Dos the Note 3 have any value if the screen breaks? - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The replacement screen on this phone is so expensive - Generic chinese replacements are over $100. OEM LCDs on ebay can be $150 and that's just for the part. Samsung did not offer a Marshmallow update and I see Note 4s for around $200 on up (conditions vary of course) which means that our Note 3 is worth less than $200. I don't understand why part prices don't go down. Who is going to buy these screens?
Would you toss your Note 3 if the screen broke?

Personally, I would try and find someone selling a used note 3 with damage internals and a working screen.
Don't think the note 3 with a busted screen would be worth much.

Should I trade my phone in to the carrrier

Verizon will suppousedly give me $550 for my 128gb Edge. And that's probably about the same amount I'd get at swappa, everyone lowballs you there.
That $550 almost pays off the $758.64 I paid Verizon for my note 5
I did. Verizon was offering much more than other resell sites, and I didn't want to go through the hassle of swappa, eBay, or craigslist.
Just need to test my note 5 for a few days, last time I got a note it had problems I didn't notice till after 14 days so they wouldn't let me return it (the lag on it was ridiculous)

Seems like a fair price considering. You can get more, even after fees by selling it yourself, but I don't know if the trouble would be worth it.
The note 5 beats the pants off my edge, I've loaded All my apps. It closes apps less, brighter screen, the dpi/bigger screen feels really nice, spen is great, and the white color is a nice change of pace from my black/blue edge.
I need a case asap tho, the 2.5d glass corners still annoy me. I end up clicking on things with the fingers I hold the phone with.
Also have to convert my 100gbs of storage from my edge to fit on my 32gb note lol

Need a LCD Assembly for my Note 5

Hi @ all, i've just got my brand new Verizon Note 5 a few days ago, and today i've dropped it and the AMOLED inside (not the outer Glass) has a couple of hairline cracks which caused a black screen. The blue LED on the Top is still lightning. Anyone knows where i can buy a new LCD Assembly ? ebay, etradesupply and other shops for parts dont have it (yet). Anyone knows other shops where i can buy it ? Maybe i need to wait because the phone is still too new for getting parts for it.. ?
You can most likely still sign up for insurance through your carrier, pay a deductible and get a new one overnighted.
Most carriers have a 30 day grace period to allow for insurance signups.
+1^ but may be considered insurance fraud but it really wouldnt be questioned.
Samsung will fix it pretty cheaply usually.
with Sprint, after getting a new phone, they give you some number of days for you to add insurance before it's too late, as ksantangelo23 mentioned.

note 5 lcd replacement

anyone know the best place to get replacement lcd/digitizer ..
seems to be abundant of them on ebay ..but how we know which one?
What prices are you seeing? Last time I looked, they were $170 - $200 for the screen assembly.
I just shipped my phone off to an official Samsung repair center. It took about a week and cost $182 with tax for parts and labor on a new LCD/digitizer/screen for my Note 5. In addition to changing the screen, they also changed the metal side part, it's brand new with no scratches. That seems like a better deal to go that route if you have a spare phone you can use for a week. Just hop on Samsung's website to get the number to call. Don't fall for their ~$74 price quote. That's how much they charge just to diagnose your problem. I told them exactly what my problem was and what was needed, she told me $74. I nearly peed myself. After the repair center got it, they canceled that charge and told me it would be an extra $X for the parts and $74 was the diagnostic fee. Still, $182 total for parts and labor is a good deal, comparatively.
thanks for the write up!......
actually I have it dismantled already..... just wondering best place to buy replacement seems to average price at Same price you paid for fix.
I'm in dublin and note 5 wasn't sold in europe so I set about fixing it myself.
where to get original Samsung part and be sure it is Samsung part?

Note 5 logic board swaps

I have looked at a bit of youtube videos so far on how to take out the logic board. I can't find out what is different between the phones at all.. I have a broken lcd on my sprint Note 5 and I have a person who has a google locked t-mobile note 5.. not looking to spend money on a brand new phone or paying 200 bucks for a deductible when the note 8 might be coming out in the near future.
My plan was to swap the lcd from the t-mobile donor but I was thinking about just taking the logic board and putting it into the t-mobile note 5 but. I'm confused when it comes to connectivity on my network. If I just swap the logic boards will I have some issues or should I try my best not to break the digitizer on the t-mobile one and put it on to mine.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 display replacement

Hi guys,
So I was unlucky and the first fall of my new Xiaomi resulted to a break on my screen on the lower left bottom. The phone is fully functional but I was trying to search for the cost of a new screen in order to replace it. The truth is that the cost is really high. It's that high that it's better worth it to buy the cheap version of the Mi Note 2 than buying a new screen!
So, I'm here to ask if anyone has found any value for money proposal for a new replacement display for the phone!
Not really ... All the screens from china are 100-200 dollars ... Very expensive part if you are unlucky ... Try at aliexpress to search and try to make a deal with the seller , maybe you will get a good price
I think that one of the problem is the OLED screen is not cheap. And China is far away from us.The post must be not cheap.
