inside TWRP i decided to restore my phone back to normal. while doing so i had wiped the dalvik, system, data, cache and accidentally hit internal storage, my fault for not paying attention.
upon hitting reboot, i got a message saying NO OS INSTALLED while trying to reboot inside TWRP. even if i chose system, recovery or download, i get that no OS installed, regardless which path i go..
hopefully my phone is not paper weight, so anything would be great!
so as of now i am screwed. I try going to download mode but again. it said no Os Installed, so Odin is out of the question. unless here is a trick to force the phone to download mode.
now the only tool that i have is TWRP and my external sdcard which said corrupted file and missing md file, when i tried to install a stock rom. if someone can give me advice that would be great!
Thank you for your time reading this, it probably doesnt make sense, please feel free to ask questions. it is 4 am..lol
TY!
1)Which way you used to get into Download Mode? From TWRP options OR by manually Pressing Volume Down+Power+Home Button Simultaneously?(Power Off Device from TWRP Before Trying Hardware Combo To get into Download Mode), I think you should get into Download mode by Hardware Combo And Try Flashing Latest Stock Firmware for your device using Odin(I said latest only, don't try any old stock firmware) I assume your familiar enough with Odin Flashing Process With All Known Pre-Requisites to be downloaded like Latest Odin Version,Latest Samsung Usb Drivers for your device,Latest Stock 6.0.1 or 7.0 Firmware according to Availability and Support etc.
2)One possible solution is to connect your phone to PC(Install Latest Samsung Usb Drivers On PC first) And See if your Internal Storage Seen there to copy any custom rom to be flashed for temporary booting up(If you have enabled Usb Debugging Before fiasco then PC should recognise and Show your Internal Storage)
3)Third solution is also regarding to download mode only(If you able to get into Download Mode by 1st post trick and Unfortunately fails to flash stock firmware using odin Then only try this),Download Samsung Smartswitch On Pc>Connect Device To PC in Download mode>Open Smartswitch>Select Emergency Software Recovery>It will ask you for Model No,Imei,Serial No(Both can be found printed on back panel of phone)>Smartswitch will automatically Recognise,Download and Install latest official Stock Firmware on your device
All set!
i did the 1st method, using the physical keys on the phone. a bit tricky because the phone will never power off, it would restart. But i did manage to get to download mode, flashed Stock rom v6.0 with the full wipe. From there I updated all the way to 7.0, all is well!
Yes i was able to see my phone storage but i was not able to flash at all..
The smart switch did not even recognized my phone but it was a good idea..
now i will go to odin and flash the recovery! THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!

My problem is I cant recognize my captivate to any pc because of a weird problem. So I have to use my extarnal sd somehow to flash my phone and hence to open&use it again.
Now after I open my phone it shows at&t screen for a while then open recovery mode. It occured after I apply lagfix.
I need help guys...
So your trying to flash a rom from the SD card without a computer? Have you got root already?
don't do school and stay in drugs?
Yes, lastly, I upgraded fasty UCKK4 and I was rooted. Then I tried to appy Lagfix and load the update.zip in extarnal sd and Set it up from CWM recovery. It was the last time to open my Phone after that So After My phone is opened it shows at&t screen and then goes to CWM recovery.
so I need to see external SD from CWM. But there is no such an option in it. Unfortunately My USB connection is not working. I cant find any alternative wayy
So I have a couple possible solutions try going to install from SD card go to external SD card and find the zip see if that does it if not try going to mounts and storage see if there is someway to mount the external SD card and lastly and most likely not to work would be to wipe the phone back to factory after that not sure let me know how that goes buddy
don't do school and stay in drugs?
Firstly I want to emphasis that I just can reach CWM mode in my captivate. No usb connection I have and no operating system can be opened. So I thought that I have 2 choice to repair my captivate;
1- there is may be an alternative way to see extarnal Sd inside so that to load the setup from there and fix the phone software again. I load a firmware and opened recovery mode and hit the reinstall. But it loaded from internal again. so npthing changed.
2- I must repair my phone's USB port to have an healty connection. Bacause it is now only charging. Is there any way to fix it easily that somebody knows? To date, I couldnt though I have tried thousands methods and drivers to ensure a connection.
so I am in trouble, I need a professional advise and help bra... !

