Urgent Help Needed
Thanks

You've got to be kidding!
This is a Windows Mobile forum. you were told this in another thread and now your posting here again. Don't take this the wrong way but unless your interested in flashing WM6 into your Iphone we aren't interested in your problem.
can you say Google!
Are you freakin' serious?
How many times do I have to repeat myself?
Windows Mobile != iPhoney
man, if only I had mod powers....
I am sorry!
After thinking about your problem I found myself feeling bad about my other post. So I am going to help you unlock your iphone. Now your going to need some special tools. Get a large hammer, a small sharp chisel and a flat hard surface to work on. first take your Iphone and lay it display down on the flat surface, then take the chisel and place it just above the middle of the phone. Now take your hammer and hit the end of the chisel with the heavy end of the hammer and keep doing that until you have a small pile of iphone pieces. be careful not to damage the chisel or hammer, SO now you have an unlocked iphone but beware that now that it is unlocked you void your warranty. But don't worry you can always get a WM6 device.

Ouch... that was mean... But true. Seriously, stop with the iPhone unlocking requests. We're not meant for that.

Brilliant advice!!! And to think it took that high school kid a coupla weeks to figure out the unlock hack. As always, you guys here are on top of things, and always so helpful. Of course, I won't be able to use your wonderful advice. I'm stuck here with a crappy Windows based device (I know, WHAT was I thinking?)...I should have jumped on the overpriced, overhyped bandwagon and paid $600 for the iPhone. Instead, I am stuck with a SIM/CID unlocked, totally customizable Wizard instead. Someone bend me over and spank me for my stupidity.
Well, it was posted in "Off-topic"
i moved it here from wizard upgrade or some forum

Nice one.
Or, insert a key into SIM-slot. Use hammer if needed. Turn key using a set of pliers. Once the screen bends outwards, you have an unlocked phone
(NOTE: I didn't say it would still work afterwards though)
I dropped superglue on my screen.
Can I use nail polish remover to clean it?
Or do you know any other chemical that would not damage my screen?
Oh jeez man..
You could try using the women's nail manicure removing liquid.. not sure what it's called, its sold in almost every store.. made to dissolve the nail polish - it's a pretty strong acid, but I doubt it's strong enough to damage the screen.... unless of course you will rub it in.. I'd just put it on and wait for it to dissolve the glue.
Of course, use at ur own risk =)
Jeez thats harsh...
Anyway, i use "Hammerite Metal Brush Thinners" for that sort of thing, its awesome stuff... im sure it'll even take your eyebrows off if you wanted to...
try Acetone or GooGone in an area close to corner of screen so to make sure it do not mess up the screen... if it don't mess up the screen, then you can try to rub either on the glue gently......
*I'm not responsible for damage though..
DO NOT use anything abrasive on your screen!
Take a damp rag and get the superglue wet. Once it is damp for a while start to rub it gently. Superglue is water soluble for safety purposes. It can take as long as 15 minutes of water exposure before it breaks down.
Too much water is bad, it will get into other parts of the device and possibly cause corrosion. Too little water will not break down the super glue.
I'd say less is more in this case. Take out the battery, clean the screen, let it dry well and then reinsert the battery.
no no no dont use acetone (nail polish) it will damage your screen more it will eat it (melt it down)

Haha, that's a good one. With cyano glue the only thing that ill have a chance is acetone. But as said above it might damage the screen even more (don't get any anywhere else like the front cover), and even if it does the glue will certainly leave stains.
Prepare yourself for a screen replacement...
Thanks for the advises. I will try the water first then the rest.
I will report back tonight.
take it easy brother - it will be resolved
use room temp. water (nothing else) as one of the boys said use little amount i advise using cotton it will hold the amont of water you want to apply
dude - not to get you worried but back up your data before procedure
our prayers,

My front screen has lots of scratches on it. Can I use plastic buffer polish and polish them out? What will the impact be?
What is a Digitizer?
My sceen also looks like it has speckles inside it, from being dropped, any way to fix this?

