Hello,
Is it possible to side-load twrp and rom without access to phone settings/ developer options? I have an old G4 that I cleaned up/ factory reset and was going to give to my daughter. Now it has the FRP on it and I can't get past it. Tried a bunch of things i've researched online and none of them work. Took it to Sprint and they can't do anything about it either. It seems Google has a monopoly on a lot of things. Is it possible to bring this thing back to life?
Android: 6.0
Android Security patch Level: 2017-03-01
Kernel Ver: 3.10.84
Build#: MRA58K
Software Ver: LS991ZVF
I'm ignorant and apologize in advance, but what is FRP?

i meant firmware, my bad i am new to this
He's new to rooting. He likely means something else. Maybe update the OS.
Once you have root, there is no need to update it. As long as your root didn't get removed by an amazon OS update.
Do you know if your friend blocked "OTA" (forced amazon OS updates)? What OS version are you on?
---------- Post added at 06:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:33 PM ----------
One you are rooted, you do not want to just update the amazon OS, aka system, aka firmware. Often an "update" does nothing more than lock you out from rooting or installing custom roms. Unless you know that an "update" actually has something you want & you're sure it won't remove your root / lock you out, then do not update.

hang on you are running cyanogenmod rather than stock rom?
That won't ota update think you'd need to get the files from the CM thread and install how they say there.

I have a legitimate need to remove the FRP lock on a SM-G920T with G920TUVU5EQC2 firmware (6.0.1). Have been trying to find a working method, but to no avail.
Stomped...
Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply, this doesn't work. No maintenance boot on T-Mobile device, and this is for FRP with Google account, not Samsung Acct. Not sure if it matters though...

Resolved when I did a factory reset.
I'm having issues with Knox and Secure Folder.
Knox reports it's not compatible with my device and Secure Folder won't setup giving the error, "Secure Folder cannot be set up because unauthorized software was installed on the device".

That was the first thing I checked, but it says, "KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0 (0X0000)", which from what I can tell means it is still intact.

I had already done the "wipe data / factory reset" to fix the 16GB/32GB issue above. I'm not sure what doing this again will accomplish unless I alter some action this time around that I had performed after the last factory reset.

I ended up giving up on this firmware and moving to the 7.0 April security patch version, which worked fine.
Just for the record for anyone else reading this thread. I flashed these files and have had no issues. ?
Neither did I.

Thanks, No problem with this update. :good::good::good:
can i use this stock if i have baseband version G920AUCS4CPG1 ?
Are OTA updates disabled on this, and if they are, how do I re-enable them? Thanks.
Update: So you need an at&t sim card to get updates. I was visiting someplace and needed a cheap sim card anyways, so I got the $30 prepaid plan, then BOOM I got updates.
hi! does this works on G920AUCS4CPG1?
Hi everyone, i bought my s6 (at&t brand) when i was in the US last academic year to study. Now that i'm back in italy i noticed that i have the network locked and i can only use the AT&T sim card. Actually i have G920AUCS6EQE1 firmware version, can i update it to G920AUCS6EQG1 and will i have the phone unlocked/debranded or it will still work only with at&t?
Sorry for my bad english, hope you will understand
Thanks in advance
link
link dont working
Not sure if anyone is interested but I have a newer version, actually I thinks it is the most current
version. G920AUCU6EQK3_7.0_4File_USA (AT&T).7z. Send me a message if anyone is interested.

could you update it?
i really need this exact firmware and the link is down can some post another
First of all I know this has been asked a bajillion times, but I've read a hundred bypass threads and none of them seem to work for the current update on this phone.
I have a non-rooted, locked bootloader, and the latest software as far as I know. My problem is that the google account I had on this phone was deleted BEFORE resetting the phone, thinking I wouldnt ever need it again. It is a secondary phone that I only use for testing and I didn't even know about the stupid FRP. Now when I go to put in the "Previously Used Gmail", it tells me that the account doesnt exist because it doesn't. I have an email in to Google about it but they have not gotten back to me and there is no guarantee that they will reactivate the account.
The "Motorola Privacy Protection" method doesn't work because they removed that in this update, so I can't see a way into settings. A bunch of other methods haven't worked from other threads because I can't install any apps, can't get into settings, can't do anything. Its great that Google wants to protect my device but god damn.
Anybody have any ideas? Is there a method that works on the most recent update for this device to get around this stupid thing?

Hi, so my phone updated to Android 9 a few months ago and I hated it.
I knew that I was going to flash a previous version so I tried rooting.
It didn't work so I flashed a stock galaxy note 9 ver 8.1 ROM from Updato.
Recently, an app that I use to work started to disallow modified devices. I was kicked out of the application and asked to restore my device to its original settings.
Going to rootchecker, it said "Sorry! Root access is not properly installed on this device".
How do I go about restoring my device back to the way it was?
I'm literally broke, I need that app to work so I can work.
Please help.
Model number: SM-N960F
Android Ver: 8.1.0
Baseband Ver: N960FXXU2ARJ1

Knox ver: 3.2
You can't. Once Knox is tripped, it's tripped. (This is made extremely clear on the threads relating to rooting)
Can't you just flash Magisk and hide root with that?