Do you have CWM, or stock 2e/3e recovery? If you have stock recovery, which I'm guessing you do because you referenced "reinstall packages," I suspect you are screwed.
If you have CWM, you might be able to do it. These menu choices are from CWM 5 from the Glitch kernel, so your options might be a little different depending on what you are using. On mine, under "Install Zip from SD Card," there's "Choose Zip from Internal SD" which for me is really my external SD. You should be able to flash your zip from here.
If you borked it up flashing a lagfix, I think you're going to have issues with anything you flash at this point. If you have an option in CWM to disable lagfix, you should try this first before you flash anything else. If you can't get anything else to work, you should be able to flash CM7 because it will repartition for you and fix what lagfix messed up, but you may not be able to get back to anything else afterward.
If you actually manage to get it up and running again, LEAVE IT ALONE! If you keep flashing, you're eventually going to end up in a situation that's not recoverable from recovery and you'll have a paperweight (if you're not there already).
In cwm recovery which I used is 2e , There are 4 options;
- reboot system
- reinstall packages
- wipe user data
- wiper cache data
as you can gues, I tried all options also added a firmware to extarnal sd and hit the reinstall packages, but it just reinstall lagfix which is in internal sd and it started to loop.
I think second option is to be applied anymore. I need to have repaired my captivate's usb port

So download mode with the picture of the Android guy digging? You seemed confused because your title mentions download mode but you only mention recovery in your post.
Open up heimdall or Odin, it should recognize your phone
Sent from my (CM9) ICS i897 Captivate
I should have asked before, but have you gone through this entire thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351224 The third section about connection issues would be most relevant to your situation.
It is exactly going into download mode. The problem is after getting into download mode it never recognizes with pc and hence with odin. So I gave up trying with odin and looking for alternative ways such as using recovery mode or anything else that I dont know and may be some professional knows.
Tu sum up, I cant have a connection between pc and Captivate because its usb port is not working properly(suddenly gone).
Captivate just can be open in download mode and in recovery mode. But because of usb port is not working I cant flash it. Recovery mode dont recognize external sd so I cant flash it again.
Note: Connection problem is npt a driver or cable issue. I am almost sure about this.
I understand your issue, the third section of the link I sent you was a list of ways to troubleshoot a non-working USB connection. I just figured I would check since these forums are littered with people who swear that they can't connect to their computer until someone tells them to try a new cable or USB port and it magically starts working. If you have already tried all of those steps, you are leaps and bounds ahead of most who come on here looking for help with this problem.
I asked because there is nothing that you can do at this point without a working USB port. You are only going to be able to flash whatever is named update.zip from your internal SD, which as you already know isn't going to help you at all. ClockworkMod Recovery would let you do what you need to do, but you're not going to be able to get it on there without either a working USB connection or being able to boot up normally.
This WAS the situation before the problems:
Rooted Gingerbread rom, all working fine. Decided to unroot and install the full version of the official German ICS rom by using PC Odin. All went fine and used my Note for over two days. Because of the lags en slow responses I decided to reflash the ICS rom. From that moment on I messed it up. I've been reading and searching hundreds of posts for almost a day but didn't find a solution.
This IS the current situation:
I can get into download mode
I can get in recovery mode
However, in recovery mode I can not install a rom, every flash (CWM, both ICS and GB - even using chainfire's rom needed for rooting) stops on a random moment...but never gets it to the end, even if I wait several hours. Installing is very...very....very slow.
In recovery mode i can not restore a Nandroid backup, both ICS and GB. Every backup stops when /system has te be installed. errormessage.
In download mode I can connect my Note to PC Odin. I can select a rom and start flashing. However, after appr. 80% installation halts during "nand write start", no error message. The flashing does not finish, even after hours.
Funny is, i can install a kernel like Abyss.
So, I can't restore, i can't flash using cwm in recovery and I can't flash using PC Odin. My device seems not fully bricked. The max I get when rebooting (knowing that the process has not finished) is the triangle screen.
Any advise is appreciated.
Do not flash thru CWM... Flash a good GB kernel like "franco.Kernel" but thru PC Odin then u can flash whatever u want from franco's CWM... Good luck
Don't need help anymore
Note is officially bricked. After several attempts to recover from a softbrick the screen of my Note didn't turn on anymore. No button or button combination works, no recovery and no download mode, just a black screen.

Flat battery? It's also possible that it's just the screen that's not working. Try entering download mode "blind". So hold power+home+vol down for ~10 seconds, then press vol up. Hook it up via usb and see if Odin can recognize it.
Thanks, didn't think of that. But unfortunately no response from the device.
So now that it looks like your phone is officially bricked, I think you should just take it to Samsung and make up a story. Like you were updating your software with Kies and something happened and the phone is just not booting up.
I am sorry you bricked your note though..
try AMORA Filemanager.. flash via recovery and you have a file manager,,, take a look on your partitions
just my idea, you got nothing to lose

