Recently updated my Honor 9 lite device to 9.1, it won't let be do anything. I can't rotate my screen, apps keep running in background, battery is terrible and can not install apps from play store(tried to reinstall the google play services by uninstalling it updates and everything). 9.1 on the device is terrible.
How do i degrade my android version. Reply ASAP
Firstly do not demand some one reply ASAP it's very rude to do so.
Secondly back up your important data as roll backing your firmware will trigger the device to erase itself (Very important)
Thirdly once you have done the first 2 steps connect your mobile to your computer and use the latest version of HiSuite and use the recover system option this should give you the option to roll back your firmware.

I can't confirm this. I am trying to downgrade my Honor 9 Lite (LLD-L31C432) to Android 8 right now for the "dload folder method" and I not being able to. When I put the UPDATE.APP inside dload folder on root partition of SD Card, I got an error and is not possible to downgrade.
Also try HiSuite but this phone is not compatible. Any advice?
I am very disappointed with Huawei. First it removes the possibility of unlocking the bootloader by official route and then removes the option to downgrade. Probably my first and last Huawei's phone.
If you take this route i am not responsible for any bricks!
Right, for starters C432 Devices are known not to work with DLOAD with Firmware Finder files.
You say HiSuite is not working for you. This might be because Android 9 requires HiSuite 9.
So simply head here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78850439&postcount=1317
Follow instructions and it will work.
Also make sure you downgrade with
https://pro-teammt.ru/en/online-firmware-database/?firmware_model=LLD-L31C432&firmware_page=0
Leland-L31AC432改B144 (8.0.0.144) LLD-L31C432B144 (8.0.0.144) which is the first one in the link above as that will roll you back to Android 8.0.

thank you. I am downloading the firmware and will make you know if that works. Just one question: what I exactly have to do in step 4? I have to search my device model as in the screenshot, select the firmware, register it on "DNS Update" then go to step 5? Sorry about the newbie question. I have no experience with FF and HiSuite.
Step 4 is to open the link that i already made for you to go directly to the right firmware page, then right clicking the firmware i told you which would of gave you
Code:
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G2052/g1647/v266695/f1/full/changelog.xml
Then in FF Tool select DNS Update, paste the link you just got or the one above that again i have just sorted for you.
Click Register then whilst FF is still open use HiSuite.
Then when the phone shows in HiSuite click Update, you should then have the option to downgrade from there.
Now please can i get one with Waking up, taking my meds so i can go to get my bloods done.

yep... I got this. But when I flash the firmware via HiSuite, the phone just bricked and now I have a totally black screen. It doesn't turn off or on. Any advice? I already download a Pie firmware, but the phone isn't beeing detected by ADB.
Press and hold power button for 10 seconds.
Then plug the cable into the charger and press Volume up and power on the phone and place the other part of the charge cable into the phone.
This has to be done with the charger not a computer.
If that works then it should show a menu to download the latest recover and use that to get your phone back online.
Sent from my SNE-LX1 using Tapatalk
Tried. No signal of life. Nothing happen.
When you connect it to a PC does it show in device manager?
Also press pressing the power button for 10 seconds then puttin the cable to the phone whilst it's not plugged into anything then pressing volume down and place the cable into the pc. See if fastboot shows up. If fastboot shows up you could try recovery option in HiSuite.
Sent from my SNE-LX1 using Tapatalk
yes, as Android Bootloader Interface.
See if you can use HiSuite to recover the phone. Install the basic driver for ADB and fastboot.
Also I have to go now, as my hospital appointment awaits me.
Sent from my SNE-LX1 using Tapatalk
(1) yes, as Android Booloader Interface.
(2) my phone (LLD-L31(C42)) isn't suppoted by HiSuite. So, I can't use it.
obs.: my phone is beeing recognized by fastboot:
.\fastboot.exe devices
MKJNW18503004415 fastboot

