I have a problem (yeah, i get out of the camera problem and enter another) I always leave my phone charging in the nigh, yesterday, I unplug the phone as usual, and I saw that the red led indicator was blinking, and i see the battery Icon it was changing, like it was connecting and disconnecting the charger. The problem stops, but when I charge the phone, it comes back for a while, sometimes a Second, sometimes a minute. I try 2 charger and still the problem, with usb too, I factory reset and still. Any advice?
A fear another hardware problem because I am outside of USA. I was using a charger with less Am from the original because my usb cable was damage. BUt today I found a samsung cable and use the original Charger and still the problem. I see that the original charger has 1A, and the other I was using is 700mA.
EDIT: After watching the problem, I can say this.
First, the phone has a problem that the charge cant get 100%, when reach 92%, , Its Jump to 100%.
Second and worst problem, is that the phone present the red blinking light and show like disconnecting and connecting the charge when I put the phone to charge long period of time, or reach por tan 90%. And is not the usb port, because i disconnect the ac adapter first, and still the problem. And even if the phone is off, it show the problem.
So, i read about calibrate the battery, so, i did, the first time, i drain completly the battery, and charge until get the green light. I power up the phone, and still the same, 92% and the phone showing that is connecting and disconnecting.
Today i try again, but more time, i connect the phone at 8:30 AM, and disconnectit at 2 pm (I take a nap at 11 am so xD thats why I disconnect it at 2 pm) I Turn on the phone, and the first problem was solved, the battery was 99%. BUT the problem of disconnecting and connecting is still there, its stops when the phone goes to 96%, always stop after the battery drain about 3%-5% dont know why. I dont have more Ideas, and right now, I cant send it to HTC. Any idea? :/
That means your phone is getting hot
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
So, thats normal? Even if the battery Icon says connecting and disconnecting, even when i turn it off? I really fear something bad, today the problem is not present. But i fear charge my phone overnight now
Oh didn't see the part about battery icon showing connecting disconnecting have you tried with a different cable sounds like the cable or your phones usb port is going bad
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
Yes, I try another cable, the weird thing is that I disconnect the charge from the wall (no the part from myphone) and show the problem, so not sure if is the port or something, I'm using again the original charger base, and a usb cable that a friend gave to me. Today the problem isnt back, but I fear chargirng overnight or something, because not sure if the problem will be back or not. Or using my stock base for charge the phone fix it :/

stock charger base is probably the best one to use
the base is more important Than the cable right? I mean,a bad base can damage my phone and a bad quality cable not? I will watch this week if the problem is gone, I hope that was the problem and nothing worse. If happen again i will ask here again if someone have an idea or the same problem.
THanks for your time
Edit: problem back, this time i watch how the problem present. It seem that the problem comes when I want to charge the phone full.
It was 92%, and the next second, was 100% and green light. I disconnect, and show again 92% and start blinking. I connect again and start chargin, but again, 100%, green light and when i disconnect it was 94%. Is weird. Dont know how to fix, I hope is software, any idea?
I will try to calibrate battery, so, i must discharge to 0% right? I must turn off the fastboot option? (I have in spanish, is "Inicio Rapido", I think that is for never shut down completly the phone), then charge to 100% off right?
Somebody any Idea? I discharge my phone, then charge until it get the green light, and the problem persist
Guys, still the problem, if someone know any tool to check hardware can tell me the name? I dont have any Idea of what can I do with my problem. :/ sorry for double post but I cant found any solution yet
Hi again, if someone can help, I still have the problem, but after the third charge cicle (I discharge completly and charge again 4th times now) The problem is less worse, I mean, before, the problem only stop when a 3% of battery was drain, even if I restart the phone. Now, if I restart the phone, the problem stops inmediatly. So, I dont know if dischargin and chargin again will be good, because I read that can damage the phone.
Any Idea? :/ I cant send it to warranty so i dont know what to do
Again the problem persist after a restart. DOnt know why but only happen in a charge more than 90%
I'm problem charging.
My HTC ONE only charges powered off.
Look the video of the problem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6NSCccjWkE
I tried the trick of the light (Hold VOL UP + Vol Down + Power button + sensor for front light) fixed, but the problem came up again, and now anything I do it back.
It seems a problem with OTG.
My car charger has an LED indication when the load is connected in the car.
When I connect the HTC, and disconnect the car, the charger light is lit.
The HTC instead of receiving cargo load is sending.
Not meeting solution

