LO9-C432 vs. L29C636 rollback package from N-MM - Huawei P9 Plus Questions & Answers

Hello to all, please enlighten me and help me find a solution regarding my L29-C636 device. Currently, my device is in nougat B320 but build is in NRD90M test-keys. I have been finding solution and been reading in this forum for solutions. I already tried rollback pack but not working. Whereas LO9-C432 rollback has worked for some devices in this forum having the same build number in NRD90M Test-keys. So i wondered why its not working for me. Currently, i have unlocked bootloader but not rooted nor any twrp installed. Could it be my bootloader being unlocked is the culprit? Should i relock bootloader before rollback?

It's work even you have an unlook bootloader ! Try to rollback with this: P9 Plus Rollback Package %28VIE-L29%2C from Android 7.0 EMUI 5.0 to Android 6.0 EMUI 4.1%2C C185B300%2C MiddleEast%26Africa%29 you can find it here at this thread : https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9-plus/help/help-nrd90m-test-keys-t3569124, after rolling back and change the oem info after that and relock your bootloader, after that try to install B181 version, it gonna be work I have already test that ! and don't forget to hard reset your device

Thank you for your reply, i already tried the rollback you indicated but it keeps saying error incompatible. I have read your thread and i wondered because your rollback worked for you and not mine. I tried reset already, although there is an error in reset but it managed to setup the fone. I have clear cache too. But the roll back just didnt worked. I tried my stick original FW c636B180 and still dont work. What could have i missed?

Did u enter fastboot mode as in guide?
Make sure you have HiSuite installed (but closed) on your pc, it will be necessary for latest device drivers
Connect phone in fastboot mode. Power down mobile device. Hold Vol- and connect phone to usb cable, this will enter fastboot mode.

Unlock bootloader guide??

So, I can see my device via ADB and FASTBOOT but using DC unlocker it doesn't see my device
I have followed the instruction to go into superduper secret menu by typing the #*#*xxx number into the dialer and picked out factory mode but the software doesn't see it
Anyone else have this?
Also is DC ulocker legit? I'm guessing post's would be removed if it wasn't
When using dc unlocker your device doesn't need to be in fastboot mode. Try it booted up normally. And set OEM unlock in android dev settings.
DC unlocker worked fine for me but it really sucks that it costs money...

Just checked again, and I noticed that "manufacture mode" doesn't seem to stick. It automatically switches back to hisuite if I disconnect it from usb.
Try connecting your phone to the computer and enter the *#*#2846579#*#* menu. And when you switch to manufacture mode don't close the menu or anything just leave your phone as it is with the menu open and detect phone in DC unlocker.
Works for me every time like this.
Have you installed the phone drivers? If not then you'll need to install HiSuite first then you can use DC-Unlocker.

I haven't installed the drivers, but as I said in the main post I can see the device via adb+fastboot, in my mind that means the drivers are ok, but I'm guessing there's some proprietary stuff going on too??
Installed hisuite or whatever it was called and that did the job, thanks all

Can someone confirm if it is working. I would like to try emui 9 and come back xD
Sent from my BLA-L29 using Tapatalk
The app doesn't show "switch to another version" option
why?
You have another version of phone/firmware.
Has anyone tried it? Any success? Does this method require DNS change or not? I'm stuck with EMUI 9.0.0.47 beta after doing factory reset so eRecovery doesn't see previous and next EMUI versions.

I've the same problem.
Doesnt work with BLA-L29C432.
I successfully manage to downgrade from EMUI 9 to 8 (C150) using HiSuite ( 5.0.2.301 ) + FunkyHuawei downgrade firmware: (Downgrade from EMUI9 to EMUI 8 BLA-L29 8.0.0.150(C432).
It was the only method that worked me.
If you are unlocked you can use HWOTA to downgrade back.
Just a note for anyone stuck.

Thanks for trying to help me ! Sadly the bat stays stuck at waiting for device after I reboot in TWRP.
EDIT: Modified the bat so it begins now where I was stuck and it seemed to have done the trick. Will report if it worked !
Thanks for all the help Pretoriano80, managed to finally make it back. Had to fiddle with some things, erecovery kept whining till I fed it a SIM card (don't really know why but whatever-). The only thing remaining is I want to relock my bootloader, but did not succeed to get a "LOCKED" status instead of "RELOCKED". Need it in case I need to take my phone to the service center one day, do you know how to solve this one without using DC Unlocker ?

