As you have rooted, install ROM Manager from the Market, use that to install ClockworkMod recovery and then use it to backup what you have. Finally you can use it to flash the ROM you want as a zip from the SD card, and if memory serves, it'll ask you to wipe as well.

flashing a new system not have repercursions to content of internal sdcard or external sdcard.
you lose app installed and configurations of device and apps.
for flashing via CWM you have more choises:
- install zip from internal or external sdcard
- apply sd-card update.zip if you have one on sd-card. in that case you not lose nothing.

Yes, but you did not state what ROM you were using.
If you were using CM or another custom ROM you can use the 'adb sideload'-functionality to reinstall it. This requires setting up adb on your computer, for instance using the files for rooting the v20a LG installation and installing the correct drivers. The phone should then boot normally with (nearly) all your data intact.
If you were using an LG ROM (which I doubt since you already installed CWM) you need to use one of the flash methods listed in this subforum to reflash your ROM. If you install the exact same ROM it should boot fine with (nearly) all your data intact.
If the phone still won't boot using one of these methods, clear the caches first and reboot.
Thanks for the answers!
However I reflashed all again (wipe data/cache -> Install zip From SD Card)

what image you used to reflash stock?
I didn't reflashed the stock ROM, but Zaiben v3
Does flashing back to stock wipe the internal storage of the device? Will I lose my pics and music for example? Thanks.

Only if you flash userdata.img your device will be wiped. Flashing system, boot, cache or recovery will not wipe personal data.
So I booted to recovery, did a clean wipe of everything, installed this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-...0-1-5-77-debloated-deodexed-zipalign-t3015281
Then I guess I realize that it isn't a full rom, it is meant to be flashed over another one.
So now phone does not boot and I can't even get to recovery.
Any hope or tricks?
Reflash stock tft via flashtool without wiping userdata to safe internal sd. Then root and install dualrecovery. Since u have no recovery u have no other choice

awesome dude thanks so much! found what I need
Hi there! I want to test the official CM12.1 rom so I decided to format the phone and flash a custom kernel and then the rom.
First I flashed TWRP (2.8.7.0) using fastboot and enter it. I made a complete wipe using the advanced wipe and marking all options (except usb-otg).
Once the partitions are clean I flashed the kernel using the install option and selecting the zip file, finally the same for the CM12.1 rom (nightly). Wiped cache and dalvik and restart, but somehow miui reinstalled.... (it is possible to completely delete miui?). The kernel seems to be the stock (3.4.0-g7f72d41-01413-g70bd50e).
I read in the official CM12.1 post that the rom automatically extends the system partition (merging the two system partitions to have a partition with 1.28GB), is this true or do I have to do it manually (flashing something?).
Thanks.
Flash this once and your partition will be 1.2 GB.
Thanks! Is it normal that it still shows just 629MB? (I can see it in the repair/resize/change-file-system section).
Now, every rom that I flash it stucks at the "mi boot logo"... Maybe I'm doing something wrong; I wipe/factory reset (including cache/dalvik) and then flash the zip, and (wipe again, the option at the left to reboot) and reboot to system.... It's stuck, I tried with other custom roms and it happens the same. What am I doing wrong??
Did you switched the partition (system 1 for non - miui and system 2 for miui)? It's located in advanced options in cwm.

Yes, the repartition zip only works on CWM. People said that they have problem while repartitioning with TWRP.
