Help please, my note 5 n920c stolen. - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My note 5 sm n920c got stolen, it was protected with fingerprint security and back up pin. I changed my google password, unable to locate or wipe it through my google account, it says can't reach the device, and it doesn't show up in samsung account. What really bothering me is gallery(photos and videos)and other docs(unfortunately no back up either). Is there any way thief might get into my stuff??
Kindly share your expert opinion, I'm really worried about it
Thank you

Found an IPhone 6...

Is there anyway I can get it to work again and have my daughter use it? I'm just stuck at the Icloud Activation screen. I already restored trough iTunes. But would like for her to use it. Might as well, you know. I found it in a parking lot. Thanks in advance.

Why not turn it in at the closest store to the parking lot? Or look at the phone details ...messages or phone log, find out who's it is and get in touch with them or a frequently messaged/called contact??
Anything....aside from keeping it and trying to get it to work. Cause they will likely report it lost and it will be blacklisted anyway and no longer function. Plus as it is, it's tied to their account.
Oh wait....instead of any of that, you wiped it it seems. So you basically stole it. (or at least did absolutely nothing to find the owner.....and wiped it to try and make it yours.....which you won't, cause it will be attached to someones account...and eventually will be IMEI Blacklisted. Please don't say you tried....cause one call or text to a contact and you would have tracked down the owner. You could have called the carrier to and reported it found.)
You won't find help on XDA with that. And I hope despite your actions....that if you lose your phone, wallet, or something important....a respectable citizen returns it to you.
Disappointing thread is now closed.

Help with Nexus 6 stuck in demo mode

I have searched the XDA forums and have not found anything that pertains to this (I hope I didnt miss something), if I did miss something could you point me in the right direction? Here is the problem:
I recently got a Nexus 6 from my work, it was a store demo. I am having problems unlocking the bootloader in order to flash to the stock firmware. I have tried using the nexus root tool kit, adb, fastboot and android sdk, but to no avail. I am posting here because I am new to this and may have missed something. The phone is stuck in the demo mode and all the settings are locked, meaning that I cannot get into developer mode and check unlock oem bootloader, and cannot get into any other type of setting to take apps or switch security settings. When I try and open the developer options or other settings, I get a picture of a padlock with a caption of "This device is locked" and " Certain device features are unavailable for demonstrative purpose". It is running Marshmallow 6.0.1 and the build # is MMB29Q. I already have all the stock .img's and need a little help getting past this lock. So any help would be great.
Thank you
if its running in demo mode, then it is also running different software. since its on different software, i dont know if its possible to enable bootloader unlock in the dev options. if you cant enable that option, then the bootloader is not unlockable. but that all is just my guess.
Installing one of the OTA images may help with this.

I tried to install OTA using adb, kept getting a message saying "missing APK file". Any ideas?
So, I have not found a way to get out of the demo mode. I went ahead and did a factory reset on the phone, bug mistake. Now I have the problem of not knowing how to login due to the fact that I cannot get past the google sign in part after the factory reset. Any ideas?
Thank you
Bypassing factory reset protection can be done, but it isn't easy. For your sake, let's hope that you don't have the latest security updates installed on the phone.

The build is MMB29Q running 6.0 I found a back door kinda, I can get into the phone but will not let me get into developer mode doing this, and reset the phone, still needs original google sign in. I added a new google account under users in settings,to see if that would help, but still no luck getting into developer mode or other options. bootloader locked, so cannot get into adb shell. Any help, difficult or not, would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Get the original sign-in or have the original owner remove the device from the account. Those are far easier to accomplish than attempting to bypass FRP.

There is no "original" owner as it was a store demo. I have emailed the gmail account that was associated with it but no reply. I noticed that all the store demos had the same gmail associated with them. I believe that they may have been set up in mass, then sent out to the stores.

I work for a Verizon retailer in the U.S.. I believe that the people or person who set up the demo mode and set the google login were the ones who the retailer got the phones from. As I have asked the procurement manager, and he does not know either. They have a repair center located inside the store, this store refurbishes old store demos. I used to work for that department, now I am a field tech for that same retailer. They were having a hard time getting rid of the store demo on this phone, because there is no place to put a pass word in under the demo app, that we can find. They asked me to help, I could not figure it out on my own, so I came here to ask for some help.

I assumed that logins/passwords for all demo phones are the same. That's usual in shops etc.You could try the login used by 'refurbish department.
When not successful..... call Motorola.

That's the problem, the people in the repair/refurbish department do not know the logins/password either, that is why they asked me to help unlock these phones, so they could sell/ use motherboards for repairs. Motorola it is then, unless there is a way around the lock, which I was hoping to find here.
Thank you

I don't think you will find on XDA how to bypass Google's anti-theft stuff. It's against the xda-rules.
It is the retailer or Motorola!
Btw when the phones have been sold as 'demo' (cheaper); I don't think the retailer will help.

As I have said I work for the original Verizon retailer, who is also doing the refurbishing. and its not like they wont help, its that they don't know either. I am trying to help them, that being said, I did not know that this is against the rules of the XDA forums (guess I should have read the rules). Thanks for the input!

flash the factory image for android 5.0, set it up, put in your own security then flash android 6.0.1. i say 5.0 because thats before googles security went into affect.
---------- Post added at 04:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:37 PM ----------
now this isnt an official way around googles security, nor a non official way, its a way to fix human error. thats all.

Unless you changed it, your username should be your email address. Go to Samsung.com on a computer or another phone, and try resetting your password like was said with your email address. You should receive a temporary password to reset your account through an email, unless you don't remember your email address either.

Why coming back with same question again dude?
Read post 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 that should help you.
There is no "crack" or "hack" for it, wich is good in case someone tries to reset a stolen phone.

I would say it is safe to assume you might as well flush the phone, I don't know how one simply forgets the email they used for their Samsung account... It is one of your emails that you use, otherwise I'm going to say it is safe to assume this phone is stolen and NOBODY here will help if that's the case.

It is NEVER safe to ASSUME someone is a thief / owns stolen phone or not.
He should read all posts I pointed out before here. That should help him.
I also pointed out there is no way or crack or hack for this phone he owns, it is a safety_inbuild something wich is good in case a phone gets stolen.
The person in question has had all the answers from us that could possible be helpful .
So it is pointless and not safe to ASSUME someone owns a stolen phone because you simply can not know that as a fact.
I am not going to discuss this any further with you but I think your posting is shamelessly ignorant by assuming something you can not know or even prove.

Why do you need to bypass FRP? It's used to prevent theft of your device so why would you even want that?

Perhaps OP bought a pixel second hand and the phone was shipped via carrier instead of in person? That's nothing unreasonable.

What if the seller ghosted OP? Have you heard about scams? Although, if @shawnbro4 believes he/she was sold a stolen device, go to the police. They'll go after the seller hopefully.
There are ways to bypass FRP on a Pixel, but I feel like it violates forum rules by providing such information.

No, police can't do anything unfortunately. This type of thing happens thousands of times every single day, all over the world. In the US at least, it's considered a civil matter - not criminal. They'll take down a report if you insist on filing one, but they can't - and won't - get involved

You are right. I hve not had to think about bypassing frp since my old Galaxy s8, the process is now a little vague.
After reasearching, It is much easier to do now.
You can absolutely bypass FRP. Using Wifi and Google Assistant, you can reset the phone via settings to bypass. Worked on my Google Locked Verizon Google Pixel 4a 5g.
