[Q] changing from RocketRom ICS -> ParanoidAndroid CM10/AOSP

Hi all.
I'll make it concise. I'm not really sure about the way to change my custom rom from Rocket Rom (I'm currently at V12) to ParanoidAndroid - CM10/AOSP based (current latest version is 2.51, I believe). I've read through the instruction, but it really confuses me. Any advice/instruction will be highly appreciated.

You are on a safe kernel
So simply copy the rom into your sdcard and flash through cwm recovery

To be able to flash paranoind and get as less bugs as possible , please do the following :
1. Make sure you are on a safe kernel ( if not download 1 and copy it on you phone )
2. add paranoind on your phone , start into recovery ( if your current kernel is not a safe, flash the one you have just downloaded) and do a full wipe ( data , partition , dalvik )
3. flash paranoid android
4. flash gapps from 11/10/2012
Don't flash any custom kernel over paranoind android , I think they must get updated to a new driver

[Q] How to put another android version on my samsung s i9000

Hello all.
I have a question. I have a Samsung Galaxy S i9000 and i want a better version (Version 4...) on my samsung..
i'm a noob with this so can anyone help me step by step what i must do..
Modelnumber: GT-I9000
Firmwareversion: 2.3.5
Basebandversion: I9000XXJVT
Kernelversion: 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVT-CL617736 [email protected] #2
Buildnumber: GINGERBREAD.XXJVT

The procedure is simple, once you understand what is needed for custom ROM's ( all ROM's above 2.3.6 are custom ROM's as it was not released by Samsung but customized by developers for i9000 )
1) your current ROM, is known as stock ROM that still has an upgrade ...latest is 2.3.6
2) to flash custom ROM's you need a CWM (clockWorkMod) recovery, which is best installed by flashing a kernel with CWM recovery on the i9000)
3) After Flashing the 2.36 ROM plus flashing the CWM recovery , its best to have a Backup ( that can be restored in the event of problems in the future ) as well an efs backup ( this backs up your IMEI ( phone Identity) that can get lost/corrupted when flashing cutom ROM's
4) Once you have the above, its best to do a progressive upgrade , so its best to flash the ICS version than the Jelly Bean version ( which is what you like) before the Kit Kat version ( coming soon)
Note:- you can jump from Gingerbread to Jelly Bean as many have done, and had experienced IMEI problems and look for solutions to resolve or just flash the ICS first to avoid it.
5) once you understand this go here> upgrading to gingerbread 2.3.6, than to ICS and finally to the ROM you like, which clearly tells you
First time installing to your Galaxy , or coming from another ROM:
- Make sure you're running a proper working ClockworkMod-Recovery
- Boot into Recovery
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your device will be stuck at boot)
- Wipe cache and dalvik cache
- Flash crDroid zip from internal SDCard
- Flash GApps zip from internal SDCard
- Reboot
- Don't restore system data using Titanium Backup!
- Restoring Apps + Data might cause problems and is not recommended, avoid it if possible!

Kernel Version: 3.0.31 -906407

SMP PREEMPT date information
And I want to update to [KitKat][4.4][Omni]Team Asylum Omni 4.4 Naughties™ .
Does I belong to the follow:
"If coming from any other safe kernel except Philz older than v3.99 or Speedmod:
1. Copy Gapps and Asylum Omni Zips to your SDCard
2. Boot into Recovery
3. Wipe data and dalvik cache
3. Flash Asylum Omni zip
4. Flash Gapps zip
7. Reboob
8. Don't restore system stuff or apps + data using Titanium, it might cause issues"
If I can't restore apps +data, can I download the apps and just restore the data?
I can post question due to the policy, so I post here. Any reply may help a lot, thanks!

You will first need to install a kernel that has CWM version > 6.0.43
then you can follow the instruction you followed. Don't restore data of system apps. User apps and data works just fine.

My CWM version is 6.0.3.0 PhilZ touch 4, will this work?

As long as philz version is greater than 3.99 you can flash directly without flashing other kernel. However to be on the safer side you can always flash the kernel recommended by asylum team first followed flashing the rom and gapps. Hope this helps.

to flash 4.4 you will need to flash a SELinux compatible kernel which is CM 10.2 / Raw R4 or Asylum kernel..

What I dont have clear yet. If I will still need to unlock booatloader and root my phone or just install this new ROM.

You have too unlock bootloader, install cwm recovery/twrp and then you are ready to go good luck

SOLVED!!! Hy please help! My phone is stuck boot loop after root
Story:
Before trouble i have factroy android 4.3,
-1 one year ago rooted
0. factory reset from settings menü (super user deissapeared)
I try to install a CM rom,
1. I sucessful unlock the bootloader.

3 I went to **Mount/Storage & Press MOUNT SYSTEM

** After Flash Official Xperia V 4.3 Kernel- but in the zip file no offical kernel , i think i need this please link it. I un fortunetly don't know whic one i need: 295 , .199 and .210
After this comes the loping boot and i repeted the 3,4. steps and insalled the update.zip- (i don't kow what was it). But boot loop is comes agin.

fianlly i solved,
i have to dowload the offical kernel and lfash with flash tool. And evrything is work.
