I purchased a case and cut the areas around the power, headphone ports in order for it to rest in the DEX. Are there any cases made that will dock properly. Since I cut mine it works but the edges and starting to get week on the bottom.
Wonder if one could use a USB-C extension cable to be used with any case really? =
That's one solution. However the point of a dock is defeated somewhat.
I saw a youtube video where the guy says the Samsung case is open on the bottom. I can't find the original Sammy case.

I have my case coming in tomorrow so I expect a similar issue on my end so I ordered an extension cable for mine. I will report back on how it works once it comes in. I am not too worried about it being "docked" in a sense, I care about the functionality.

Make sure the cable you ordered says it will work with the DEX dock. The adaptor I ordered specifically says it's a extension for the DEX.
So did a quick run with the cable that I ordered and it all seems to work perfectly.

I understand Pleomax makes accessories for Samsung, but this is definitely a Universal car dock, probably this one: http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/ECS-K200BEGSTA
Advertising it as a Genuine Samsung Note 2 car dock is misleading.

I highly doubt it since there is no micro USB integrated into it. It's just a piece of plastic so your phone doesn't know it's in it.
Just put an NFC tag on the dock. When you insert it, it will do whatever you programmed it to do.
That dock looks like any ordinary eBay generic piece of plastic, BTW. Nothing special about it, IMO. I have a generic squeeze handle one and it works great with any case. The one in the OP looks to only work naked. Not worth the hassle, IMO.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering since some phone and dock doesn't need to be connected to switch, which confused me on how does the docking work. Anyway I have some NFC tags but so far the is no good app to automatically enable the driving mode without starting S Voice. I tried tasker and I can configure it to switch to the car mode (the icon appeats) but it doesn't enable driving mode (the one which enable the phone to read out events).

Maybe post a link I couldn't find that SKU on there. Wireless charging is as simple as copper foil tape (or I preferred solder iron) and hooking up with the palm touchstone or the powermat kit (I preferred the powermat because the touchstone wouldn't charge through my platinum series case from Best Buy and the powermat works amazing!)

just tried my metrans mwt-02 with a flip back cover (thicker than stock) and The Guardian G2 supplement (24 newspaper pages) between it and the charger and it works ok :thumbup:

Just to let you know that I tried my LG G2 in my Nexus 4 Brodit Car mount (with bumper size) and it fits with smart/case and charges.
Might come in handy if you've switched from a Nexus 4 and save you some £'s

Hi, I've only tried it with the flip case on and it fits very snuggly in. I imagine without the case will work fine but will test later.
As the micro USB port is central charges fine s well.
I haven't modified anything to make this work.
Stuck an NFC sticker on the holder and Torque kicks in every time the phone is mounted

The nexus 4 mount came in 2 sizes, one for use with a bumper and one without. Mine was the with bumper size.

The G2 fits very tightly with the flip case and is a bit wobbly with no case but it won't fall out etc

LG G2 Official Quick Window + Brodit Nexus4 with bumber version : All fits well. The case opened allows when in the brodit support to charge and see your Full screen without any issue (if you accept to take 30 secs to take care of the power supply connector when inserting the phone in the support)

I am visiting Taipei at the moment and was able to purchase the official TF701 case direct from Asus. This case does add a little thickness to the tablet. Unlike the older covers, it is not using the bottom slots. Instead a semi transparent hard plastic back cover snaps in place protecting the entire tablet. All openings align perfectly, power and volume buttons feel responsive. As seem in the picture, you have to open the front cover to charge the tablet, there are no openings on the bottom of the case when closed. Aside from the little added weight and thickness, I am liking the case. One thing to point out is that the case does enable the auto screen on/off function. Screen on somehow takes a while and is not instantaneous, most of you are already experiencing this even without the case.

Yes it is an Asus product - it's listed on their site as well. You have to remove it to use the dock.

No it's a *****! Found doing 2 sides (shorts sides) helps but it doesn't want to come off very easily at all.
Old dock for HTC one work with this years?
I'd love to know if there's a dock option too. My HTC Evo 4G LTE has gotten me spoiled with a simple drop in dock. Would love to have a similar dock for this phone.

Actually, that's not entirely true.
For my m7 I used an EZO cradle/dock that came with a plate which fit inside the dock. When the plate is removed it allows for a case to be used on the phone.
It actually worked quite well for a variety of my cases.

I hope they updated it to fix some issues. with the same style HTC dock on the M7, phone would slide out of the dock easily. slid out many times on the first day, gave it away day 2.

My dock came in today. doesnt work unless you want to stare at the back of your phone. USB is backwards and says samsung on the box