Downgrading android 9 pie to 8 oreo

Recently updated my Honor 9 lite device to 9.1, it won't let be do anything. I can't rotate my screen, apps keep running in background, battery is terrible and can not install apps from play store(tried to reinstall the google play services by uninstalling it updates and everything). 9.1 on the device is terrible.
How do i degrade my android version. Reply ASAP
Firstly do not demand some one reply ASAP it's very rude to do so.
Secondly back up your important data as roll backing your firmware will trigger the device to erase itself (Very important)
Thirdly once you have done the first 2 steps connect your mobile to your computer and use the latest version of HiSuite and use the recover system option this should give you the option to roll back your firmware.

I can't confirm this. I am trying to downgrade my Honor 9 Lite (LLD-L31C432) to Android 8 right now for the "dload folder method" and I not being able to. When I put the UPDATE.APP inside dload folder on root partition of SD Card, I got an error and is not possible to downgrade.
Also try HiSuite but this phone is not compatible. Any advice?
I am very disappointed with Huawei. First it removes the possibility of unlocking the bootloader by official route and then removes the option to downgrade. Probably my first and last Huawei's phone.
If you take this route i am not responsible for any bricks!
Right, for starters C432 Devices are known not to work with DLOAD with Firmware Finder files.
You say HiSuite is not working for you. This might be because Android 9 requires HiSuite 9.
So simply head here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78850439&postcount=1317
Follow instructions and it will work.
Also make sure you downgrade with
https://pro-teammt.ru/en/online-firmware-database/?firmware_model=LLD-L31C432&firmware_page=0
Leland-L31AC432改B144 (8.0.0.144) LLD-L31C432B144 (8.0.0.144) which is the first one in the link above as that will roll you back to Android 8.0.

thank you. I am downloading the firmware and will make you know if that works. Just one question: what I exactly have to do in step 4? I have to search my device model as in the screenshot, select the firmware, register it on "DNS Update" then go to step 5? Sorry about the newbie question. I have no experience with FF and HiSuite.
Step 4 is to open the link that i already made for you to go directly to the right firmware page, then right clicking the firmware i told you which would of gave you
Code:
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G2052/g1647/v266695/f1/full/changelog.xml
Then in FF Tool select DNS Update, paste the link you just got or the one above that again i have just sorted for you.
Click Register then whilst FF is still open use HiSuite.
Then when the phone shows in HiSuite click Update, you should then have the option to downgrade from there.
Now please can i get one with Waking up, taking my meds so i can go to get my bloods done.

yep... I got this. But when I flash the firmware via HiSuite, the phone just bricked and now I have a totally black screen. It doesn't turn off or on. Any advice? I already download a Pie firmware, but the phone isn't beeing detected by ADB.
Press and hold power button for 10 seconds.
Then plug the cable into the charger and press Volume up and power on the phone and place the other part of the charge cable into the phone.
This has to be done with the charger not a computer.
If that works then it should show a menu to download the latest recover and use that to get your phone back online.

Tried. No signal of life. Nothing happen.
When you connect it to a PC does it show in device manager?
Also press pressing the power button for 10 seconds then puttin the cable to the phone whilst it's not plugged into anything then pressing volume down and place the cable into the pc. See if fastboot shows up. If fastboot shows up you could try recovery option in HiSuite.

yes, as Android Bootloader Interface.
See if you can use HiSuite to recover the phone. Install the basic driver for ADB and fastboot.
Also I have to go now, as my hospital appointment awaits me.

You talk about Big Huawei Exploits group?

Yes I am talking about that group, the fact that fastboot still shows means all is not lost. Good luck in your endevor to unbricking your device.

edit: for no one could help me read it nobody answered me.
Try the other group, which is dedicated for H9L. The only other way I can think of is to try and flash stock erecovery on the phone and see if you can recover that way.
Sent from my SNE-LX1 using Tapatalk
which one?
how to flash stock erecovery? All fastboot commands gives me FAILED (remote: Command not allowed) error. I tried on both Windows and Linux. adb devices doesn't see the devices, but fastboot devices see.
I would not like to spend money with this, but DC-Unlock software can help me? If yes, I will consider to pay for it.
Best bet is to ask on the group I PM's you.
They are more suitable to helping out.
What command did you use to try and flash erecovery?

Problem with Google Pay on EMUI 9.1

Hello,
i have the problem with google pay.
The safetycheck says cts: false.
I have the build 9.1.0.241
who can fix this problem?
thanks in advance
I had the same, it's not verified by Google, I went to 9.1.0.311 and it worked fine.
---------- Post added at 07:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:40 PM ----------
It's not fixable without a firmware flash
It looks like this is a pretty common issue with P20 Pro users and here isn't a solution or a fix yet. Download to 9.1.0.311 until a fix has been implemented.
downgrade your firmware to previous version
Is it possible to downgrade without losing data ?!