I would like to but it's very hard when you can't see anything on the screen...
Maybe it's just the battery, try to charge it externally and try a JIG also
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA
Just a quick, final, update.
My Note was superbricked. Had to send it to a Samsung Service Center. No additional questions were asked. Samsung replaced the mainboard. Didn't have to pay anything.
Great service!!!
try this out buddy, do it on your own risk!!! anyways you have messed it up.

i was not a member when i commited this mistake. but then big thanks to this community it helped me back from softbrick.
first you do is install a stock kernel of ics on your note go into recovery and just clear cache partition, thats it no wipe/data factory reset.
then,
install the pit file from this thread, also read it completely before proceeding. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1667886 , hoping yours is 16gb version and also read this thread for additional info but its quite complicated for me so im just telling you the direct method and hopefully itll get your note back to work. so once you download the 16gb pit file unzip it and in the unzip folder you will find a separately lying pit of 16gb stating patched-standard thats the one you want.
then,
goto samfirmware and download the latest ics firmware(i downloaded the indian one as it is in file .tar),
unzip it till you get .tar file.
open odin- click pit-select 16gb patched standard pit- check wether repartion is ticked- click pda-select the .tar file you extracted connect your phone and start. this time i wont stop at factory.fs.....
NOTE THAT AFTER THIS PROCEDURE IS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE WOULD BE ONLY 8GB INSTEAD OF 11 GB STOCK WHICH YOU WERE GETTING.
I REVIVED MY NOTE THROUGH THIS PROCEDURE. PROCEES AT YOUR OWN RISK.
one your phone is working you'll be able to reset the counter with a jig and get your phone under warranty and get your motherboard changed by teliing at the Samsung Service that you are getting only 8gb instead of 11gb you used to get earlier(warranty only if you had any).
hope this helps mate.
BEST OF LUCK!!

Hi everybody,
sorry for posting this outside the mini 2 forum, but appearently that's a developers reserved forum, so I had no rights to post there.
I would like to ask what is the latest stable custom rom developed for mini2, where to find it and possibly an instruction page.
I had good experience with CM on another galaxy before, so I checked on the the CM website first but mini 2 is not listed there
On the other end I saw a long post on the mini2 developers forum saying that CM10 was actually created, but the post is 91 pages long(!), so forgive me if I didn't read it all. Is it working?
I also checked if there was something like an "in evidence" post with instructions for newbies but couldn't see any, maybe I missed it.
Can someone point me to the right page?
thank you for your held

why? what shall I do?

ok, now I'm starting to panic.
why does nobody answer, am I doing something wrong with this post?
I reinstalled the stock rom. I first tried using CWM recovery and selecting install zip file from sd card, but it didn't work: it told me BAD regarding the zip file (downloaded from sammobile), then I succeded using odin. by the way which is the correct method?
However it now seems to start, but I get in loops messages from the setupwizard that says the guided configuration has crashed and also from gapps that Google service Framework has crashed (but should gapps be wiped by the rom flash???).
the problem is that the first of the two keeps restarting and crashing so the phone doesn't do anything else then showing this messages.
please help

After you flash Stock ROM via Odin. Remove battery, put it back. Boot into stock recovery - clear user data & cache and reboot. If the same error occurs try deleting /Android directory(old cache) in your sd card.
thank you for your reply, unfortunately it didn't help.
what do you mean by "stock recovery"? the recovery I see, I believe is CWM which I installed before, but I'm not sure.
anyhow from there I wiped user&cache but I had tried this before and removing teh battery didn't make a difference.
I do not have any /Android directory on my SD card.
it's a simple 4GB fat 32 partition with a single file in it (the zip with stock rom I tried to flash before using odin) and nothing else.
by the way, I used odin3 v.1.83 to flash and I selected the file using PDA button,
but I also have "bootloader", "phone" and "csc" options.
what is the difference?
everything I do makes it more dramatic!
I tried reapeating the whole procedure once again, and odin crashed while flashing teh rom. now it doesn't even boot in download mode, it simply asys to connect kies in recovery mode. but kies never saw my phone in spite of driveres reinstallation, and it is of course not seeing it now!!

