I upgraded to froyo via the kies hack. Any step by step instructions on how to revert back to Eclair guys ?
Ive read just deleting a few folders does it ? surely not that simple ?
Also do we need change the reg hack back, (if so to what ?) to enable us to get the official froyo in November ?

I am a beginner for using Android.
I'd like to downgrade and root it.
Please tell me the perfect downgrade method. Thanks in advance!
1) it's an upgrade.
2) you can apply an update to upgrade to FRG83D.
3) You can root either way, it's not related.
4) Beginner users should look at my signature. Everything mentioned in my reply is there.
welcome to android. if you stay around you'll learn to love it.
Hi Can someone please advise me if I can root this model phone (I9000DTJP3). All I am interested is to get Darkys 8.0 ROM into my mobile.
I am unable to find any instruction for this particular model anywhere. I am just starting to learn different jargon's.
Please post me any link to step by step instructions on rooting.
I have official firmware Froyo 2.2 on my mobile which got updated through samsung kies.
I have also managed to fix my 3 combo button issue. So I have recovery/download console access. If anything goes wrong, is there any way I can take a backup and restore the backup later?
Thanks very much for any assistance.

Hi,
I need to know more detail. Your firmware code is DTJP3. Where you from?
Tmobile branded? Vibrant or I9000?

Hi,
I have bought a new nexus one, it is unlocked from HTC and runs on 2.1, my question is how do i update it manually to 2.3.4?
I am new at this so if you explain clearly so i don't mess up.
Thanks inadvance
First you open your browser and go to google. Then you type in Nexus One manual update.
Welcome Masantula!
First of all, read the wikis and the FAQ guides available on XDA forums. There is a lot of information available that can help you get started.
Did you just want to update to stock 2.3.4 ROM? It would help if you could provide more information on your Nexus One.
Go to Settings>About Phone then post back with the Baseband version and, kernel version and build number details.
It would be great to know if you have a AMOLED or SLCD version of the Nexus One. The updating process is slightly different from my own experience. To find out, switch off your phone then restart it again by holding down the vol down button first then power on. You should see a page with three androids on skateboards, have a look then you should see details of MICROP. Is yours 0b15 (AMOLED) or 0c15 (SLCD)?
Can't he just type *#*#2432546#*#* ?
Read my signature, look there for "Unroot/restore" guide, PASSIMG method, using FRG83. Execute, and you'll be on 2.2.1 (if you're not already). From that point, just wait until you get the update OTA.

Hi Philip.
Go to the link below and follow the instructions under PASSIMG method, using FRG83. Once you do that than you will be on stock Froyo (2.2.1).
After this you can check your phone for a new OTA update, current one out is 2.3.4.
If you don't get the OTA update go to the link below to know how to manual update your phone to 2.3.3 and than 2.3.4. Start with 2.3.3 followed by 2.3.4
PASSIMG Method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wik...des_&_Tutorials#Unroot_.2F_Restore_your_Nexus
Android 2.3.3 manual update:

Android 2.3.4 manual update:

I'm trying to follow this guide but the link for Recovery-Only SBF for Milestones with firmware 2.1 is down. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of that? Thanks
Follow THIS guide. It describes everything you need to know and has every file you will need.
