Note Freeze with Jelly Bean Leak/Roms (TouchWiz)

Hello guys,
My Galaxy Note freeze very often on JB 4.1.2 Roms. It happen on every JB Rom with PhilZ kernel I think.
It runs sometimes good and sometimes it freeze totally and I have to reboot. It freeze 3-5 times when I reboot my Galaxy Note, on the lockscreen,... open an app,... even sometimes if I turn on/off something on the Togglesbar or just Random. I get really angry when it freeze so often!! And it freeze everytime when I plug in the charger and load the battery over the night. In the morning, my Note shows Black Screen. (=Freeze)
I can't "enjoy" jelly bean on my Note! But when the Official one is out, this wouldn't be happen or?
I flash the JB Roms everytime right! I think, when the Hydracore Kernel is released for TW JB, I won't get freezes because the kernel load the right Voltgroup, right?
It's really really really annoying I don't want to go back to ICS!

I had some of the problems like you, it was freezing random, in menu or in games.
After I install this JB http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970626
It works fine for me - so far.
But I've also do the ''Full wipe /data/factory reset /cache and dalvik'', before I didn't do the dalvik. May be that would work, if you do all the resets.

I flashed this Rom now and I got 0 Freezes =D
I like the LSA one more than the LS7 one Ultimate
The blue theme is awesome... but for now there are no freezes but they can come back

I'm glad to hear that.
I think it will get only better when they release the official firmware and everything will work 100%.

Could there be any third party programs that are making your phone freezing?
You could try do the whole procedure again. After installing everything go back to CWM and just install the firmware again (without full wipe & co.). Or after the installation you could try to go to Settings>>Backup and reset>>Factory data reset...and erase everything (or try the full data reset code *2767*3855#).
But if you really want to go to 4.0.4, I've been using N7000XXLRU and it was very great for me.
Unfortunately I can't help much more, you could try some other JB that come from Nexus (without TouchWiz and Samsung stuff).

Third party software? I don't think so... I think its PhilZ kernel.
The Cyanogenmod Roms are running great but I like the Samsung interface a bit more.
What Rom are you using?

I mean any program that maybe is interfering with the firmware (angry birds, skype...but is not from google play or is not trustworthy).
I'm using the one that I post to you, Ultimate N7000 XXLSA JellyBean 4.1.2 v5.

No. It freezes randomly. I can go to settings and it freezes. That really sucks.

Oh what about an external SD card. Do you have it? Maybe that is the problem, because samsung sometimes does act strange if the SD card is broken.

Wow, I flashed now without SD-Card and no freezes until now!
I will report back if the freezes come back... I won't hope so
If the SD-Card was the "freezer" I throw it in the Trash! immediately!

So,
My Note doesn't freezed about 30min!!
And I forgot to say that I had the same problem with my Galaxy Ace.
I will reply tomorrow in the morning.. because it freezed everytime during the night so yeah....If it doesn't freeze in the morning or during the night.. Big Thanks! :good:

If everything will work you could just try to format SD card on the computer. Then it could work in phone normally, or you share it to someone (after the format).

Hi, i have the same problem as you, phone frezzes randomly, anytime, and i'm wondering if you got you phone frezzed again. i tried the same rom, i tried without sdcard, i tried the latest stock firmware and there is the same problem.
Do you have any ideeas?

What is fine:
Almost everything i've tested (Calls, Bluetooth, Google Sync, etc.). Except, of course, what listed in bugs.
Bugs:
Wifi Hotspot (as the Falcon have the same problem)
4G doesn't work out-of-the-box. However, you can force the phone to use 4G with *#*#4636#*#* -> phone information -> set preferred network type -> LTE/GSM auto (PRL).
Probably the same kernel problems from Peregrine's CM11.
Some texts are messed up (MTP for example)
It seems sdcard isn't working (yet)
Instructions:
Full Wipe
Install ROM
Install PA-GAPPS. The Nano package is enough, but you can install a package of your choice.
Reboot
Enjoy

Yeah I was testing when I realize that, and I don't see anything wrong on logcat :/

Man, if it had functional SD Card support then I'd definitely give this a whirl! Hopefully it gets solved soon. awesome to see the 4G variant receive another major ROM variant added to the range of aosp based ROMs though, good luck for future releases! (here's hoping miui 6at some point!)