I will try, I'm waiting official kitkat to see if that fix, dont know if doing a clean RUU is better than a factory restore. I cant send towarranty right now
I dont understand the video (and sorry, it was along time and i wasnt able to read here.) Can you explain me better? My problem is still there. I want to try the video, but dont know what they do exactly. I have official 4.3 from ATT
PD: I think that my problem is overcharging o something like that. I already calibrate the battery 5 times, but, for example, right now, it waslike 80%, show the problems. I try what theydo in the video, but, never understand. And I have an idea about connecting like that (while off) And th ephone say 90%!!!!, so, maybe the problem is for that? Any idea? I dont understhand the video because is not too clear

The video I made is to present the problem.
My HTC ONE only charges powered off.
The charger only goes up to 93%. No matter what time I leave plugged into the charger.
Have managed to solve the holding (VOL Down + Power) buttons and pointing the light sensor to strong light (light bulb). Hold for 15 seconds.
Solved, but the problem returned after 1 week
My ROM CUSTOM is ViperOne KitKat.

And, what exactly do this process? My problem is that light blinking when i discconnect my phone, it like connecting and disconnecting, but stops after drain baout 5%. So, i think is something about software or th ebattery is receiving a mistake info about the charging level.
My problem persist. Or I did wrong the procedure :/ My last hope is kitkat xd
Dear XDA,
I have a fairly annoying problem. The phone is not charging properly.
When i connect my phone to a charger it charges for roughly 20 seconds. Usually it doesnt show anyting at the start. But after a while it shows the charging icon on the display and the led starts blinking. After 20 seconds it stops doing that and after a while it shows the charging icon + blinking led again. Somehow it's in a charging loop.
I've tried different adapters. Different cables. Let it 'charge' overnight. And hook it on to a computer for a hour or so.
Sometimes i can turn my phone on but then it's on 1% and powers off emediatly. It won't charge when it's turned on.
I'm running MaximusHD 46. I have it for a while now and had no problems whatsoever.
The phone is from the Netherlands but I live now in Zanzibar. They have a different power output and the voltage is not stable. Usually i charge it when there is a stabilizer connected. But hasn't been always the case. Could that be the problem?
Thanks in advanced for your replies,
Lennard

This problem occurs all the time? I mean it's the same in all modes like when booted up and running Android, while powered off and while in recovery.
Or only when the device is powered off?
What recovery are you using ? (name and version) please :good:

I have not been able to get into recovery. Basically it's dead in the water and occasionally i can turn it on.
The recovery i use is TWRP. The version i'm not sure of (since i cannot check) but if I think it's 2.6.3.6.

Sounds like a Hardware problem either with the usb port or the battery itself.
A new usb cable may help if you've already tried that there's not much else you can do.
Some of the newer 2.8.x.x versions of TWRP have issues charging while off. But it doesn't effect charging any other time. Have you tried powering on while it's connected t an AC wall charger?

Lint? What do you mean with that? But yeah, I have cleaned the usb port from dust.
And I managed to get into recovery! I tried finding out where i could reset the battery settings... but I couldn't find it . The phone was getting hot so i think it's sort of charging in recovery mode. So i let it be in recovery mode for the charging. Let's see if that works :]

If you can get a little charge in the battery you can try the USB Host Mode reset. Power off the device and hold Volume up+Volume Down+Power. Hold all three buttons for 2mins plus. The device will appear to bootloop while your holding the buttons. That's normal. When you let go the phone should boot up normally.
Test the charging again :good:

I suppose it would be best to disconnect during the reset procedure. But I don't no for sure if it will make any difference connected or not.

Hello guys,
A while ago, I was just doing stuff I normally do with my phone. I flashed a ROM and it rebooted normally. I then flashed a MOD using TWRP recovery. As usual, every MOD that uses Aroma Installer has a "Reboot device after install" option so I chose that and then **** happened.
Out of nowhere my One suddenly shuts off (The install was done so...)
I have tried the sensor under bright light trick and my phone does vibrate once but nothing actually happens. Just a black screen and stuff.
Sometimes it does go into this screen where it shows a battery icon with thunder bolt in the middle (Yes I know that is the charging screen. But, I also believe that it acts like a progress bar and it does not do THAT.)
Then again, it dies and it doesn't have the charging LED nor would it turn on.
Help is appreciated. I know basic and complicated android stuff but I can't do any of that if my phone is dead
Edit: When I press the power button for a few seconds, it vibrates but nothing happens. The screen is still off and the charging LED is not turning on as well.
Edit: Okay, when I do get it to charge, it shows that charging screen and when I unplug it, it freezes with the charge light on. The phone is also heating up so that does mean it's charging
Regards,
TAM