ok. I will wait for you. I need to sleep as well.
See if HiSuite 5 will detect your device and recover it else I am unsure what you can do after this point. There is a telegram group that you could get help from failing that.
Sent from my SNE-LX1 using Tapatalk
I have HiSuite 5.0.x.x here. I will try it.
You talk about Big Huawei Exploits group?
HiSuite_5.0.1.300_OVE also says that my phone isn't supported.
Yes I am talking about that group, the fact that fastboot still shows means all is not lost. Good luck in your endevor to unbricking your device.
Sent from my SNE-LX1 using Tapatalk
I joined the group, but unfortunately no one could help me. Any other suggestions?
edit: for no one could help me read it nobody answered me.
Try the other group, which is dedicated for H9L. The only other way I can think of is to try and flash stock erecovery on the phone and see if you can recover that way.
Sent from my SNE-LX1 using Tapatalk
which one?
how to flash stock erecovery? All fastboot commands gives me FAILED (remote: Command not allowed) error. I tried on both Windows and Linux. adb devices doesn't see the devices, but fastboot devices see.
I would not like to spend money with this, but DC-Unlock software can help me? If yes, I will consider to pay for it.
Best bet is to ask on the group I PM's you.
They are more suitable to helping out.
What command did you use to try and flash erecovery?

Hi good day...
I've been reading posts from people who have the same problem trying to get back to Marshmallow from the Nougat beta, but I have not found a concrete, working solution.
I have tried in 3 ways:
1.- By the method of the three buttons: I have tried to reinstall the software by this method and it did not work. It stayed at 51% and marked error. I already try to put it in the internal memory and the SD memory but in neither it works. I also try with the dialer method and it does not work either.
2.- Try to do it with the method "this link" which consists of sending the update via OTA configuring proxies and such things. I get the OTA update of the firmware that I select, but it marks the same installation error.
3.- Try to do it by HiSuite in "recovery system" but apparently the PC does not recognize the device, only in "recovey" mode and when trying to start the recovered process tells me that my device is not supported.
Please if anyone has any solutions let me know, I'll be waiting for your answers folks, I do not want to use this beta forever

OK, I'll try it. Thank you so much :good:
Hello friends
I find myself in a very delicate situation
I have a P9 EVA-L09 32GB with B181 version of software, android 6.
After a failed update to android 7, the phone only normal starts in eRecovery where i don't have usable options.
The phone can boot in fastboot and it enters fastboot where the 2 options, factory data reset and wipe cache partitions both can be used but at factory data rest says "reset failed" and wipe cache partition doesn't produce any visible change.
The questions is, can this phone be rescued in some way?
Can it be reflashed in any way?
Thank you in advance for your answers
from what i have read on the internet, there are 3 distinct functions:
erecovery = volume up and power
fastboot = volume down and power
fastboot&rescue mode = volume down and connect usb cable plugged into pc and using the hisuite software
i have a microsd card
can i reflash somehow a new firmware ?
i have read of another method using the pc and entering commands from the computer

you need a way to use your sdcard without the phone (sdcard reader or another phone)
if you have this follow this guide strictly:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/guide-debranding-to-c432-updating-to-t3551523
with this guide you will get back to a working 6.0 Firmware and update it to latest Nougat 7.0 firmware.
thank you
i already did some searching on the net and the main issue is the unlocking the bootloader, this must be the first step, without this, its impossible to flash/rewrite anything on the phone
the problem at Huawei phones is that the unlocking is done through a code which either you get it free directly from Huawei or by paying third parties
there is one last problem, the FRP (factory reset protection) feature, which so sar is not very clear to me how it fits into the picture and what it does exactly
the problem of getting an unlock code is further more complicated if the phone cant be accessed from the menu or you do not have the box on which the IMEI, S/N and other data are written
There is no reason to unlock bootloader first. If u follow the guide above it will work. I was in the same situation.

i would like to ask you a different question but related
Is it technically possible for a phone, in this case a P9 to have a specific software version locked on to it? in other words, to be impossible to change the version of the software?
i am asking you because i have managed to reflash my phone and is working again but i was forced to put exactly the same version as before, B181.