you should terminate kies before using odin. You can kill it in task manager, because kies intereferes with ODIN.
You should'nt be concerned with bootloader and the other options. As long as ur downloaded stock has tar.md5 extension you just place it in the PDA section and select Auto reboot and F. Reset time only.
Also You should only disconnect when it says PASS otherwise u will brick ur phone.
When u success fully flash ur stock rom, the chance is it will not get to homescreen
So u remove battery, reinsert it, press and hold HOME button together with POWER button, the phone boots into stock recovery, you choose wipe data and cache, then reboot. (chemicalrage explained this)
If it ain't booting into download mode u should go to service centre.
PS: My advice is to stay away from custom roms until samsung releases jelly bean for mini 2, then better custom roms will be released.
Ok so I was on the Vodafone release of the JB update, the phone became real laggy etc so I decided to see if there were any more releases of the JB update, I found Australia's LT6 so I switched off my phone.
I connected to ODIN on my laptop and put the MD5 file into the PDA and clicked start, It failed, so I tried again from scratch and it failed once more, Since then I have tried flashing A copy of the old Gingerbread stock rom. Still no avail.
I can access Download mode and when I enter recovery mode I get firmware upgrade encountered an issue please select recovery mode in Kies.
Kies does not register the device yet my laptop makes the sound when I connect it.
What do I do to save my phone!
Info; My phone is not rooted or on a custom ROM All stock.

Flash the CM9 safe kernel in download mode using ODIN PC : here http://www.mediafire.com/?uhiges9y3zhs8oi and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1068597&d=1337343150
Then, you will be able to boot into recovery by pressing Vol Up + Home + Power.
Recovery will give you access to USB mode, put a stock ROM or Small Pristine XXLT5 on your SD Card (internal or external).
Do a factory reset, wipe /system/, flash the ROM, and you will be good to go ! :good:

Why do I need to use a CM9 Kernal?
I don't want to have root.
Where do I put the Kernal in Odin?
First of all you should tell as exactly what error you got when installing XXLT5 in PC Odin.
Maybe make a snapshot of PC Odin window with the error.
Not start more actions with other ways to install a Rom before it's clear what happened. If you do not know it might get even uglier.

Your phone is NOT bricked, a bricked phone is dead and you would see nothing on the screen,
it would remain black and you would not see the softkey leds light up either.
Have you tried going into Recovery Mode (not download mode)?
If you can get into into Recovery Mode select "factory reset" and
then select "reboot".
It should reboot normal more or less unless you formatted /system
before this happened.
Do you have stock recovery or twrp custom recovery?
If you had twrp installed it most likely means that you were also
rooted.
That means that you can flash a zip file custom rom if you have
one in your internal or external sdcard.
If you don't have a a zip file rom in internal or external sdcard then you will need to remove the
external sdcard and plug it into an adaptor which plugs into the computer so you can then copy
a zip file rom onto your external sdcard and replace it in your phone so you can flash the rom..
If you cannot boot into recovery then try removing the battery, wait 10 seconds and replace the
battery then hold down the home/power/volumeUP buttons all at the same time until you see tiny
blue text on the top left side of the screen.
Right before you see the blue writing you should also feel a little vibration from the phone.
If you can flash a zip file rom in twrp custom recovey make sure that you do a full and complete wipe including system, data,
cache, dalvik cache and last but not least do a factory reset before flashing or if you prefer restoring a nandroid backup..
If worst comes to worst and you don't have twrp recovery then you need to Odin flash twrp (the TAR version) before doing anything else.

Thanks for your response!
I have tried that however whenever I turn on my my phone it takes me to the screen that I mentioned above automatically. I will try to enter recovery mode using Android SDK / ADB on Windows.
Forgive my ignorance but I don't believe I had any recovery installed which I now realize was HUGE Mistake, However I do know that my phone was rooted since I rooted it myself.
I am curious about "If worst comes to worst and you don't have twrp recovery then you need to Odin flash twrp (the TAR version) before doing anything else."
I feel like that is part of the steps I need to take to resolve this issue. Any tutorial links on this would be greatly appreciated.!

By any chance do you have Reactivation Lock: on?
If so that could be the cause of our issues.
I got stuck at this on my Note 3 once (with twrp custom recovery installed), turned out I had to flash the stock recovery before Odin restoring. Never figured out why it worked when download mode/Odin had not. Worth trying if you're completely out of ideas.

I will give this a try do you happen to have some kind of tutorial link on where to get this done?
I found the solution!!!!!!
OK GUYS I AM EXCITED TO SHARE MY SOLUTION WITH YOU ALL!!
What I did is flash twrp recovery with ODIN but it didnt work... it kept saying Get PIT Partition in the ODIN LOG.
So I tried flashing twrp recovery once again but this time I added the SM-N910T PIT Partition file I found online. But what I did is unchecked the Re-partition tab in ODIN thiss si what DID The trick!
The phone was able to go past the ODIN process and stopped on "RESET" in ODIN. So My Note 4 then Reset into Download mode and then this is where I reset ODIN flashed the Stock recovery for T-Mobile Note 4.
It took about 3 to 5 minutes to complete and I finally got that sweet SUCCESS on ODIn.
My phone then restarted and Voila! I have my note 4 in working condition once again!
THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP AND I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU OUT AS WELL.