No. But I was able to drain the battery and once I plug it in using the original HTC wall charger (which is the one that I always use to charge it.) it charged but the charging LED is blinking (mut have drained it self good overnight) am I making progress or did I make it worse?

It's difficult to say at this point, Personally I would just leave it charge over night. Then try and power it on with Volume Down+Power while still connected to the charger. And it definatly doesn't show up in device manager, not even as Unknown Device or QHUSB_DLOAD? I find that a little odd.
But there are signs of life so I think a good charge may do the trick.

Yes. I did plug it into my laptop's usb ports last night when it still had charge (usb 3.0 if that helps) but it was neither recognized nor visible in the device manager. I hope! I am now charging my phone as we speak. I hope it's not dead too

Try Windows 7 USB 2.0
just htc Drivers
Try to go to Boot loader and flash firmware
if it show battery with charging sign it means Soft Brick or battery problem
if it showed nothing like no charging light or nothing on screen then its Hard Brick

Then it is probably a soft brick or a battery problem. Because when I got home I immidiately pluged it into the wall charger for it to charge and it charged showing the charging screen with a blinking LED. One more thing, if I press the power button for a few seconds it vibrates and then nothing happens. I am planning to leave it charging over night. Is that a good idea?

I was flashing a MOD then after the installation finished, it asked if I wanted to "reboot now" so I tapped yes then the phone died and it won't start anymore. Yeah but how long should I hold the button? Just to clarify, my phone only vibrates if I hold the power button for a long time. It just keeps vibrating and vibrating

until the lights stop flashing, usually about 12 or 15 times cant quite remember exactly how many times they flash but its quite a few.
I know you said you tried the bright light trick, but you should also try this trick whilst holding down the power button.

Edit: When I plug it in the computer it doesn't show up (I think that's good because it's a sign telling me that maybe the phone just needs a long ass charge). For how long? If you haven't already done so, leave it on the charger overnight and try again in the morning.
I have it on charger since 2 hours,i will try leaving it overnight
and it had 80 percent charge before dying
Have you tried booting to recovery. Here is a link to the steps involved. From there you can wipe cache or a system restore. http://forums.androidcentral.com/mo...moto-x-into-recovery-so-i-can-wipe-cache.html
now it is just displaying a green led light, i had it on charge the whole night
and it also doesnt boot into recovery
The green LED indicates that the phone is charging, but does not have sufficient power to turn on. Do you have another charger and cable you could try?

Bummer. Sounds like it's indeed a hardware problem.
I suppose my phone is soft bricked. It doesn't get past the Huawei boot screen. I am still sort of able to enter bootloader and recovery, but I have a problem charging the phone also (which happened after I left in in fastboot mode connected to my PC for a little too long), which means no power to keep it on long for enough to flash rom via fastboot, and trying to do it via 3 key combo with UPDATE.APP on the memory card just says the image is incompatible. The thing with the battery is, when I plug it in it shows that red circle with lightning bolt in the middle like when it's charging, but it immediately changed to green (as if it's fully charged I assume) and the red led flickers. As I understand it, the red light flicking means a battery fault. I know when the red light stays on continuously it means the phone is charging, but that doesn't happen. It just blinks. I can disconnect the battery and retry and it always just keeps blinking, and turning it on means it'll die within 30 seconds. So I can't unbrick my phone if the battery won't charge and furthermore Best of ll is this is I installed a new battery 2 weeks ago and had no problem new battery. I even replaces it AGAIN when I thought the battery was faulty. So perhaps you guys know of some software, hardware, or unconventional trick to get it to charge. I'm very desperate for help! Thanks all for reading!
Just keep it plugged in overnight.