If u are on B181 you can update to any version above if it matches your OEMINFO.
The guide i posted above will change your OEMINFO to C432 (EU Version) and after this u will receive every new update.
Any provide can use its own OEMINFO so if your provide dont push any update abbove 181 you are locked to this.
But again use the guide above strictly and you will get latest Nougat.
Short:
You cant be locked to any software version at least if you are on C432.
i received OTA to B182 and immediately after installation i got OTA update to B372
problem solved, learned a lot about Huawei software system
thank you for your help

Hi m8,
It seems that your device has something corrupted in system files. You can redownload your firmware using erecovery. In order to do that, do as it says on my SS bellow. If you need more assistance, please let me know
Later edit: Because i don't know if you're on EMUI 9.1 or 10, i post you bellow settings for EMUI 10 (the ones in SS are for EMUI 9.1)
How to check and download using eRecovery on EMUI 10:
It doesn't require a cable plugged in and using this method WON'T wipe your phone data, it's acting like an normal OTA. In order to acces eRecovery, Power OFF your device or Restart it. Press then simultaneously POWER+VOLUME UP and keep them pressed untill you see Huawei on screen. Release the POWER button and keep pressing VOLUME UP untill you are in eRecovery menu, then release button. When in menu, select Update mode, then select eRecovery mode then Update and recover system then Download update and recover. Connect it to Wi-Fi and it should start the update. At the end, it will restart to system.

Hi m8,
1. You can try first time using the method i've mentioned first;
2. If it's not working, then you can use Fastboot (for info on how to, please check this post) to get info about cust & build version in order to flash a dload firmware (it's the Huawei firmware used in their service centers in order to revive softbricked phones or when they change motherboards) from my thread (again, info later if first step isn't working) ;
3. If it's password protected and has EMUI 9. 1 and it's FRP locked, you can try using some free methods to bypass FRP.

Can't see any info, you forgot to add them ?. If you do as i mentioned and if there is a dload firmware for your device, yes, you might revive it.

OK m8, YES, i can help you revive your unit, BUT you need to do as following:
1. You will need an OTG adapter or OTG cable + a USB memory stick (at least 8GB exFat formatted) or a Huawei NM Card;
2. Download this firmware from here - https://androidhost.ru/Vyn . After you've downloaded, extract dload folder and rename ONLY those 2 files inside as following:
update_sd_cust_VOG-L29_hw_eu.zip to update_sd_cust_VOG-L29_hw_eea.zip
update_sd_preload_VOG-L29_hw_eu.zip to update_sd_preload_VOG-L29_hw_eea.zip
3. Proceed to flash the firmware as explained bellow:
Instructions on how to flash:
1a. - Upgrade with USB-OTG
- an OTG cable and an USB memory stick (8GB at least) formatted as ExFat (also you can use an USB drive + USB type C adapter like the ones from Samsung);
Open the .zip and extract the dload folder on the USB memory stick
- Turn off the phone
- Connect the USB memory stick with the OTG cable (or the Samsung adapter with the USB drive)
- Now press the three buttons at the same time: Volume UP & Volume DOWN + Power button
- Your phone will light up and vibrate, keep the buttons pressed and only when you see the blank screen and EMUI appears you will release the buttons. The flashing will start and lasts about 4-6 minutes. After flashing your phone will restart automatically.
OR
1b. Upgrade with Huawei NM Card
- extract the dload folder to your Nm card, then turn off your phone.
- press the three buttons at the same time: Volume UP & Volume DOWN + Power button
Your phone will light up and vibrate, keep the buttons pressed and only when you see the blank screen and EMUI appears you will release the buttons. The flashing will start and lasts about 4-6 minutes. After flashing your phone will restart automatically.
4. After you've flashed the firmware and phone restarted, connect it to PC, install HiSuite v10 and search for update. It should give you 2-3 updates, latest beeing EMUI 9.1.0.260. After latest update is done, do a FACTORY RESET of your phone and enjoy your device!

Yes, you need to know the Google account password otherwise it will get (if not allready) FRP locked. You can unlock FRP for free using SAFE MODE (there are a lot of videos on Ytb about it) or if it's not working you can pay 10-18 $ to get it FRP unlocked (not to me, to an on-line service center - i can give in PM - that users used to get their phones working after FRP locked).

