[P8 Lite] Updating the huawei p8 lite when it rootes

Hello,what going to append if i update my rooted phone on B136 to B170 because i readed that if i update with OTA Update my phone can go in a bootloop. Thanks for the answer.

It might be possible. Do not update ota when you are rooted. Download the latest firmware from huawei-updates.ru for your specified model, take the zip into your sdcard in a folder named dload ( you can create it if you dont have it) and go to updater, local update and select it.

I made that you say but didn't worked ... thanks for the help .

Keep it in that folder and try to force update by powering down your phone and power it up pressing vol up+ down and power button

Nooo! don't know why but my phone go to a bootloop.... tried everythink....

U need adb toolkit, a version of b170, search on huawei-updates.ru , prefferably the european version. Get huawei package extractor and extract from update.app found in the zip of b170, system.img, cust.img, boot.img,recovery.img. and flash them one by one in fastboot mode. If not, if u had a nandroid backup made with twrp u can restore. U can search google on a detailed guide to do that, as I may induce you in error, not a native explainer talent here

Or you can extract it and flash automatically all in one clic with a script(for all firmware )

I got to beta 6.0, installed twrp, root it, but it did not permanently, uninstall some system app (google+, maps, etc) after a few reboots superSU was asking for binaries; so I unroot it.
How can I get back to stock recovery? And if so, If I make a factory reset, would it boot correctly for a new setup (because of the erased apps earlier).

OK people, so i bring another (hopefuly helpful to someone) exprecience with BOOTLOOP.
Problem: I had stock B200 firmware (5.0.2). I wanted to try beta update of marshmallow, so i decided to try it. It was told me i can update directly from B200 one, so i just copied update.zip to DLOAD folder, went to settings and run local update. The phone restarted, booted into recovery and started flashing. BUT, i forgot that i had custom TWRP recovery and not stock one, anyway, TWRP started flashing the zip, error after error, but some files still copied and bricked the phone. I couldnt start any recovery, just fastboot and some mode that should download online file and reflash system, but it would be very easy so it has error too.
Here is what i did:
1. Download the update zip of marshmallow you were trying to flash and unpack UPDATE.APP
2. Extrac: RECOVERY.img and BOOT.img
3. set phone to fastboot mode and flash extracted BOOT.img, then RECOVERY.img
4. after that, you need somehow copy whole B200 firmware into sdcard / dload folder (i took micro sd and inserted into another phone, then copied it)
5. now you can boot into force flashing mode (power + volume up + volume down buttons) and it automaticaly reflash whole system.
6. after reboot you can use your P8

Tried exactly as you say, STILL Software install failed.

Can you send me link which system you are trying to flash? Maybe you have just bad package

I did exactly the same mistake as you and the same steps to fix it. I flashed those 2, places the update.app + the other files to dload and then 3 button update and I got to the huawei music and animation. Then it restarted.

Actually i do, i bricked my phone one after that later, and this helped: http://www.huawei-info.de/p8-mm-rollback flash B300 rollback zip with 3 buttons combination, then flash B200 full zip. I hope it will help :good:

okay, do this:
in fastboot flash those files from Marshmallow B313: recovery.img, boot.img and cust.img
then try to flash rollback, the CUST.img is very important to flash

Okay have chaos in this all files, maybe it was B200 cust, or B170 cust, try one of them, but boot.img and recovery.img must be from Beta

If you are on 5.0.1 with root and twrp then you are good, or do you want try BETA? if yes then you need stock recovery flash before flashing beta

Honor 5C (Nem-L21) - How to return back stock rom from CM13

Hi, I would've asked if they could tell me someone help me how to return the original rom on my Honor 5C (Nem-L21). Currently I have recorded CM13 (Meticulus). Or whether they can be uploaded at least some custom rom with EMUI. Please help me.

Do u have the system dump as instructed by Meticulus to return back to stock?

I can never find the official rom for Nem-L21 or official recovery. I tried to Nem-L22 (india version, Android 6.0.1), but failed ... I flash recovery for Nem-L22 and the firmware file UPDATE.APP move to a folder "dload" on the SD card, but crashed on 5%.
now downloading stock rom (Bulgarian version, EMUI 4.1, Android 6.0), I'll try as soon as the download (about 5 hours), but i dont have a official recovery for Nem-L21

if you can change to Nem-L21 or something else, not against it, but I want to EMUI original firmware to my phone.

Just use huawei update extractor, and extract the update app. There u will find recovery.img. Simply extract that and flash it.

Honor 5C can't flash nougat

Hi guys.
I'm having problem with flashing nougat on my NEM-L21C432B132. I'm on 6.0 at the moment and I used both dload folder on sdcard method and Firmware Finder. Tried different versions and I keep getting warning saying "incompatibility with current version". How do I solve this ?
I have no root, stock recovery, unlocked bootloader. I thought it could be because of unlocked BL, but I cannot seem to lock it as "fastboot oem lock" doesn't work for me.

You can download full firmware and flash it via dload method..

I tried using the dialpad code and going to "Software Update" and tried the 3 buttons (VOL UP, DOWN and POWER ON ) method and I get the same error. Can I just install TWRP and flash the .zips I get from extracting the update.app file ?
EDIT: Just tried TWRP. I get error 7 and the flashing procedure doesn't even start

At the moment I have full firmware downloaded from Huawei Firmware Finder
The one called exactly : NEM-L21C432B352 FullOTA-MF . I believe that's the right one ? If not, which one is ?

Its not in update.app format right??
You can download full firmware from honor official site according to your model and build number..and then try to flash..

It is in .zip format but I extract it and put the update.app into dload folder. I will try to download from honor official site and let you guys now if there's any progress.
EDIT: just had a look on the website. There's no firmware for Honor 5C there. Can anyone point me how can I make nougat work and where do I download the right files ?

Just downloaded and got the same error. Please can anybody tell me do I have to be on locked bootloader to have OTA's or dload method updates working ?

You dont need to relock boot loader for ota..or upgrade..
All you have to be on stock recovery

Hello,
I have extracted the update.app from the 6.0 version, flashed boot.img and recovery.img through fastboot, and my phone found the update even without using the Firmware Finder..strange but I have downloaded it and flashed without problems. My bootloader didn't even lock after flashing which happens from what I've read. Anyway I'm on the newest firmware ATM and also it's rooted. Maybe someone can explain that in case anyone had a similar problem in the future ?

What was the size of OTA? If it was 300-400 MB then it would not harm for bootloader or recovery

It was full size, the one above 1GB.

OTA normally doesn't lock bootloader. Have seen this in my 5X.

I can't see what files I need.
I have the update zip and the 2 other zip files.
cant succeed with dload.
how to do the right process?

advice for all people : never flash TWRP in RECOVERY partition, flash it in RECOVERY2 partition to get twrp and dload method works both
to fix your problem you must extract (whith Huawei Update Extractor ) RECOVERY.img from the stock rom (update.app) then flash it to recovery partion then use dload method