Your battery is drained.. That's the thing.. Charge it, the LED will blink red few times amd as you mentioned, red circle will turn green.. it doesn't mean that the battery is full charged, but instead, it means that the battery is charging... Let the battery charge for few minutes (possibly an hour or so). Do note whether the phone reboots or not.. if not.. its ok..
After charging your device, switch it off (if your device is turned on). Connect it to your PC and just press & hold the vol- key... It should go into fastboot mode... If it goes, then just flash the boot image of your current build..
I too faced similar problem few days back amd resolved it by doing this.. (I was on b596 when I faced this problem, I flashed b596 boot.img)

I thought the green circle and red flashing led meant doomsday for my device. I left it overnight at some point and it even got really hot. Strangest thing is, the screen doesn't turn off when it shows the red circle and blinking red led. And having left it overnight like that connected to the charger made the phone very hot and it didn't charge at all.

I did in fact flash some things, but even after that charging worked just fine! (that was before this charging problem) Just now it doesn't boot. (but I was certain flashboot would rescue me. I know I flashed something I shouldn't have, which is why I'm eager to get back into fastboot, but can't without any power and the PC USB to phone connection doesn't provide enough power for it to stay on.
This oddness started randomly while my phone was connected to my PC in fastboot mode (thankfully before trying to flash anything or running any commands)
I very sincerely hope someone has answers for me. I'm desperate as this was a gift and I just had to tinker. to try a better rom :crying:
But luckily I know this forum has the best experts around!
Is the problem the same as the people in this thread
Open the cell phone and disconnect the battery and reconnect it.
I had the same problem and solved it this way.

Either you open your back case and remove your battery..
Or connect your device to the PC but just by holding your vol- key, that will boot you in fastboot mode.. no matter how little charge you have, it should work

Hey there, thanks for your reply. I have in fact disconnected and reconnected the battery countless times without any effect. I also connected it to PC, disconnected battery, reconnected battery while holding VOL- and it didn't boot into fastboot, just the green circle. Just switching it off with the power button makes it switch on again immediately and holding VOL-still doesn't boot into fastboot mode. I actually once got it to boot into fastboot mode, I can't remember how, but it lasted about a minute then it died from low power even while connected to a US 3.0 port with extra power. y the way, one oddity is that when holding VOL+ is actually goes into recovery mode, but I reflashed stock recovery to try and to flash the UPDATE.APP automatic upgrade, but it didn't work and so it's pretty useless.
Thanks for all the suggestions, you guys are awesome! Really hoping you guys can help me out in the end though!

Has it charged since then? When you plug in your cable, does it charge, or does it turn on?
I tried charging with powerbank (at that time, I was out on a bus), it got superhot (the only hot thing I got in my life) and it was turning on automatically... I let it charge for 30 minutes, and then I hold the Power button to shut it down (but it didn't work, I guess).. then I connected it to my laptop just holding the volume- button, it did boot to fastboot..
I am out of suggestions, will post you again if anything else comes to my mind...
Hang in there buddy..

Nope, it's not charging. I've used multiple chargers and even different PC's USB connections, but all that comes up onscreen is the round green logo with the battery, and sometimes a red one instead of green.
And of course the constant blinking led, it never goes away. and also the screen doesn't go off like it does when it's charging. I swear the moment it turns solid red, if that ever happens, I shall rejoice.
Nevertheless, I have utmost respect for this site and faith in its member! :good::laugh: I just KNOW someone will help me resolve this. I can enter recovery (stock) but it doesn't charge there not does the silly stock recovery have a option to turn off. And even sometimes when it seems completely drained, it seems like it starts charging after about 2 minutes after I plugged it but it turns on the screen, shows the green circle, and red blinking led. I'm at my wit's end. :crying: It was a gift and I messed it up.
I didn't read everything in this thread, sorry, but just asking, did you try to charge it overnight? My brother had an old, really small Vodafone Huawei Phone and sometimes it just turned off and needed at least 12 hours charging time to turn on again. Maybe just try to let it plugged in for a day. It may help.

Yep, I did. Annoying thing is the screen stays on when it's plugged in, unlike charging. I kept it plugged in to a wall charger overnight, and the next morning the phone was hot (supposedly because the screen stayed on) and the led was blinking still. When I unplugged it it lost power. This is so strange because just a week ago there was nothing wrong with the battery even.
Had the same problem couple of times
Try this...
1. unplug battery
2. plug-in charger (without battery!)
3. when charger is plugged to the phone then plug battery connector
Enjoy

I've tried that, multiple times. I don't know what to do anymore, I'm desperate.