It's a software problem, not a hardware one . If it was a hardware one, it wouldn't start at all

if i cannot get the owners previous passwords to phone or google then i would still be ok as long as i unlock frp. is that for sure thanks again

Damn, it's been a while since I was here. Back then it was mostly about Windows PDAs.
Disclaimer:
Your warranty after this process is void and your phone will tell you it can not be trusted because it's unlocked.
This is what worked for me. I did it on Windows 10. I just went through the process and it was a bit of mixing and matching various guides.
I'm not your tech support, the only one responsible for following this is you.
If any part of this guide doesn't work for you: too bad. Maybe Google or other users can help you with your problem.
Needed:
An internet-enabled PC
Huawei P10 Lite phone
USB to Micro-USB cable
HiSuite https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/hisuite/
DC-Unlocker (comes with abd & fastboot) https://www.dc-unlocker.com/
Optional: Huawei Driver Tools https://mega.nz/file/qrpBUIKA#zaI8Th0ovgyK48VzFUFAzMNWF2r_R12lNc-uJZsIx4w
Note: I recommend not to buy credits until you've come to the part in my guide which says buy credits.
Install HiSuite
Unzip and install HiSuite on your PC
Start it at the end of the installation (it should show a button with "Start")
Connect the phone to your computer with the USB cable and follow the instructions in HiSuite to install HiSuite on your phone
At the bottom of the (Windows) HiSuite there's an option to do a System Upgrade, mine had the option to install an older version (Android 7 with EMUI 5.1) Install this. (This will take some time)
Note: I've read that some people couldn't downgrade because of modern security fixes. It's possible I didn't run the latest updates, but as far as I'm aware everything was up to date.
The following part might be annoying because HiSuite tries to connect to the phone. I uninstalled it at this point, but I had the Driver Tools installed (and did the Install within said tools).
Phone
Once the phone restarted, go through the set-up as quickly as possible (skip WiFi-setup, decline all optional things and skip account creation)
Go to Settings > System > About Phone > Keep tapping the "Build Number" until you're told you're a developer
Find the developer options (Usually in Settings > System and enable USB/ADB debugging
Open the telephone app and type: *#*#2846579#*#* (it should open a menu automatically after the last *)
Click Background Settings > USB Port Settings and select Manufacture Mode
Once Manufacture Mode is selected, leave the phone untouched
DC-Unlocker, part 1
Unzip the contents of the DC-unlocker zip
Start dc-unlocker2client.exe
In the top left, under "Select manufacturer" change "Huawei modems" to "Huawei phones"
Click the button with the magnifying glass, if you did the previous step hovering should say "Detect phone" on hover
Example out put (this might differ for you, but triple-check a port is detected):
Code:
DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.1431
Detecting phone :
selection :
manufacturer - Huawei phones
model - Auto detect (recommended)
Found Applications port COM3
Model : Huawei HiSilicon Kirin Android phone
Serial NR. : [redacted]
Firmware : System 5.1.0.78(0VVV)
DC-Unlocker, part 2
Check again if a model and port is shown in both the output and above the big buttons.
In the top right, click About > Buy Credits
DC-Unlocker site
Select your payment processor
By default it creates a new account, unless you've used this service before, you probably want to keep it this way.
Fill in a username and an email address
You need 4 credits (€4 for me) at the time of writing this, but do check the link "How much do I need?"
Hit confirm and go through the payment process, wait until everything is processed (if you use a script blocker, you might want to temporarily disable it).
At the end you should get confirmation page with your username, a password and 4 credits. (Username and password will be mailed too.)
DC-Unlocker, part 3
Go back to DC-Unlocker
In the top right, click "Server" and enter the details you've gotten
Click "Check login" and see if the output window shows your username and the credits you have left (which should be 4 at the time of writing)
In the top right, click "Unlocking" and then click "Read bootloader code"
The output should show you the bootloader code once it's done. Copy this to a textfile and save it (and keep it in the memory).
You can close DC unlocker once you've saved the code.
Don't be lazy and try to copy/paste the commands following in the next section, since you want to keep the code in your memory, as seen in step 6. Besides, I'll show you some shortcuts anyway! Keep in mind that our example code is 1111222233334444 (yours most likely isn't, mine sure wasn't) and that [tab] will mean the tab-key on your keyboard.
PowerShell/Command Prompt
In the folder where you unzipped dc-unlocker2client.exe to, press [shift] on your keyboard and hold it while right-clicking in an empty area underneath the files, then click "Open PowerShell (or command prompt) here".
Whatever command-line you started will open, type ad[tab] and adb.exe should be appear (shows up as .\adb.exe in PowerShell)
Follow this by typing reboot bootloader. So it should show as
Code:
./adb.exe reboot bootloader
(no ./ in command prompt)
Hit [enter] and the phone should reboot to a screen with a white background
Once the bootloader screen shows (white background with the android mascot) type fast[tab] in PowerShell/Command prompt and follow it up by oem unlock[space]
If you still have the bootloader code in memory, right-click in PowerShell/Command prompt to paste it. Your entire line should be
Code:
./fastboot.exe oem unlock 1111222233334444
Hit [enter], the unlocking will start and factory reset your phone. My output was:
Code:
(bootloader) The device will reboot and do factory reset...
OKAY [ 10.330s]
If everything went right you'll see the Huawei/Android bootscreen and then a warning that the phone is "unlocked and can not be trusted" to use or something like that. It'll boot into the OS after that.
I'd like to remind you of the disclaimers at the top, but hopefully this will help some of you going through the process.

