i have followed directions to the best of my knowledge, i had twrp already installed but i wanted to update to 20V i was running 20Q, so i used lgup and did a refurbished option. I am running windows 10, i installed minimal adb, adb recognizes my phone, my phone was unlocked and after doing lg up it stayed unlocked, so i proceed to booting into twrp from fastboot, it does boot into twrp i even installed su V279 and updated it thru google play, my problem is when i go to do fastboot flash recovery xxx.img i get writing recovery failed, even if i flashify it does not install twrp i do get root permission according to su. I havent been able to past that, when i try to reboot into twrp with buttons or application phone shuts down and instead of going to twrp lg logo blinks for a second and then phone restarts to normal operation, what am i doing wrong? i been playing on this for days now, thanks in advance
ps, i even installed the rooted 20V from here still same result, unable to flash twrp
weird but i downloaded twrp for 811-815 thru the phone ap, twrp app and i flashed it with same app and it worked, i have no clue what went on, but i tried different downloads and all fail til just now, thank God!
ok please dont do what i did, twrp did flash but it is for 815, i installed it cause app said it was for both, and it wont let me flash h811 files, will continue to work on it, starting from scratch

Thank you for your suggestion i will try after work. I was able to use fastboot boot twrp.img and it load as it should, but my issues is i want permanent twrp, thats why i did the flash recovery

problem solved, i tried your twrp and had same issue, it will boot but was not writing to phone, i read somewhere, after unlocking the bootloader to save twrp on the phone and then after booting into twrp with fastboot boot twr.img to use twrp file manager and copy from phone to external sd card, i tried that and it worked! now i have permanent twrp. I believe something happens when i tried to copy the file from my computer to my external sd, either my sd card is not working properly and doesnt write everything or some files just dont get transferred cause i copy and paste using file manager app from phone to sd and didnt work. I'm glad i have twrp back in my phone! Thank you raptorddd for helping

yes you need to have both files i use minimal adb so i place one in that folder and other in external sd .. or internal. then selecting install and lower it says image. then it ask you to select. then select recovery and flash install. and youll have permanent twrp.
could it be that you use USB 3.0 or win10.? i know that for KDZ and LGUP it has problems.. your welcomed you should try G5 port rom from astrako.:good:
the h811 vaariant.
I could have been usb3 as you said I was using Windows 10, I had no problems with lg up though. And sure I will try the g5 port as soon as I get a chance, thank you again!

I am really hoping someone can be of some assistance to me, today i managed to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP and root the phone, i then stupidly downloaded and installed a boot animation from ROM Toolbox lite and went to TWRP and tried to flash it, it came up failed, tried to reboot but it only boots into recovery, tried wiping cache, dalvik cache, factory reset, system and format data and still it only boots into recoverywebt to advanced tried to install it said HTC Dumlock is installed but still boots into recovery, tried reflash to recovery abd restore original boot but still it wont boot up as normal, how can i get the phone to just boot up normally does anyone know?
I am such a twat im usually fairly careful when it comes to this type of thing, it'll be a nightmare if i have to pay to leave it into to get done.
Calm flash a custom rom after a full reset and it should work
If you're having issues putting a rom on your device it's possible through adb sideload with the AIO Toolkit

If you do a factory reset, you remove the Rom element so ideally as I previously mentioned flash a new Rom problem solved

Yeah you need to flash a custom rom - you've wiped system so it won't ever boot no matter how many times you try otherwise

Thanks mate can you be a little bit more specific as to how i can put a ROM on the phone as ive never heard of that AIO toolkit?
If you enter CWM recovery, theres an option called install zip from sideload. Press that and then plug it into your PC, and in CMD type
Code:
adb sideload <location of rom.zip on PC>
I use TWRP i assume that has the same adb sideload?
I am downloading Android Revolution now, so if i create a folder on C drive called c:\android then the ROM is the the img i flash when i open a command?

I presume, I've never used TWRP and yeah correct.
OK i am in ADB sideload now when i open a command and type adb sideload i do not know what else to type, i have saved both the boot img and the full zip file (Android Revolution) in the c:\android folder?
When you type adb devices does your phone show up? Have you installed the correct drivers

see the attached, i aloso tried to drag and drop the boot img to the command window and it wouldnt work, then tried the Android Revolution ZIP and it prompts me to use winrar, wtf am i doinf wrong, all i need to know do i use the boot img or the actual full zip file and i need to know what the exact location to type, i created a folder on c drive called android.
I am in an internet cafe too so i cant stay all day just another hour or so.
thanks
I am gonna have to leave it for now as its doing my head in, i wouldn be grateful if someone could post some specific instructions later and ill attempt it tomorrow, everything appears to be ok when i type cmd then
cd c:\android
adb sideload (what is thew exact name of the file i need to enter)
In the folder 'Android' which you cd'd to, is there adb.exe? And you dont use .img you link to the actual rom zip.

