The notification setting is on.
But maybe now for the last week or 2 I have stopped getting any new mail notifications.
I'm tempted to think they may have stopped when I did the last system update, but that is probably unfounded on my part.

I have started to have this problem and because I'm quite pedantic it's rather annoying me.
I've been using chompsms since I had the T-Mobile G1 and never had a problem with it, but in the last few days the native messaging app has just decided to start pushing notifications again even though notifications are turned off. While it's nothing major, it's bloody annoying!!!
I've tried numerous roms, it's the same in every one, I've tried freezing the native messaging app in titanium and then I didn't receive any messages at all. I've even tried a different messaging app and still the same. I know it doesn't really effect anything apart from my sanity. Has anyone come across anything like this before cos if I don't work this out soon, I'm gonna have pulled all my hair out lol
A few months ago I started receiving duplicate notifications from just about every app I have notifications set up to send to it. It got to the point where I would get three and four notifications at one time from one text. I did a factory reset to no avail. It eventually would tend to "hold" notifications until I open the specific app then they will all come through multiple times. It got annoying so i stopped wearing it. Thinking it would probably be fixed by now I wore it today, with a new phone, (Note 2 to a S5.) Same exact problem. Multiple notifications from texts or not even getting them until I open the app. Is there anything that can fix this? Again, sorry if someone already posted this. I'm bad at navigating forums.

I'm getting multiple notifications as well from Message+. I'm wondering if the fact that I use Message+ across multiple devices (phone, laptop, and tablet) is responsible for my getting 3 notifications every time I get a text. Anybody else using Message+ on multiple devices?
Hi guys,
I recently changed from a nexus 5 and the phone is super nice. Of course, hardware > software.
In any case, I noticed a starting a few days back that I do not get gmail push notifications as they come.
Meaning, I have to pull to refresh. This also means that I do not get new gmail notifications.
I did some fiddling around with the settings and it wasn't set to notify me for all new mail but even with this on, I don't get timely notifications.
I did further research and noticed that I get my notifications on wifi but not on regular data.
-edit-
I tried it again and now both wifi and data are not reliable. I'm on a hotel wifi connection so I expected this but I wasn't expecting this from the data.
Has anyone heard of the S6edge having possible radio/modem issues? If so, I'm going to go exchange this device for another s6e.
I'm really hoping that it doesn't come to that and that it's a software issue more than hardware.
The thing is, I don't know if anyone knows but the same thing above happens to me with an application called kakao talk (a korean version of whatsapp)
I don't get push notifications and when I open the app I get bombarded with messages.
After opening the app and then closing it, I get updates like normal.
I can't figure this out. Do any one of you have any suggestions?
I don't get notifications for gmail or inbox either, everything is turned on. It was bothering me before but I got used to it . I use kakao religiously but with notifications off..I'll tick then on and see

I couldn't wait and I just factory reset my phone.
Gmail notifications come as they should without me having to manually refresh the feed.
Yesterday morning I was on wifi and kakao notifications came in time as well, but I forgot to try this on the network and slept after turning it off last night.
This morning I woke up a little earlier than my alarm and noticed no notifications thinking I didn't get any.
However as soon as my alarm rang and I turned it off, notifications started coming.
Am I going insane? The device seems to go into some network sleep mode and will only start connecting once it's literally awaken.
I'm trying to rule out app bug, software bug, but most importantly, if this is a hardware bug.
If this is a hardware issue, I only have about a week to exchange it.

Disable and uninstall (updates) google play services. Later on you can re-update google play services. I know this is same as doing a factory reset but it is worth a try. I did the same to fix mine.

You are not losing your mind, this is a software bug and others have this issue as well especially with google related products.
Hi, today I was asked for MIUI update, which I updated, and regretted for that after.
My WhatsApp notifications gone wrong: sound doesn't work (I checked everything many times),and also floating notifications (which I hate and always turn them off) started annoying me. They are off on settings.
Does anyone have this issue after today's update?
I have Edge Lighting enabled and set to always on and the 2 apps I want to show notifications when the screen is off are enabled: Signal and Orgzly. I disabled Always-On Display and Edge Lighting should still work, right? My understanding is that with Edge Lighting, my screen is off and when I get notifications, it will trigger. Essentially, it's a replacement to the traditional LED light. The only time I've seen Edge Lighting triggered is when I'm actually using my phone (i.e. the screen is on), which is pretty pointless. The only time the screen goes from off to "notifying" me is when I'm getting a call.
I'm not sure if I need certain permissions for the apps, but I did enable notifications for them. I have disabled "Allow background activity" for all my apps--don't think this is relevant.
Any help is much appreciated. It's frustrating because I've been using my S10 significantly less than my old phone just because I'm not getting any notifications when the screen is off, which is most of the time.
P.S. Not sure if related, but occasionally I'm not even getting notifications unless I literally open the app, then I get bombarded with notifications accumulated. It's not so often that I feel there's a solution for it.
