It is working for me. You have to enable it in the oculus app, before you attach your phone to the Gear VR.
Open the Oculus app. You will see the chromecast icon under your "library" tab.

Have you tried it with your Chromecast on and connected to the same wifi network of your mobile? That's rather curious since my oculus app seems to be an older version than yours and I have it...

Yeah, it's always on and connected. There's no reason it shouldn't be there.

i dont have this option either on my Galaxy S7 (with latest update's).
i have red somewhere that somebody has an Galaxy S6 and an S8 with both the same oculus software.
on the S6 the casting is working and on the S8 it isnt.
does seem to be an bug or something but oculus isnt communicating about this.

Watch Styler doesn't work on the Gear 2, you can use it to create themes,and if you buy multi-watch from the play store ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.klwinkel.MultiWatchProvider ), which is $1.96 and buy mult-watch from the Samsung store for the Gear 2 $1 you can add these themes to your watch.
Or you could copy them by connecting the Gear 2 via USB to your computer, but I've not tried that yet

I got Watch Styler to work with my Note 3 but not with my S5.

I've got both on my S5 and they both work on my Gear 2 Neo, but I have to say the Watch Styler app works much better.

i found that my stock calculator ,work as a floating calculator ,but not in split screen mode .(see screenshot )
I have a N920 C stock ,no root .
Yes ,its a bit tricky to pull down ...i use my Spen easier for this .

After the battery issue .. do you think they want the clueless contingency in the Note 7 ownership *****ing about their S Note app crashing. A lot of folks don't understand WTF beta means. I mean .. how many years did Gmail have the beta label? Google themselves have played a huge part in destroying what beta means. I don't blame them for doing this right now.

It's there and working for me. Unlocked Note 9 on T-Mobile
When using the stock Oreo ROMs, while viewing streaming videos in Samsung's internet browser, you could long press on the video, and an option to save the video would appear. You could also have the video pop out into a separate floating window. Both these options are missing in the One UI beta. Has anyone figured out a way to re-enable them?

Not yet. Even though the video assistant is enabled that little purple icon is missing. Are you on Samsung Internet Beta too?