Very nice guide, if ppl ask about unlocking we just link this from now on...
This is a very helpful guide, thank you so much! My question is, if I wanted to flash twrp when the bootloader is unlocked, is there a way to upgrade it to Oreo once again without locking the bootloader again? I can't seem to find a twrp tutorial where they use Nougat/Emui 5 to flash twrp, and all the tutorials to upgrade to Oreo/Emui 8 look like they're locking the bootloader once again and I don't really want to waste 4 euros to go back to the start.
A bootloader unlock should be permanent? I've been moving between Android 7 (EMUI 5), Android 8 (Emui 8) and Android 10 myself in all kinds of directions.
Besides, I think the code is tied to your device, so you should be able to use it again. (But I'm not sure about this!)

Thank you for your quick reply! So after the bootloader unlock, did you flash twrp on Android 7? or did you upgrade your phone to Android 8 and flash twrp then? How did you manage to upgrade it to Android 8?
I really appreciate your help with the previous tutorial, I've done everything until the buy credits part (I'm waiting a bit for that part) and I'm planning on getting to the end of the tutorial at least before August. My idea is to upgrade to Android 8 + flash twrp and Magisk, hopefully I'll be able to do all of that!
I did the above procedure on an up to date, official stock Huawei android. Both EMUI & Android are 8. I'm in the Netherlands, so it'should be the same model as in Spain. (WAS-LX1A)
The HiSuite step is to downgrade from EMUI 8 (Android 8) to EMUI 5 (Android 7), since that seems to have less securities to make it easier to unlock the bootloader.
Oh, I understand now! One more question (sorry if I'm being annoying, it's my first time playing with a Huawei, I must say that Samsungs are far easier to root/unlock lol): If I follow your method, but after getting the bootloader unlock code and right before unlocking the bootloader, I use HiSuite to upgrade back to Android 8/Emui 8, would the procedure be fine? like, it's totally fine to unlock the bootloader either with android 7 or 8, the only time I need android 7 is to get my code because DC unlocker supports them better, right?
Again, thank you so much!!!
I'm not sure to be honest. But I reverted to 7/EMUI 5 because I read around here on the board that's better for trying to unlock.
Thank you,
Only fastboot.exe oem unlock xxxxx failed with the following error: FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.022s
This was resolved by going back to settings, developer options and check 'enable oem unlocking'. I didn't read that in your guide.