Install Huawei HiSuite on PC, Connect your phone to PC, once the HiSuite recognized your phone, go to Software Update, it will say your phone has the latest software available. Click the "Other software versions" (or something like that) below, and it will show you the earlier firmware versions. Select something you know it works well, and just go ahead with it.
You should also backup your data using HiSuite before doing the downgrade, just in case if you need to restore them later.

Hi m8,
It seems that your device has something corrupted in system files. You can redownload your firmware using erecovery. In order to do that, do as it says on my SS bellow. If you need more assistance, please let me know
Later edit: Because i don't know if you're on EMUI 9.1 or 10, i post you bellow settings for EMUI 10 (the ones in SS are for EMUI 9.1)
How to check and download using eRecovery on EMUI 10:
It doesn't require a cable plugged in and using this method WON'T wipe your phone data, it's acting like an normal OTA. In order to acces eRecovery, Power OFF your device or Restart it. Press then simultaneously POWER+VOLUME UP and keep them pressed untill you see Huawei on screen. Release the POWER button and keep pressing VOLUME UP untill you are in eRecovery menu, then release button. When in menu, select Update mode, then select eRecovery mode then Update and recover system then Download update and recover. Connect it to Wi-Fi and it should start the update. At the end, it will restart to system.

Hi m8,
1. You can try first time using the method i've mentioned first;
2. If it's not working, then you can use Fastboot (for info on how to, please check this post) to get info about cust & build version in order to flash a dload firmware (it's the Huawei firmware used in their service centers in order to revive softbricked phones or when they change motherboards) from my thread (again, info later if first step isn't working) ;
3. If it's password protected and has EMUI 9. 1 and it's FRP locked, you can try using some free methods to bypass FRP.

he told me this happened when you tried to factory reset. So i know i asked already , what are the chances i could reinstall and make this phone fully functional again. Thanks
This looks like a corrupted file and the phone is still good.

Can't see any info, you forgot to add them . If you do as i mentioned and if there is a dload firmware for your device, yes, you might revive it.

OK m8, YES, i can help you revive your unit, BUT you need to do as following:
1. You will need an OTG adapter or OTG cable + a USB memory stick (at least 8GB exFat formatted) or a Huawei NM Card;
2. Download this firmware from here - https://androidhost.ru/Vyn . After you've downloaded, extract dload folder and rename ONLY those 2 files inside as following:
update_sd_cust_VOG-L29_hw_eu.zip to update_sd_cust_VOG-L29_hw_eea.zip
update_sd_preload_VOG-L29_hw_eu.zip to update_sd_preload_VOG-L29_hw_eea.zip
3. Proceed to flash the firmware as explained bellow:
Instructions on how to flash:
1a. - Upgrade with USB-OTG
- an OTG cable and an USB memory stick (8GB at least) formatted as ExFat (also you can use an USB drive + USB type C adapter like the ones from Samsung);
Open the .zip and extract the dload folder on the USB memory stick
- Turn off the phone
- Connect the USB memory stick with the OTG cable (or the Samsung adapter with the USB drive)
- Now press the three buttons at the same time: Volume UP & Volume DOWN + Power button
- Your phone will light up and vibrate, keep the buttons pressed and only when you see the blank screen and EMUI appears you will release the buttons. The flashing will start and lasts about 4-6 minutes. After flashing your phone will restart automatically.
OR
1b. Upgrade with Huawei NM Card
- extract the dload folder to your Nm card, then turn off your phone.
- press the three buttons at the same time: Volume UP & Volume DOWN + Power button
Your phone will light up and vibrate, keep the buttons pressed and only when you see the blank screen and EMUI appears you will release the buttons. The flashing will start and lasts about 4-6 minutes. After flashing your phone will restart automatically.
4. After you've flashed the firmware and phone restarted, connect it to PC, install HiSuite v10 and search for update. It should give you 2-3 updates, latest beeing EMUI 9.1.0.260. After latest update is done, do a FACTORY RESET of your phone and enjoy your device!
Let me know if you need more info!

ok , thanks for the reply. just one more thing . Do I need to know the previous passwords used to access the phone or any google accounts because last time i factory reset a phone asks me for previous google accounts before i could setup a new one when the phones firmware was reinstalled , that was on a samsung phone. thanks

Yes, you need to know the Google account password otherwise it will get (if not allready) FRP locked. You can unlock FRP for free using SAFE MODE (there are a lot of videos on Ytb about it) or if it's not working you can pay 10-18 $ to get it FRP unlocked (not to me, to an on-line service center - i can give in PM - that users used to get their phones working after FRP locked).

It's a software problem, not a hardware one . If it was a hardware one, it wouldn't start at all
Ok, keep me posted.

If i would have the option to refund, i would buy from it. He might give you info about a device and sell you another one ...Therefore i'm kinda reserved...And is a device that isn't even working to test it...