Buddy before anything else could you please put/attach/upload the flashable zip of the bootanimation you got from ROM toolbox?
It is better that we know first what partition it has overwritten so we could distinguish what we need to fix.
I understand that usually the system partition is the culprit but reading from the thread that is all pure guesses. It could be you overwritten a different partition that resulted to this.
I own a Motorola Moto G 2014, XT1068. I got it a while ago, and wanted to try Lollipop as fast as I could, so i downgraded to XT1064 and flashed it using this method:
www .techbii . com/ how-to-manually-update-moto-g-2nd-gen-xt1068-to-lollipop/
Everything went down fine, and a couple of days later I rooted it using chainfire's auto root. It started boot looping a lot every time it would reboot/boot back onz but after about 10 boot loops it would eventually power up and be just fine. So far so good, but some time ago I was just playing around with some games and it crashed, turned off, and now it's stuck in a forever boot loop. I can't access ADB, only have access to fastboot and this Philz recovery that I used to flash the Lollipop OTA. I've already tried factory resetting it.
Please, I'm getting worried, could anybody help me?

If you can access the Recovery, then try wiping the dalvik and cache. If this doesnt work, download the lollipop backup from the General Thread and restore it

When in Bootloader, Flash the TWRP recovery for Moto G 2014, then download the TWRP Backup of Lollipop 5.0.1 from the link I posted before, copy it to SD card as mentioned in the guide. Reboot to recovery, Restore and select the backup! Done

You have an SD Card right? Put it in another phone or card reader and copy ROM backup as mentioned by creating the TWRP backup folder. Then reinsert into the device and restore using TWRP

Hi All,
I see a lot of people asking for stock stuff for the HTC One Mini 2, please find them here:

BOOT IMAGE
Signed Boot Image : boot_signed.img for booting problems (FOR INTERNATIONAL/EUROPEAN DEVICES ONLY)
PROCESS
Enter bootloader and then enter fastboot and type the command :
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
fastboot reboot bootloader
Nandroid Backup for restoring to stock, I have used this, working fine (Can be restored through TWRP): https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347818782 (FOR INTERNAITIONAL/EUROPEAN DEVICES ONLY)

STEPS TO RESTORE NANDROID BACKUP THROUGH TWRP:
- REBOOT AND ENTER TWRP, PERFORM A BACKUP (THIS WILL CREATE A TWRP BACK UP FOLDER WITH DEVICE SERIAL NUMBER IN THE SD CARD)
- DOWNLOAD AND EXTRACT THE NANDROID BACK UP FILE
- PLACE THE EXTRACTED FILES IN TO THE TWRP>BACKUP<DEVICE SERIAL NUMBER> FOLDER IN THE SD CARD
- RESTART THE DEVICE AND ENTER TWRP, CHOOSE RESTORE
- LOCATE THE FOLDER COPIED IN THE ROOT OF THE SDCARD
- SWIPE TO RESTORE
- FOR SOME REASON THE NANDROID BACKUP DOES NOT CONTAIN CALCULATOR, FLASH LIGHT WHICH CAN BE DOWNLOADED HERE: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/htc-corporation/

What is the exact problem you are facing when flashing the stock file. PLEASE EXPLAIN FOR BETTER UNDERSTANDNG.
ELSE YOU CAN TRY THE BELOW.
NB: I AM ASSUMING THINGS AND GIVING THIS INFORMATION, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPPENS AS I DONT KNOW THE EXACT PROBLEM YOU ARE FACING.
Make sure device is 100% battery.
1st try this:
1-Download this file: [ https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_1zjuazXSqbQ0p6NWtvRk9OMzA/edit?pli=1 ] and install in Windows (Run as Administrator).
2-Open Command window and type:
Code:
cd c:\adb
3-now on your device use Vol keys to choose and power key to select, and choose FASTBOOT
4-now download the attached file boot_signed.rar (extract the file in C:\adb folder)
5-type in the command window:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
5-type in the command window:
Code:
fastboot erase cache
6-type in command window:
Code:
fastboot reboot
IF THIS DID NOT WORK, THEN TRY THIS:
Download this [ https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934555508 ] file and rename it to 0P8BIMG.zip and place it into the SD card (MMC Card), restart the device and let it boot into the HBoot menu.
Reboot device from the boot mode, if the device automatically reboot into the boot menu then it will start flashing the file automatically.
Good Luck, let me know how it went.
Try and let me know.
this is excellent, all in one place...
However, please forgive my ignorance in recovery/backup terminology (I hope it is not just me) but I get confused by the use of 'Nandroid' backup, Stock Rom, and .zip and .img files for flashing.
I have successfully used TWRP to flash the NostromoPop ROM, but have not been successful with any other .zip file supposedly a Stock ROM.
I have been hoping that somebody could put a rooted Stock ROM so that I can try it as a way to get around the KitKat blocks on writing to the SD card for some of my autosync apps.
Am I making any sense?
Many thanks if you can help

