Guys, my Le 2 screen cracked right on the proximity sensor, so now pocket mode is always enabled and i can't do anything. I can't reach Settings. Is there any other way to disable pocket mode via TWRP with a zip file or editing some file?
try factory resetting your phone.

Ok, i got it. Long pressed power button, the phone rebooted and for some reason pocket mode wasn't enabled for some time, so i managed to disable it.

I had the same problem! It helped disassemble the phone and disable loop voltage (when screen works)
So this is for my dad's phone. He dropped it and the screen and the LCD panel part busted so the whole screen is all black. Can't see a single thing on it. He got a new (read:refurbished) one so that's not an issue. I'm trying to use a screen mirroring program to factory reset the phone before he sends it back to Motorola. Issue seems to be those programs require USB debugging mode to be turned on but since the screen is all black, I can't do that. I even tried doing multiple screenshots and guessing where things were but it didn't work (worried the top of the phone's touch digitizer is busted too but i'm hoping for the best lol). So I need a way to turn on USB debug mode, with a totally black screen (touch still works), NOT ROOTED, so I can then mirror it with the MirrorGo or Vysor mirroring software so I can factory reset the device. If you have any thoughts for a simpler fix then I'm open to suggestions. I'm not tech savvy enough to do anything with Rooting and i'm not confident enough to try doing that with a busted phone (if it's even possible), so that's an option that's out too. :/

You can go into recovery mode and do the factory reset there, it's probably the easiest way to do it.

Yea, i tried that with the bootloader/fastboot thing. It didn't seem to work. I can barely tell if the device is even ON, only indication it's on is the volume rocker makes a noise to indicate volume and the bottom buttons light up. So being able to tell if the device is even IN it's bootloader mode thing was a crapshoot. I'm gonna need either a way to screen mirror in real time without debugging mode on, or a way to enable debug mode remotely essentially.
My P9 got a strange screen recently after a restart, only half of screen showing the UI (please refer to the attached photo). However, I am unable to unlock the phone (nothing happen when touching the screen). The most strange is, the phone can receive Email and phone calls but unable to make a call due to stuck in the same half screen. How to solve this problem?
I know there is nothing wrong with the hardware, just problem from the software side.
Try to force reboot by holding power button until it reboots
If persist, try going to default recovery and clear caches
Looks like the sensor.is. faulty
The screen looks like using the huawei flip cover
If you can access the settings then try to disable the flip cover settings,i just forgot where it is

I will try to use a magnet to see if there is sensor problem, thanks anyway
Like FiKsTyLeR said try rebooting the phone by holding the power button for 10 seconds. Whent this doesn't work boot into recovery and wipe cache.

Tried but the flip cover mode still exist.
I searched from internet that maybe the hall sensor is not working, possible to fix it?
What I want to do is copy all the files inside P9 to my computer.
If its a software problem and not hardware (like screen protector, broken sensor) you could try to simply roll back to marshmallow and update again to nougat.
Does the problem exist in fastboot mode, recovery, etc ?
please help my phone get power off and my power button is broken and i cant turn it on. after few try now its always enter to recovery mode but cant select any option dont have button try to connect pc but not reconigze in recovery mod thanks
You officially have a paper-weight now. Does anyone know if there is still a "USB JIG" option for the Note8 and the USB Type-C port?

yes and dont know what to because my screen is a little bit broken and they will charged me new screen for power button
The only way to go would be to change the motherboard, sorry, I always install some apps to reduce the use of the power button since day one, I use gravity screen to awake the screen, and invisible widgets to turn it off, and shortcutter to make a tile to call the power menu, so, I only use the power button to ACTUALLY power the device ON

Here it was, I thought I was being conservative by using fingerprint unlock to save a few presses on my power button.
I wonder if the OP has a saved alarm set to go off at a specific time. I then forgot that the alarm clock doesn't work when the phone is off.

In fact I even try to save presses on volume buttons via virtual button bar

^^^That is taking it too far now. I assume you use wireless charging to save your USB port, and SSH to access your phone remotely, to save your phone from screen burn-in?
Edit: then there is bluetooth speakers / headphones to save the built in speaker.
Hahahaha! Only the wireless charging part too!
i got mine to turn on by doing the downloazd mode, then plug in to a copmputer. it turns on and starts in download or upload or recovery mode, but i cant get it to restart and boot

Connect to pc to back your data up. Also does the touchscreen work? And did you drop your phone or something else?
the touchscreen doesn't work
debugging mode is not activated, I cannot transfer my data to the pc.
I had the touchscreen bug for some time and suddenly, the screen did not turn on. The phone did not fall.

If it still under warranty i would send it to where you bought it. Even if you dont have warranty try it because the device should not be broken under normal use.
keep pressing the power button and when your phone vibrates try and hit restart. i know your screen is blacked out but if possible just try and locate. it happened with me too and thankfully my devices' screen recovered. the pop up comes just adjacent to the power button. first option will be your power off and then just below will be your restart.
I already tried
the phone reboots well but still black screen
