Magisk 13.3 kills USB on Motorola XT1572 - Magisk

This is a very strange issue that I have been struggling with for a few months now. I have two Motorola XT1572 (Moto X Style), both on official 7.0 Nougat (25.11.15) received via OTA. The bootloader is unlocked on both devices. After the Nougat update I verified that USB worked fine and installed Magisk 13.3 on both devices, by sideloading TWRP via USB while keeping the stock recovery. Magisk worked fine and I eventually updated to 14.0 via the Magisk app.
At some point I realized that both phones are not connecting via USB any more - neither on Win7/8, nor on Linux. They are not recognized at all - no toast message asking for "Charging" vs "MTP". I have tried different cables and computers and played around with the drivers until satisfied that this is not the cause.
Both devices are charging fine, even though they are not turbo charging anymore after the Nougat update. However, both devices are also NOT connecting via USB in ADB or Fastboot modes. Since both devices are affected in an identical fashion at the same time, a hardware issue is unlikely.
I don't know if this was caused by Magisk 13.3 or 14.0 , since I don't remember when I first encountered the issue (before or after the update).
To top it off, I removed Magisk on one of the devices vie the uninstall option in the Magisk app. I did it originally to receive the next OTA security update, which didn't work (obviously Magisk 13.3 has modified the boot partition). Now, on that phone root is gone, but the USB issue persists - no way to connect to anything. Since I have no TWRP and cannot connect via USB, I cannot get Magisk installed again and am stuck with an unrooted device...
Has anyone encountered something similar with Magisk 13.3 (or maybe 14.0)? Any ideas of how to solve the USB issue? If not, at least an idea how I can get Magisk installed again on the unrooted device (then I could flash TWRP, which would open up some additional options)? Thank you!

Try flashing TWRP via fastboot, I have the same problem and currently the only way for me to transfer files is TWRP sadly.
Edit: Just disable USB debugging actually, and I may be too late for this fix x)

I have tried flashing with USB debugging on and off. Both phones do not connect via Fastboot at all (nor via ADB).

help me please
can u patch my file google pixel

Moto G2 Root without PC, broken USB

Hi
I have a Moto G2 (2014) with unlocked bootloader.
Unfortunately it is not rooted currently. Due to some water damage, the USB port now only works for charging.
If I connect to PC it does not recognize it.
I would like to install twrp to install custom ROM or use FlashFire.
Since USB to PC is not working, I can't fastboot twrp.
Flashfire needs sudo which I don't have.
I tried towelroot, kingroot etc but they didn't work.
Device is running -
Android 6.0
Build No MPB24.65-34-3
Is there any working way to root this without USB ?
Thanks!

[SOLVED] Oneplus 2 Bootloop | USB not working

Hello guys,
Recently I bricked my Oneplus 2 by trying to flash a custom Kernel. That would all be no problem, however my PC doesn't recognize my phone. Tried multiple USB ports (multiple PCs) and got the official oneplus drivers installed, still no connection (tested on Windows and Linux) . That got me believing that my USB port was broken (charging still working), so I replaced the USB module however still not working. (Could it be the cable?)
The current state is that I can boot into recovery (TWRP) and fastboot, however trying to boot normally just shows me the android logo forever.
So well my questions are:
1. What could possible be broken at my phone, that the USB connection is not working. (It worked before)
2. Is there any way to push a rom towards my phone without using a USB connection? So without adb?
Thanks a lot in advance!
EDIT: It was the cable ... I think the data pin broke somehow ... and me stupid as a was replaced the USB module 2 times ... Well transferring CarbonOS right now and will flash real so so thread closed!

Flash stock ROM via Stock Recovery issues.

Lost USB functionality, unable to root via USB.
Samsung SM-N920W8, Canadian Note 5. Have successfully rooted many times via odin. Never flashed a custom rom just used stock. Installed Flashfire to wipe system and maintain root. Wiped successfully, lost root. Lost USB ADB functionality and USB fast charge. Unable to OTA because I have a device showing status as "custom". I would like to find a solution if possible to get USB ADB connectivity or root back. This is not a blame game. I knew the risks of using this app. I'm just looking to see if there is a solution. When I connect my note to any windows PC with Samsung drivers and ADB Debugging enabled. I just get a "device not recognized" error on the PC. Only happened after I wiped it. No longer able to use odin on PC as normal. Lost custom recovery so no flashing SuperSu either. Tried flashing stock rom via stock recovery and get an "DM-Verity verification failed, update from external strage is disabled" error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

HELP- my OP3T not connecting to the PC

Hi all,
I have OP3T that just not recognized by my PC. I also have another OP3 that connects just fine to this PC. I tried dev menu and USB debug+ MTP, tried to wipe cache, install a new stock ROM downloaded from OP website, also installed the drivers in the PC.
device manager not shown anything when I connect the phone (no MTP device or Android device) and tried several cables and also another PC.
the phone was rooted until the last update (last December) and now I want to install custom ROM and I can't!
I think you want to fastboot flash a recovery?
What OS? Fastboot devices returns null?
yes, so I can install custom ROM eventually. my PC runs win 10 64X and right now my phone has stock android 8.0 (OOS).
what happens that when I connect my phone to the computer there is nothing going on- no now device in device manager and not a new driver pops, so I just can't flash recovery.
is there's an option to flash recovery without using the PC?

No generic MTP or Android device at all? On either PC, trying different ports (I know you said you tried multiple cables - which is good trouble shooting)? And no pop-up on the phone, allowing you to select MTP (move files, or whatever it says)?
If that I the case, I tend to think the USB port is damaged.

I've seen some folks package TWRP into a bootloader-flashable zip on other devices, but haven't seen anything like that on the 3T.
More importantly, I'd say it's very risky modding the phone with custom recovery and flashing a ROM, without having fastboot and adb tools available. You can get stuck in a real bad jam doing this, with tools to recover the device. I don't recommend it.
Yes I tried it all but there is no indication besides the device is charging while connected to the USB port.
OP support say that this might be the case, but I don't know if I want to replace it since my screen is cracked and it will brake it as soon as I open the phone

Pixel 4a 5G is longer recognized by any PC. Cannot data transfer or use ADB/Fastboot.

I bought a used Pixel 4a 5G in February and immediately rooted with no issues. A few weeks ago, I took the March OTA update and lost root. Since then, I can connect the phone to a PC via USB cable, and the phone flashes to show it's charging, but no USB preferences notification and nothing shows up on the PC. I've tried 3 different PCs and many cables, including two new Google Pixel cables. I've tried cleaning out the port. I've even factory reset the phone but nothing changes.
So I have several questions, and I'm hoping one of the bright people in here can help.
Does anyone know what is going on and how to fix it?
Is there anyway to use wireless ADB without first establishing an USB connection?
Is there any way to flash a modified boot image without ADB/fastboot or root?
Is there any way to boot to the inactive slot without root or USB connection so I could use Magisk to flash to inactive slot instead.
same here. still looking for solution
snap, dont you dare ask Google either, they just shut threads down
after months of trying I have found a possible solution (worked for me)
In device manager goto reinstall drivers but do not opt for automatic or browse my pc for files but opt for the list option (browse then list) then choose Android & you will find MTP, first option didnt work but second MTP did for me, my PC can now see my phone.