Hi, I have the same model. But I can't figure out how to update to EMUI8 again (or which custom recovery works). It doesn't find the update in HiSuite and it doesn't find it via System update. Do you happen to know how? Thank you.
What should I do next?
I did manage to unlock the bootloader thanks to this very clear post. I did downgrade to Android 7 / Emui 5.1.1 and have a working rooted system but he is trying to upgrade again to android 8 / Emui 8. I know by experience that it will lock again with the higher version (the unlock code can be used several time fortunately).
I did try to flash some roms on it, going for instance to Lineage OS 14 but it was all a disaster and I think that I need some guidance now..
I am not a newbee for rooting and flashing but do not understand yet the Huawei system; is that so that I have to choose a new ROM with caution, especially with the Emui version? Looking at the old posts, I find some old ROM's even with Emui 5 version but do not understand the path that I should follow to progressively upgrade.
Thanks in advance for your orientations!

For me, I did get to relock by accident but I confirm that the unlock code is permanent (at least, I did use it 3 times with no problem!)
P10 lite Pinout
I would like to know if they have tried to unlock the bootloader with the Pinout method.

I ran into the same problem. Did you find a solution?
I followed this guide, downgraded to EMUI 5.1.1 and tried to install several custom ROMs. But none of them will boot. It is always stuck on the splash screen with the "bootloader unlocked" warning and doesn't get any further.
I tried installing LineageOS 17.1, 15.1, and RR on Android 9 but no luck on any of these. Also, is it possible to revert back to the stock ROM? Maybe that will help...
Thank you all for any help
Nothing unfortunately, I did finally reinstall Android 7 with HWOTA https://www.******.com/huawei-hwota-tool-for-huawei-devices/ and managed to have a working Android 7 / Emui 5 that works perfectly if you do not forget to make a complete wipe/reset when rebooting. The bootloader is still unlocked.
Strange enough this system is upgradable through the normal update system (parameter/system/update) and keeps the unlocked bootloader. Today, I did upgrade to a very last built today - 394(C432) - without problem. Apparently I just have to re-root it through trwp.
I keep it like this now, finally, the Huawei system is not bad! and it is yet rooted

Is 394(C432) finally coming as OTA? Back in July I had to download it via firmware finder and flash it with HWOTA after unlocking the bootloader... lol just to relock after updating... However even Huawei support didn't know about 394 and denied it would even exist, not too surprising in hindsight! Still eversince I was wondering if it ever comes as simple OTA, which indeed seems the case eventually!

Yes, WASLX1A 8.0.0.0394(C432) did arrive as OTA around the end of October. I was surprised as I did not expect any new update on this phone!

Yeah, it's actually crazy cool that it was patched after all this years, I however read it was primary updated to support the coronavirus warning App framework! That's actually the reason for Huawei to push another last update!
Sounds like a crazy conspiracy theory but was written on their Homepage...

Downgrade option doesn't exist for me in Hisuite. My phone is WAS-LX2 8.0.0.370(C185). The last update I got was on 13 February 2019 with the 2019 Feb security patches. Is there a free way to unlock bootloader?

Hello,
you could try to unbrick using DLOAD method.
For files to grab it depend
on latest firmware (android 6/7, emui 4/5)
was your phone running before the brick.
A good guide can be found in
UNIFIED HELP THREAD, post #6.
Feel free to ask if you're not sure
which firmware to choose..
Cheers

Hello thanks for reply.
Exactly it is not my phone. this is my friend's phone. He gave me for fix. So idk which emui and android version was running before brick. I don't think he knows that too because he doesn't understand much of smartphones.
I just know is huawei vns-l31model(writes on cover). And i dont have the sim and sd card's gadget. (It may in my friend's home.)
Could you say which files i need?(And Can i do dload method without sd card? Maybe using flash disk with otg cable. And lastly, how do I know if the image/software file I downloaded is clean. Couldn't a keylogger be embedded in every file I haven't downloaded from Huawei's servers? Last question is a little paranoid, sorry.

Dude,
i cannot say which the correct firmware for you
and you need a PC (or at least another device)
and an SD card to do this.
You have a small possibility...
Reboot the device in fastboot mode
and connect it to your PC.
Open a command prompt and type :
fastboot oem get-build-number and
fastboot getvar vendorcountry.
If you have responses paste them here,
if you have not response i think you
have to bring it to a service point.
Good luck
