I have looked at a bit of youtube videos so far on how to take out the logic board. I can't find out what is different between the phones at all.. I have a broken lcd on my sprint Note 5 and I have a person who has a google locked t-mobile note 5.. not looking to spend money on a brand new phone or paying 200 bucks for a deductible when the note 8 might be coming out in the near future.
My plan was to swap the lcd from the t-mobile donor but I was thinking about just taking the logic board and putting it into the t-mobile note 5 but. I'm confused when it comes to connectivity on my network. If I just swap the logic boards will I have some issues or should I try my best not to break the digitizer on the t-mobile one and put it on to mine.

In korea, SANSUNG use international product's refurbished panel to domestic product#
Domestic product(Korea) = ramdom (new, refurbished)
International ver. = New
How do you know it wasn't just for another refurbishes phone?
Apples does this all the time. When you send your iPhone for repair they send you what seems like a bran new one immediately. Its just a refurb. Same with their laptops depending on the issue. Always have done it for me and my iPod's here in Canada. Whole turn around for the customer ends up being < 5 business days that way.

Makes sense. Lol at all those people sending in their phones for the 'perfect screen' only to get back the 'perfect refurb' hahaha ha ha.
dismissed by Samsung, move on.
Well I have a Note 4 and Edge and if these are using recycled screens I don't care as they both look amazing. These are new high resolution screens not used in any other sevices so not sure how they would have spare used recycled screens.
i'm not concern about this, so long the refurbished panel looks as good as new and Samsung still honours the warranty...
Many manufacturers will send refurbs as replacements. If you think about it fixing your phone once would make it refurbished too,so there's no problem as long as everything works.

I have read in many places that refurbs can actually better. When you get a new one it hasn't been tested as much as a refurb. Refurbs go through intense testing. Same goes for floor models at the store. They have a specially marked Package for floor models that have extensively tested and may even have better parts inside. Statistics show that the floor models last longer than brand new, even if 1000 people walk by and push buttons on a stereo. Depending on the item this could be more beneficial and more cost effective. Not saying I would by a floor model note 4 but I have purchased floor model entertainment systems with Excelet results. If I could save $150 and buy a note 4 for $600 but was a refurb. I would jump on it.
Hi @ all, i've just got my brand new Verizon Note 5 a few days ago, and today i've dropped it and the AMOLED inside (not the outer Glass) has a couple of hairline cracks which caused a black screen. The blue LED on the Top is still lightning. Anyone knows where i can buy a new LCD Assembly ? ebay, etradesupply and other shops for parts dont have it (yet). Anyone knows other shops where i can buy it ? Maybe i need to wait because the phone is still too new for getting parts for it.. ?
You can most likely still sign up for insurance through your carrier, pay a deductible and get a new one overnighted.
Most carriers have a 30 day grace period to allow for insurance signups.
+1^ but may be considered insurance fraud but it really wouldnt be questioned.
Samsung will fix it pretty cheaply usually.
with Sprint, after getting a new phone, they give you some number of days for you to add insurance before it's too late, as ksantangelo23 mentioned.

The replacement screen on this phone is so expensive - Generic chinese replacements are over $100. OEM LCDs on ebay can be $150 and that's just for the part. Samsung did not offer a Marshmallow update and I see Note 4s for around $200 on up (conditions vary of course) which means that our Note 3 is worth less than $200. I don't understand why part prices don't go down. Who is going to buy these screens?
Would you toss your Note 3 if the screen broke?
Personally, I would try and find someone selling a used note 3 with damage internals and a working screen.
Don't think the note 3 with a busted screen would be worth much.
anyone know the best place to get replacement lcd/digitizer ..
seems to be abundant of them on ebay ..but how we know which one?
What prices are you seeing? Last time I looked, they were $170 - $200 for the screen assembly.
I just shipped my phone off to an official Samsung repair center. It took about a week and cost $182 with tax for parts and labor on a new LCD/digitizer/screen for my Note 5. In addition to changing the screen, they also changed the metal side part, it's brand new with no scratches. That seems like a better deal to go that route if you have a spare phone you can use for a week. Just hop on Samsung's website to get the number to call. Don't fall for their ~$74 price quote. That's how much they charge just to diagnose your problem. I told them exactly what my problem was and what was needed, she told me $74. I nearly peed myself. After the repair center got it, they canceled that charge and told me it would be an extra $X for the parts and $74 was the diagnostic fee. Still, $182 total for parts and labor is a good deal, comparatively.
thanks for the write up!......
actually I have it dismantled already..... just wondering best place to buy replacement seems to average price at Same price you paid for fix.
I'm in dublin and note 5 wasn't sold in europe so I set about fixing it myself.
where to get original Samsung part and be sure it is Samsung part?
Anyone taken a chance on these? The seller's FB is good, been around about three years so not a total fly-by-night, but the pics look like stock photos. I'll link the exact posting if asked, but figure it's prolly bad form/would appear to be shilling. Suddenly feel the need to correct my decision to go with the G2 way back when.
Neverminded, found one domestically which made more sense anyway
What did you end up doing? What color? I got 32gb 821 with a 820 white backplate. Two connectors to the LTE antenna missing. Besides that it was in the original packaging . All original charger and cables. 65 bucks with shipping.
Grabbed on on Amazon. Then learned that only AT&T still supports 4G without VoLTE, and even they are only doing so till February, so between now and then I have to pick up what I should have bought in the first place, a Pixel 3 and my N5 basically becomes a tiny wifi tablet I can screw around with mounting Linux.
