Hello,
Does any one know if Samsung has left the remote sim access profile out of the Note 8 (or only the duos?)
Been trying to connect my phone in my car and no success. Worked with S6, S7 edge and S8+.
Thanks,
Mark
Hmm not sure

I had a heck of a time connecting it to my Onkyo Receiver took half an hour, then it dropped the connection twice??? I haven't had this problem with Notes 5 & 4, an also the S7 Edge??
Stever
Hi Steven,
I have no general connection issues. It connects fine for handsfree and audio in my car.
Just sim access does not work. In this mode/profile the phone "shares" the SIM card with my car. Purpose is to use the cars media system and phone (online traffic, better call signal, WiFi hotspot etc.)
@markb74 did you get rsap working?
I have a VW Touareg that uses rsap protocol for hands-free and it cant see my note 8 when I try to connect a phone. Nor can the phone see the car...
On the manifest of the Bluetooth SIM Access App, I've read that for rSap to work, the phone must be rooted.
Did someone try if it's true?

Took forever to get it to pair with my Onkyo Receiver, then dropped the connection twice??
Just got my device yesterday, and I'm having issues as well. My Gear S3 keeps saying it's disconnected and will reconnect in a bit. Pretty annoying.

Annoying is putting it lightly, It seemed that my Gear S3 and the Onkyo Receiver are fighting for the BT connection??
For some reason this phone doesn't connect well with other Bluetooth devices nearby. I turned off 2 other Bluetooth devices inside the house and now the connection is good with my patio speaker.
No problems here. I always have my Gear S3 connected to the phone by BT, and often have a BT headset connected to the phone too.
I paired both my bt speakers yesterday and ran the dual audio from the phone for hours without issue.
Maybe the problem is device specific. I remember having the same issue with my note 7 and this BT adapter for my Onkyo receiver.
The only time my Gear S3 Frontier complains about being disconnected is when I'm out of range of the Note. The Note connects fine to my car ('14 BMW 535ix) and radar detector (can't have a BMW without one! :laugh, while remaining connected to my watch.
Yes, here also issues with connecting audio to car kit. Funny that I only noticed this after the first samsung oficial update.
It connects to the hands free phone, bit not to audio. Cleared Bluetooth system apps memory and cache and 8t worked again. Short time though. Problem is back again...
Now putting my hope on Samsung update.
Oh my gosh it's driving me crazy! One time BT stayed on 28 minutes. Usually it cuts off the call in 2-3 minutes!
Not sure what Note 8 types have BT issues, my N950U1 (SD), never has an issue. Maintains connection with Gear S2, always connects to car (audio and phone, Volvo XC60) and streams music and facilitates calls to wireless head buts/headphones. No hickups or disconnects whatsoever. Compared to Note 5 a huge improvement.
About 1 year ago I purchased a stereo for my car that allows me to connect via Bluetooth for music and phone calls. Everything had been working fine until about 2 weeks ago. My phone will connect to the stereo when I first start the car and will work as it should until the phone locks itself. It seems that the phone turns off Bluetooth when it locks. No new/additional apps have been installed in the past month or so. Although, the existing apps have been automatically updated during this time. Not sure if its relevant but the stereo is a Pioneer FH-X731BT; its an inexpensive head unit but I'm not sure that matters since it had worked fine for about a year.
A couple of tests I've tried;
1) Connect my S6 Active to a Bluetooth speaker and then stream from Pandora = seems to work OK, it doesn't stop when the phone locks
2) Connect my old Nexus 5 to my car stereo via Bluetooth and stream Pandora = seems to work OK, it doesn't stop when the phone locks
I don't understand how its possible to connect my S6 Active to a Bluetooth speaker and all is well but, when I connect it to my car stereo it stops playing music when the phone locks! And, I have tried multiple streaming resources as well as music that is stored on the phone with the same negative result.
It doesn't seem to be just a music playing issue; after the phone locks, phone calls are no longer directed through my stereo either.
I have no Task Killer app installed.