Hi,
As I understand you cannot flash a stock ROM with customer Recovery, as far as I know you need stock Recovery to flash a stock ROM, I remember trying stock ROM on TWRP but it failed, could be due to some other reason, I read somewhere it has something to do with file signatures.
As for SD write fix, you need to have root access other than that there is no fix for it, rooting with SuperUser Binary... I myself did want to try it now that I am back on stock but then I am greedy for Marshmallow (if they could fix that Loud Speaker issue) I am all in for Android M, I tried to get in touch with people on the Cyanogen Forums but no luck as I have not yet received verification email, tried so many times, no luck and as it seems there is no Marshmallow development on HTC One Mini 2....
I will wait and see how it goes...
If I am correct you can keep stock ROM and flash SU Binary and get root access and then install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix to get it done with, it ought to work, haven't tried myself...

HI,
Just wanted to know if you are having any issues with low audio after restoring Android backup from TWRP, I feel my audio is way too low and cant be heard just if I am outside my room..
I didn't have any audio problems, it could just be you being used to cm's 3rd party BoomSound replacement

Well that would exsplain why some elements of the stock recovery remained after I reflashed twrp with a app on my phone, e.g. it fixed the image I get when I hook my device up to power when it is turned off...before that it would just boot me into a unusable twrp homepage

I doubt its corrupted, which OS are you running currently ?, when I tried it, it failed due to the installed stock ROM being newer than the one being installed and since I have S-ON I cant downgrade it...
You can Nandroid Restore the stock backup, I have personally tried and it works....
Another way to do it is to have the Nandroid Restore and then use Sunshine to S-OFF (as sunshine only works on stock or near-stock ROMs) and then flash with 0P8BIMG.zip, it should work then, just a thought...

Its a signed boot file, meaning it flashes successfully should the device fail to boot or stuck on boot or in other words if the device does not boot and remains on HTC, this flashing this should solve your problem.

Hi,
Its not possible to flash stock rom via TWRP, plus you need to have S-Off.
The only way to go complete stock is to restore Nandroid Backup and then flash stock recovery.

Hi,
Yes you will have to restore the Nandroid Backup, this backup is completely of a stock ROM, no edition, however it does not have some apps like the Calculator, Flash etc for some reason.
However I found the missing apps from here: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/htc-corporation/

Excellent much appreciated for this right, so I need to first copy the nandroid backup to my Phones root and run TWRP and restore using the downloaded nandroid yes?
if yes could I please have the steps to put the stock recovery on with ADB commands as I really don't want to brick my phone (Yes I know you take no resposibilty etc) just happier to have as least the correct file names and adb commands.
And last I just copy the new stock RUU to my phone and install?
You help is as always greatly appreciated as no one seems to be ddoing anything anymore for this phone

What device do you have, XT1095, XT1097, etc? And you are not able to boot into the bootloader using vol down + power correct?
It was a 1096, now its trash. it would go into fastboot, but could not get into twrp recovery. its done. RIP

If it boots to fastboot, it's not dead. Just reflash the recovery and you're good to go.

Was there a resolution for this? I'm having a similar problem. I'm not sure how I got to this status, but here's what I'm dealing with:
Device: XT1095
Bootloader: Unlocked
Rooted, ROM - Resurrection Remix, TWRP
Turning on the phone reaches the RR bootsplash and proceeds to bootloop.
When holding down the power and volume down, it will enter fastboot.
When I try to open TWRP recovery, it'll show the blue TWRP screen and just sit there.
I have tried to reinstall TWRP, but that has no effect. I didn't want to manually flash another ROM or go back to stock because at least now it seems USB debugging is on and if I flashed a ROM I cant be sure I'd be able to turn it on. Do any of you pros have some ideas hove I can get back into my phone? Thanks

