sound silly as im not clued up in all this.. but what is a kernal and what does it do?
Can you submit me with a link to official kernals? and possibly a simple way of how to do it.
Cheers

S5 Mini with KitKat can be rooted with almost anything, i recommend Kingo Root
S5 Mini with Lollipop requires a custom rom or custom kernel to be rooted, you can find some pre rooted and deodexed (required for xposed) in this forum
