hi, im new to in android. currently I rooted my phone with zergrush+CWM v3.0 installed. my question is, should i install [ROM] 2.3.6 Deodexed STOCK XXKL3/Modem DDKL1 - MultiCSC - Rooted (CF-Root-KL3, CWM5) before flash to Rocket Rom v9-KL3? I tried several tricks like FULL wipe before install the zip file in CWM recovery & also did FULL wipe after install the rom. but I still getting a bootloop.
Alcatel Idol 2 Mini 6016X, prerooted firmware 01003 based on JB 4.3, Kernel 3.4.0. Xposed 2.6.1 stable.
I can do a Classical install of the framework and reboot the phone.
Then I download all the modules I want, but if I enable just one and reset, the phone gets stuck on the first boot logo for ages. All I can do is a factory reset or backup restore from Recovery (if I made any).
Meanwhile, on Xperia SP that runs on Sony's stock flavour of JB 4.3, eveythings functions normally.
Guys, any ideas?
hello guys
I have the c6602, and running 4.4.4
I've just unlocked the bootloader and rooted my XZ
I want to install one of the new lollipop ROM's so i need a kernel that has a recovery mod to flash the ROM
the one i found is Doomlord's kernel [.230], but as i know [.230] doesn't work with 4.4.4, if it's just used to get the recovery into the device and be able to flash a ROM, what would be the next step after installing the ROM?
should flash a newer kernel? or it is automatically installed [integrated] in the ROM's zip file?
thnx
The new kernel is integrated in the zip file and will replace the current one when you flash the rom. You will also get the recovery that comes with it.
I'm on stock .242 rooted and want to flash the new .270 ROM by making my own prerooted version. Would it be fine to dirty flash it so I can keep my data/apps/settings etc?
If I flashed a rom that has a different kernel and then went back to a rom that has a stock kernel do I not have a stock kernel anymore?
I went from Poprocks to texodus then back to poprocks.
If the new rom you flashed included the stock kernel, then that's the kernel you have now. Kernels don't survive a rom flash, they get overwritten by whatever kernel is included in the rom.
Thanks