Do you have a USB-OTG device plugged in while trying to start TWRP? If so remove it, you can mount it after TWRP starts if this helps.
Have you tried a different build of TWRP? I'm currently using the one built by invisiblek, one of the CM devs for the victara. It was built and posted on December 8th and is here: http://www.invisiblek.org/twrp/twrp_2.8.7.0-0624b8bd_victara.img
Have you tried flashing the stock recovery to see if that will start? If it does, you could use the factory reset option there and then try reinstalling TWRP. (TWRP has a settings directory in /sdcard and maybe that is corrupted.)
There have been a few people posting with this problem but I've not seen a definitive fix for it.
Thank for the quick response. No, I don't have USB-OTG inserted. It is using TWRP 2.8.7.1. No, I haven't tried installing the version you mentioned. What I did do was attempt to flash the pre-installed TWRP 2.8.1.0 via MOTO X TOOLKIT. It failed. I'm not very experienced at using ADB manually. As I mentioned, I've been reluctant to flash another ROM (custom or stock) because I don't want to get stuck with USB debugging inactive with no way to get in far enough to reactivate it.

If I manage to install the invisiblek TWRP and it opens properly will I then be able to restore the backups created with TWRP 2.8.7.1?
If that's the case, I need to find a tutorial on installing TWRP manually via ADB, right? I usually install TWRP via TWRP Manager.

That's interesting, the TWRP Manager has never worked correctly for me although it's been a long time since I've tried it.
To flash manually, you actually need fastboot which is usually installed along with adb. If you open a command window, and type in fastboot and it runs, the rest is pretty easy. If it doesn't run, this thread has the 15 second ADB/Fastboot installer, select to install it system-wide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48915118#post48915118
Download the recovery image, rename the file to twrp.img, then open a command window in the folder where you downloaded it (type cmd then Enter in the address line at the top of the folder window.)
When the command window is open and the phone is in bootloader mode and connected to the computer with the USB cable, enter the command "fastboot device" (without the quotes) If everything is working it will list the serial number of your phone.
Then enter "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" (without the quotes) to start the flashing process, ignore the size mismatch message. It will only take a few seconds to complete.
Use the volume down key to highlight recovery, then volume up to select it. Hopefully TWRP will boot up and you'll be good to go!
Well, reinstalling TWRP didn't fix it. Thoughts? Anyone?

I had the same problem a few days back. I tried everything but at the end, I had to flash the stock ROM using SP Flash Tool. After that, I was able to boot into Stock Android and rooted the phone again and installed the Custom Rom later.

Thanks, I have already downloaded from some other URL.
@ skyh3ck and VinayakS
did it help?
My phone got a bootloop to twrp 3.0.2-7 after I wanted to restore to factory settings (from settings menu), I tried flashing 'new' RR-N-v5.8.5-20170926-aio_otfp-FINAL (during flashing I had 2 errors - logs available), tried to flash with some other roms, I tried to restore some old backups - same thing = bootloop to twrp.
I don't want to brick it like the guy from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/k3-note/help/help-unbricking-k3-note-k50a40-charging-t3699007

I did not had time to revert rooting and remove custom recovery, so can't say much at this moment.
But your bootloop issue is most probably due to presence of TWRP, you need to completely remove root & TWRP, restore stock boot and recovery, then try.

Fortunately I've made it working again.
What I did, I flashed phone with SP FLash Tool 5.1628 and K50a40_S433_160909_ROW https://forum.xda-developers.com/k3-note/development/official-build-lenovo-k3-note-k50a40-6-t3370537. But it was not success at that time. Phone acted weirdly couldn't boot, only vibration after power on could be felt. So I tried to flash only the recovery Lenovo K3 Note Stock Recovery.img 10,2MB (also in the package but not default recovery image for S433) with the scatter map from S433 stockrom but SPFL said that it didn't end successfully, so I flashed only rocovery from stock rom S433 target_bin folder recovery.img 12800kB and then voila, it started to boot, there was a Lenovo logo, took some time to start but eventually phone is working.
Now I want to root it and / or flash correct version because my phone is actually k50-t5 not k50a40.
So thanks and good luck to those with similar problems after restoring factory settings on AIMROM.

first time encountering with TWRP loop.

Exactly the same thing happened to me.
So I tried your idea and updated my TWRP, going from 2.8 to 3.1..1
But exactly the same thing happens - it still bootloops, but to the new TWRP.
I've tried flashing several different ROMs that all worked in the past. But no change.

do as what i have mentioned above,..and give update
It worked ! Thanks.
The reason I didn't try it straight away was all the comments about wrong links etc. And some of the links afterwards didn't work. So I was looking for a recovery.img file in other places.
I read your new message, so I used the first link in your post which gave me the recovery img. The TWRP link doesn't seem to work, but I already have an up to date TWRP on the phone.
