Moto G2 Root without PC, broken USB - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have a Moto G2 (2014) with unlocked bootloader.
Unfortunately it is not rooted currently. Due to some water damage, the USB port now only works for charging.
If I connect to PC it does not recognize it.
I would like to install twrp to install custom ROM or use FlashFire.
Since USB to PC is not working, I can't fastboot twrp.
Flashfire needs sudo which I don't have.
I tried towelroot, kingroot etc but they didn't work.
Device is running -
Android 6.0
Build No MPB24.65-34-3
Is there any working way to root this without USB ?
Thanks!

Windows keeps asking for MTP/ADB drivers in TWRP 2.8.7.0

Hey all,
I need help. Just got me a new Moto G (2014) and everything works properly, except for that whenever I'm in TWRP (2..8.7.0) Windows XP (yeah, I know) keeps asking to install both MTP and ADB drivers for my Moto G. This is extremely frustrating as it means I can't use ADB from recovery, nor mount my phone as USB while in recovery.
Edit: When I disable MTP in TWRP Windows just asks for "Moto G 2014" drivers. Which it also won't find/install. Argh!
To be clear: I installed the Motorola Device Manager and the drivers are present and work fine whenever I boot into my stock ROM.
Phone is unlocked & rooted (latest SuperSU, 2.46), but otherwise fully stock. No further modifications.
Anybody able (willing?) to help me out??
minimal ABD drivers v1.31 with fastboot and MDM 2.5.4 not tested on xp but hope it helps

Moto G Titan XT1068 usb port not working

Hi everyone.
While I was still running the phone stock and rooted my phone stopped reading usb otg devices and was no longer recognised by a pc. I carried on using the phone and used an sdcard to transfer files. After a while I sent it to a repair center and they told me that physically there is nothing wrong with the phone. So I took it back and flashed CM13 with TWRP. Before flashing gapps I connected it to a pc and the pc recognised it as a device. I could use ADB and transfer files. After flashing gapps I'm back to how it was, otg devices aren't recognised and pc's don't recognise the phone.
Can anyone help me? Anybody experience something similar and did you fix it? If so how?
Thanks for any help you can provide in advance.
So for giggles I booted to fastboot and plugged in my phone. Guess what? Minimal ADB can see the phone. I'll be flashing stock firmware and I'll report back
I successfully flashed the stock firmware on my moto g but the problem still persists. Oh well

If I've unlocked bootloader can i root with kingroot?

My phone doesn't connect to pc. I don't know why I've tried every possible solution I know. I'm running 5.0.2. Also my phone doesn't show any recovery right now. It says 'no command'. I have unrooted it. I wanna root again so I can flash twrp through phone. Will kingroot work if I have unlocked bootloader. Also which twrp version is compatible with lollipop?
Have u installed motorola drivers in pc ? If not do that to make it work .. i guess kingroot wont work

Yes I've installed Motorola drivers. Used many usbs. Checked/unchecked MTP and debugging options. When connected to pc it charges but doesn't go into MTP mode.

Magisk 13.3 kills USB on Motorola XT1572

This is a very strange issue that I have been struggling with for a few months now. I have two Motorola XT1572 (Moto X Style), both on official 7.0 Nougat (25.11.15) received via OTA. The bootloader is unlocked on both devices. After the Nougat update I verified that USB worked fine and installed Magisk 13.3 on both devices, by sideloading TWRP via USB while keeping the stock recovery. Magisk worked fine and I eventually updated to 14.0 via the Magisk app.
At some point I realized that both phones are not connecting via USB any more - neither on Win7/8, nor on Linux. They are not recognized at all - no toast message asking for "Charging" vs "MTP". I have tried different cables and computers and played around with the drivers until satisfied that this is not the cause.
Both devices are charging fine, even though they are not turbo charging anymore after the Nougat update. However, both devices are also NOT connecting via USB in ADB or Fastboot modes. Since both devices are affected in an identical fashion at the same time, a hardware issue is unlikely.
I don't know if this was caused by Magisk 13.3 or 14.0 , since I don't remember when I first encountered the issue (before or after the update).
To top it off, I removed Magisk on one of the devices vie the uninstall option in the Magisk app. I did it originally to receive the next OTA security update, which didn't work (obviously Magisk 13.3 has modified the boot partition). Now, on that phone root is gone, but the USB issue persists - no way to connect to anything. Since I have no TWRP and cannot connect via USB, I cannot get Magisk installed again and am stuck with an unrooted device...
Has anyone encountered something similar with Magisk 13.3 (or maybe 14.0)? Any ideas of how to solve the USB issue? If not, at least an idea how I can get Magisk installed again on the unrooted device (then I could flash TWRP, which would open up some additional options)? Thank you!
Try flashing TWRP via fastboot, I have the same problem and currently the only way for me to transfer files is TWRP sadly.
Edit: Just disable USB debugging actually, and I may be too late for this fix x)
I have tried flashing with USB debugging on and off. Both phones do not connect via Fastboot at all (nor via ADB).
help me please
can u patch my file google pixel

Root without CABLE - is it possible? Note 5

Hi there
I would like to root my annoying Samsung Note 5. My usb port only charges it does not work with data at all. It has been replaced to no avail. What process / software (ADB?) can I use to root my phone? Once rooted I intend to install TWRP and use a custom rom.
I have tried Kingoroot but it was unsuccessful.
Thanks!
I too would like an answer as my phone has done the same thing. Won't quick charge via cable and an Windows does not recognize the device error connecting to Windows on any PC.
Have you installed the official Samsung drivers? Try that then install Odin. Put the phone into download mode and launch Odin, see if it detects the device. If so, you might have a chance.