Please help if you can. Thanks!
SOLVED - Wipe phone and start over.
I use Remote Phone (https://justremotephone.com) for handeling calls at work. Remote Phone uses bluetooth handsfree profile for the purpose of controlling my phone from the laptop.
When my phone is connected to my laptop with Phone audio, Input device and Contact sharing enabled, it can only connect to my BT headset using Input device and Contact sharing.
When my phone is connected to my BT headset or a BT-speaker with handsfree-support (e.g. my car) with Phone audio, Input device and Contact sharing enabled, my smartwatch (Gear S3) looses Phone audio (or disconnects).
When my phone is connected to my smartwatch (Gear S3) with Phone audio, Input device and Contact sharing enabled, it often fails to register and automatically connect to other known devices.
It would seem that the N8 Sirocco can not connect to multiple devices using Phone audio profile.
I have sendt an e-mail to Nokia support addressing this issue, and will post the answer here.
I'm still on Android 8.0.0, and hopefully this is a SW-problem that is corrected in 8.1.
I'm guessing there is not so many N8 Sirocco owners out there yet, but of the few that is out there, has anyone else experienced similar BT handling issues?
This might not be a problem with the N8 Sirocco, but a problem with BT handling on the Gear S3.....
i have a major BT connection issues with my GEAR s3. It doesnt pair at all. the process gets stuck on the galaxy and stars moving around and saying setting up your device. Any help on how to connect my gear s3?
solution?

Hi MrMastodon. Did you solve the topic? As I have similar issue with Nokia 8 and car BT device + GPS BT tethering...
I completely forgot to follow up, it turns out that the Galaxy Gear is known for causing exceptionally bad Bluetooth-performance when paired with non Samsung devices.. I sold it.
Hey guys,
there is a feature cut in the Dual Audio functionality since Android 10. For most people, this might be not a big thing, but for people who are using dual audio while they workout, this feature cut might be very annoying.
The dual audio function of Android 8.x or 9.x was ablet to reconnect to both connected bluetooth speakers/headphones when the connection got lost, for example because the distance between the mobile phone and one of the headphones was to big or something like that. Also, when you switched on two paired bluetooth headsets, Android 8 and 9 was able to connect to both devices automatically.
Since Android 10, only one headset can connect automatically to the note 9. I always have to connect the second device manually. Once this is done and the connection to one of the two devices disconnects for some kind of reason, you have to reconnect the second device manually again.
One more annoying thing is, that when you are connected with bluetooth headset 1 to the mobile phone and activate bluetooth headset 2, the active connection will switch from headset 1 to headset 2, which means its possible to highjack the connection between note 9 and headset 1 with a paired device.
This is very annoying during a workout, because nobody wants to pause the workout to reconnect the second bluetooth device again, espacially if you are carrying the device during a run in a bag of your clothes, or a saddle bag, in you bag during a workout at the studio...
Are there any solutions to get the automatic functionality from Android 8 or 9 back? As far as i can see, this problem is also on all other samsung devices with android 10 and dual audio functionality. This issue came to alle devices since Android 10 with One UI 1.x.
This problem is adressed in the german samsung community forum, but till now, without a solution:

Hello,
I would like to know how can I answer a GSM call on a second phone ( AA connected w/o SIM) arrived from a primary phone with SIM using Bluetooth or WiFi hotspot made from the primary phone.
Phone A with SIM no AA connection
Phone B w/o SIM and connect to phone A via Bluetooth and/or WiFi hotspot.
I can find application tha make this possible using Windows, smartwatch, iPhone... But not with android..
Phone A oppo reno 2z android 11
Phone B honor 9 with AA mirror, connected AA and using phone A WiFi hotspot.
Thx.
Ps. Sorry for bad English..
Phone A should be connected to the car's bluetooth and phone B should not be connected to the car's bluetooth. That way you could use the hands-free.
Can't do that. If you connect a cable via USB to AA you can't use Bluetooth for voice call. But today, after a lot of days I find a way to bypass the problem, now I can use my first phone to call/receive call using the car and my second rooted phone with AA to watch Netflix, use Spotify and so on. If someone is interested I can post my car/phone configuration
