Phone making wierd crackling sound - Moto X Q&A

Hi,
I have a problem with my phone at random times it makes wierd crackling noise, I tried to clear all cached data and rebooting it but it didn't help for long ~2hours.
I have heard that it's a famous problem amongst many Android phones, so I wonder if there is a simple fix for that? I (I have a xt1058 at&t version running on stock lollipop rom and unrooted ) I'd be really thankful if there was a fix.

[Q] Background noise

Well, I recently bought a Galaxy S and immediately flashed it to the latest firmware - XXJVQ and I'm using the Galaxian 2.1 kernel.
I haven't made a lot of calls of it, but today I noticed an annoying background noise in ingoing sound during calls. It's identical to the noise a phone makes when you put it close to computer speakers, but not as loud. The noise is bearable, but really annoying, especially during long calls.
After messing around a bit with some settings, I have noticed that this issue is only present in GSM networks. If I switch to WCDMA network type, there is no background noise. The problem is also solved if I use earphones, regardless of the network type I use.
I don't know if this problem appeared after flashing the latest firmware, as I haven't talked on the phone before flashing.
While the problem is solveable as shown above - either switching to WCDMA or using headphones -, neither option appeals to me, as the former is battery-consuming and the latter unpractical.
Does anybody know how to completely solve this issue?
Try different modem/kernel?
we were talking about this here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15925237#
i have the reveres issue, i hear the noise in 3g mode
I believe this isn't happening to your phone only. Everyone who just bought their phone not long ago has this issue. This has nothing to do with your ROM or Kernel I presume.

I agree: I bought my phone about 2 months ago (UK unbranded) and it had a similar problem (a cracking nosied during phone calls, very low but anoying), so I exchanged after using it less than a week.

[Q] .757 Speaker issues, what do I do?

Hello, yesterday I updated and re-updated the latest (at least for Argentina) KitKat firmware.
The problem is that I'm still getting the speaker issues, where the sound swaps from the speakers to the earphone and I can't really hear my
ringtone when someone is calling or the volume on different apps is just too low.
I'm quite new to Android and I've been lurking around the internet for hours but it seems the update did fix the speaker issue for every user. I feel like an alien and I do not know what to do.
Shall I re-install the update until it fixes or should I just go to the closest Sony Support in my city? Thank you very much sorry for being this rookie.
Also, I have my BootLoader Locked.

[Q] In-call mic/low volume problems

Aloha,
When I first noticed this problem, I was using a Sense based ROM, now switched to CM11 and still have it:
Basically at the beginning of any call, people cannot hear me at all, then after 5 sec the problem mostly goes away, they still complain that they hear me as if I'm really quiet or talking out of a sewer but its manageable.
I dont think its a hardware problem, since it gets better after a few seconds, but I am unable to understand where this could be coming from. Is it the ROM, the kernel, radio or something else?
Any help would be much appreciated.
No ideas?

Atrix HD audio problem

I have been using Atrix HD MB886 -unlocked- in India for nearly an year now
But Since CM11 M7 build - i have been facing wierd battery drain and problems with Audio(earpiece, speaker and headset)
I then flashed factory image
MB886_att-user-4.1.1-9.8.0Q-97_MB886
and also got updated to
98.4.20.MB886.ATT.en.US (latest OTA)
But the audio problem is still there
Ever since, the speaker sound and all the system sounds, including ringtones, call volume, etc go off by themselves randomly, so I can't hear anything when the phone rings, If by chance I pick up a call while in this state, I can't hear a word the person on the other side utters, but that person does hear me clearly.
Restarting the phone, the sound works perfectly, until for some unknown reason it goes off, and I have to repeat the whole process.
Reading through forums on the web, some people who have had the same problems report improvements and some very few even report having obtained solution to this persisting issue after installing the app "SoundAbout" from google play store. But no use for me.
I have tried nearly all ROMS for Atrix by now - but no relief.
Any fixes., ????!!!!!
im having the exact same problem with my atrix. Tried multiple roms incuding flashing back to stock. I assumed it was a hardware issue but restarting the phone fixes it. Iv also noticed sometimes the sound comes back by itself after a while, even without a reboot. I played songs with the audio muted for a continuous 8hrs and the sound was fine all the while. Anyone else have the same issue or possible reasons what might be causing this..???
HW problem
Hi, this is most likely a hardware issue.
I had same problem sometimes. When I hit the phone, at the top (not furiously), it started working again.
Most likely loose connection with speaker terminals.
you can open it and pull the speaker connectors.

Microphone issue

I am facing peculiar issue since one week., during the normal phone call the microphone seems to be very low, the person on the other end is hardly able to hear me. But if I make whatsapp call, the microphone is very clear. I have tried to do a factory reset and also upgraded to latest 6.0 stock rom. Issue is still unresolved.
I was on stock 5.0.2 before upgrade and had same issue. This has cropped up recently, the phone was working fine before, not sure what has started it. is there any setting that I should look into? Has anyone faced issue before and successfully resolved it. Any help is much appreciated.
