Which root for Gingerbread XWJVI?

I would like to root my Samsung Galaxy S but i cannot find the right root file for my gingerbread xwjvi. I would like to afterwards flash to the new android 4. So it needs to work with clockworkmod.
I have look through this thread but not found any for XWJVI:

If you find the right root file, tell me please! I also need it!

Alright the root file is over here - link This works only if you are running Froyo(2.1)(Do this at ur own risk .Im not responsible if anything goes wrong!!!!)
You have to install this root file by booting into recovery and then installing the update.zip by selecting install update from sd card in the bootloader menu(I am assuming that u know how to do this but if you dont just post it)
By the way you can flash(install) android 4 custom ROM using the stock recovery too. Why do u wanna use CWM only to flash the ROM???

Actually you are right when you wonder why i only ask for the CWM.
What i actually want to do is to have the lastest stable android on the phone.
Then only thread i found about this stated to root and then use cwm.
If you know another way with the stock recovery instructions would be much appreciated.

Just Rooted my Samsung note Bore i install a new rom I want to back up my old rom.Build number is lo2 cant find the correct file to install clockwork mod file .Can anybody help ....I`m a novice to all this......

Hi,
I'm looking to root my i9000 galaxy s. Its running firmware version 2.3.6, Baseband I9000XXJW4. Ive tried rooting via SuperOneClick CF Root using Odin, But nothing is working! All i want is to root my phone! Please could someone help me, by providing me downloads and step by step or whatever you have to do to try to get my phone Rooted!

you can try other rooters on My Android collections link below, or it may be easier to just flash a semaphore or CF Root kernel with Odin to install superuser app on your phone

Hi, ive gone into your tooters on your profile and it just sends me to download links which i dont understand as im a 'noob'. Please could someone just send me to a thread or something or tell me what to do as its getting frustrating, ive followed tuts on youtube, on here ad nothing is working

Sorted out It was my drivers, they needed updating ive rooted and installec a custom rom :victory:

I want to root my S5570I. I checked the android development section, it said to install an app after going to recovery. My other phone is an Xperia X10, and the procedure was quite different..I used flashtool for that.
Could someone please explain how to install a recovery and root my phone?

Now welcome to Mini world.
Please refer to FAQ Thread. You don't need to install the recovery. There's a stock recovery pre-installed.
You just need to flash superuser .zip file to root it.

I am trying to root ddkq8 gb 2.3.6 on gt 5830. If anyone has the rooting package for ddkq8, please upload it. There are links that direct me to mediafire, but the file has been removed. I have tried all other rooting files including upd_1, acegingerroot, root, universal gb root, update3. None of them work. I have read others who have had success with that rooting package, but am not able to find the file. Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

Here's the solution for Rooting Galaxy Ace
[Guide] Know your Device: Galaxy Ace GT-S5830
Remember, it's for Cooper device, Not for Galaxy Ace-i (GT-S5830i)
First Install a custom recovery like CWM
Go to section, How to install ClockworkMod Recovery?
Then Root your device,
Go to section, How to ROOT your Galaxy Ace? (2.3.x)