I've tested the rom and the only problem that I found was the sd card. I tried fix it, but no success. Anyway, the rom is very snappy and pretty. Thanks for build this rom!

You can relock the bootloader.

I can't because I'm not using MIUI anymore, I've only tested, because I really need SD card working.

I'm working on a new build, I don't know yet but maybe it will fix the sdcard this time.
Update: Yeah I still don't know what is wrong, I think I'll give another try in the weekend. Trying a lot of different changes. I figured out what was crashing the interface, but the sdcard still doesn't work without giving me any clue.

I have missed MIUI, havent tried it since gingerbread. When you get this working I may give up on my projects and just follow yours...but I have a hard time letting go of AOKP.

i'm testing based on other device, I didn't see any future porting from falcon, to be honest.

Need to update my profile as have 4g now not 3g

wifi problem;

hi,
i have galaxy mini 2, GT-S6500D, i use now cm10.1
the problem is that, wifi and bleutouth doesn't work, i think taht the cause is efs folder, i can't find it ( Phone imei exists and with sim is ok )
i flashed my phone to stock rom many times, but i still have the same problem,
please, I need your help, sorry for my bad english

In my Jena wifi and bluetooth -at the same time- wont work so good. With wifi on BT range is only max 20 cm .
But I think this is a known bug.

Well if u don't know the consequences of using it then I won't recommend u to flash it. Anyways, if u want here's the file:
http://www.driverdownloadupdate.com/download_driver/S65680095LTModem.zip.
Download it and flash it with the latest Odin. Boot in the download mode of phone.
Extract the .zip file and place it in the modem section of Odin. Check only f-time and auto reboot is ticked. Then hit the start button. Enjoy!!

[KERNEL] G903F Optimized Kernel

Hi guys.
Here i share my custom Kernel for the S5 Neo.
For now i enabled default governors (conservative, ondemand, powersave & performance).
I added conservativex governor (to test how this works). Change them with Kernel Auditor
SELinux is Permissive.
Usually I'm developing PHP-Webapps but now i try my skills in Android Kernel Developement.
Next i want to add some more governors, I/O Shedulers and maybe something like FauxSoundControl, update the Kernel Source and so on.
Try it at your own risk, flash through TWRP:

I'm already testing it. It's good for now. Haven't experienced any problem or glitch. Only problem is that somehow I get a pop-up notification from Knox that there has been an unauthorized modification of the system, and I wanna get rid of it, it appears with a triangle, it's not persistent but it pops up pretty often.

To remove the security notification, use App Disabler and disable "SecurityLogAgent".

It would be great if you can enable init.d support too please. FauxSound is good to hear

Yep. But something begin to make me angry. More and more games consider xposed like hacking and the game does not want to start due to security notice....

Maybe use an xposed module like RootCloak to hide root & xposed from those apps.

Found out that since i freezed "com.sec.enterprise.knox.attestation 1.0.1" with TB, everything works as expected Nice kernel!

last night I left the phone with no apps running and 43% battery and in the morning I found it switched off and in a boot loop with the S logo and "SE linux not enforcing" or something alike. I booted in twrp and luckily I had a full backup from the day before yesterday so I restored the boot. Should have been selected wipe dalvik cache after flashing the kernel?

every time you flash something dalvik should be wiped

yes, you need to install TWRP with Odin
after install
-boot to TWRP Recovery with VOL+ , POWER & HOME keys
-go to backup and make a backup at least from boot partition,
-go to install and select the downloaded file.
-install it and wipe dalvic+cache
-reboot

You can, just flash this, make a reboot recovery (don't boot in system) and flash SuperSU again.
Anyway it doesn't change anything, yeah, the script is gone, but there is no actual improvement

No need to flash it since Magisk's root is systemless so RCT won't even launch.

I have a magisk and show that I have rctd