Digitizer is a part of the screen which makes the screen touch sensitive.
Dude... haven't you heard of screen protectors? I believe other than changing your whole lcd screen, there is no way to buff the scratches away. and you mentioned that you dropped your diamond numerous times? Bro, the ppc is a very delicate device. I think you need to go to the service center to get it checked...
Digitizers are usually made of glass, and the scratched part of the surface is usually a gasket-like protective plastic.
Fortunately replacing the protective layer is *usually* trivial, but honestly your best bet is as the above poster stated, you need a service center.
Thanks for the info
i had some scratches, i read in another topic that rubbing toothpaste and a piece of banana over your screen helps... well.. it really DOES (a little bit) BUT it will mess up the glossy look a little

Hahahha!
i used black paint, then used petrol to rub it off. Unfortunately my friend lit up a cigar then KABOOOM happened and now i have no phone
I didnt even have the pleasure of rubbing a banana on it
The moral of the story is, before you accidentally blow your phone up, atleast rub a banana on it. It might smell better when it burns ;P
Dropped my phone in a cup off coffee this morning! :'(
It didn't completely cover the phone, only half way.
So I removed battery straight away and dried it with a hair dryer...lol
Put battery back in and everything was fine! Until about half an hour later because now the menu home and back buttons don't work! I've dried it a couple of times again and they work now an then but now they just won't respond at all!
Any ideas on what I should do?
That must be because the coffee got dry and sticky under the buttons...
Well it happened to me, I dropped a cup of coffee but it was on a keyboard.
I went to the shower and washed it with hot water to wipe out all the coffee...
...but on a phone I'm not sure I would do it this way.
Hmm well I am thinking about taking it apart and giving it a wipe/dry
Rubbing Alcohol will be your friend.
1) roll back before you dropped it.
2) ask for all-risk insurrance.
3) call them.
4) enjoy new phone.
your phone is probably overdosing on caffeine lol
i can feel another 'help i spilled milk on my phone' post coming on
[serious mode]
if you are tekkie enough, open up the phone
buy a can a compressed electronics cleaning foam (you can get those in electronic parts stores, and some odd computer stores)
splay over the area where the coffe was dipped
let it sit a few minutes, then rinse away.
alternatively, instead of the foam you can just use a toothbrush with alcohol and rinse over it, then use a can of compressed air, to dry it
if you are not tech enough to do any of the above... just call the insurance as suggested above.

LOL this topic reminds of this spilled milk issue http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021540

SGS runs java .
jje
Lmfao, got no insurance for it!
But I took it apart cleaned it with alcohol, dried it etc and its fine now except the home button doesn't work, but I can live with that
Plus I wasn't that worried, I'm getting SGS II on Monday
The Galaxy S...Handbricked by Juan Valdez.
Maybe you should switch to espresso
Sorry, couldn't resist...
If you put the phone in bowl of rice for a few days, it will remove the moisture.
Hey guys and gals, I've got a midnight blue nexus 6 and I've noticed that the back of it is really bad for holding oily residue and finger prints. Does anyone know what we can use to clean it?? I want to keep my device as good as new, I was thinking about getting a clear skin BUT I wasn't sure if the adhesive could ruin the back!? HELP!
i use an alcohol pad and a bounty paper towel
I just use the back of my shirt. Device looks brand new lol
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Before my phone came in, I heard the back was prone to fingerprints and oil. So as soon as my phone came, the first thing I did was put my dbrand skin on the back. No fingerprints, no oil.
The adhesive from the skin will not ruin the device, I looked into this a lot before my purchase. When you take the skin off, there will be zero trace of any adhesive. Its a special thing used, I forgot what's its called.

It shouldn't...
As long as you use the alcohol you can buy at the pharmacy... Its been slightly diluted to keep from burning your skin...
Do not use acetone, lacquer thinner, or nail polish remover
I search the forums and realize there already is a thread on this so I wouldn't create a second thread.
