Hi, I need to downgrade from kitkat to gingerbread in order to make Barclays pingit work. I tried many things but the damn app to my disgust won't work on rooted phones. Is it just a matter of using ODIN? And which gingerbread ROM should I use? Can you please send me some links thanks! :crying:
Have you tried temporary unrooting from the superSU/Superuser options then installing the app.

Hi, thanks for the reply, when I install SuperSU it tells me I need to update binary SU by doing a manual Re-root? What does it mean?
Just flash this in recovery http://download.chainfire.eu/370/Sup...erSU-v1.80.zip download link is at bottom of page.
EDIT: here's the latest update at bottom of page http://download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU/
Thank you, I flashed it, went to SuperSu, did the full un-root, it worked as the app disappeared but the damn Barclays app still finds the root and wont work...is there any other way around it? Or downgrading...
Found this but you need to install the 'Xposed Framework'' http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2577095
Thanks but I've already downgraded to stock rom, did what I had to do with Barclays Pingit and re upgraded to kitkat again...now I won't be doing this crap anymore, I will just buy a cheap 2nd hand mob, install the almighty Barclays apps and use that when needed...easy...:cyclops:
Yeah probably a better idea until the almighty Barclays app gets an update so customers can use it on rooted phone, but tbh i can't see that happening anytime soon.

You could install xposed and use root cloak. Apps that don't work if you have root are just stupid.
Hi guys, I wanted to get Brazilian Portuguese language at my AT&T Galaxy S5 so I got root access (Supersu said that Knox was disabled) and installed SafeStrap Recovery.
Everything worked fine then I flashed the Stock International from the International Forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2761682. It works fine but I think it tripped Knox and I keep getting a message asking me to reboot.
Now Supersu cant disable Knox.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
Thanks in advance and sorry about my bad English

How exactly? Can I remove it?
Titanium backup pro. Not sure if you can remove it safely. I tried a couple of times and the system wouldn't boot up. Just the Samsung and at&t logo. Flashed the stock files to get it running again. Didn't remove anything this time, just froze a bunch of apps. I am familiar with removing stock apps on Sprint phones but not when it comes to safestrap. I watched the install video but I'm missing something apparently.
Unfortunately I discovered that after I flashed the International rom my phone is not rooted. Although I have installed towelroot and it said it worked it doesn't. Anyone can help me to root it?

If you did not flash the bootloader, you could try this guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53454972&postcount=1
Then re-root afterwards.
If the bootloader was flashed, then you may be out of luck.
Hey everyone. I am not new at rooting phones but this appears to be the one phone that is giving me issues.
My note 4 is telus, was n910w
installed this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/rom-vision-x-n4-intl-t2943448
working beautifully thus far but I cant seem to root....
I have tripped KNOX 5 times so far trying to do it, each time it appears my phone is not rooted as titanium cannot verify SU, and aswell I have a root checker which tells me it is not rooted.
I have tried several versions of ODIN, and cf auto root n910t, AND V.
Do I maybe have to reinstall my rom? Or is there something I am missing because this is frustrating me....
Is there something I am doing wrong? Superuser IS on my phone, but its not doing anything but being there.... Please any kind of help would be appreciated as I am stumped.
I'm not sure what rom you are running but I do know there were some issues with su and lollipop in the beginning that required you to go into superuser app setting 's and change from prompt for root to allow all requests. For some reason it wouldn't prompt for root for root apps. But if you changed it it would auto.atically allow root apps root access

This worked, I am a dummy lol
Thanks alot!
Glad I could help
Glad you got it worked out but note that you can only ever trip Knox once. Once it's tripped it's tripped, so don't worry about it.

Is there any program for rooted or non rooted that can show what is installing apps without permission. I have tried . All in one tool. Force stop it and a couple others but still no luck. Any ideas on how I can figure out how to stop the installs.
New to posting on a forum so any questions or info u might need to help. I will do my best. Thanks in advance

How did you root? Do you have a link to the app/tool you used?
If you used a one click root tool, that could be a problem.
thread how to root
Hi guys,
I am using my 1+5T for almost 2.5+ yrs now and since beginning i rooted the mobile for trying new custom ROM's, installing substratum themes, ad blocking etc etc.
Now many banking/payment related apps, maadhar, etc are showing as my phone is rooted. Magisk HIDE is not helping anymore.
So, i uninstalled magisk root and still my OEM is unlocked. all the previous apps shows similar message as my mobile is rooted.
How should i completely unroot my mobile without leaving any trace so that these apps doesn't show rooted messages again ?
Any Idea ?
NOTE: Previously i completely unrooted my mobile & still many apps shows rooted so got to root my mobile and used magisk HIDE .....

As long as your bootloader is unlocked, they will report your device as rooted. If Magisk Hide alone doesn't work, try the "Repackage Magisk Manager" option in Magisk Manager settings. It works for me.

I unrooted my mobile but still magisk manager was installed so apps showed message "my phone is rooted". After that i uninstalled magisk manager and all apps started working fine.
Now i am unrooted but my bootloader is unlock.
Well, I still have that same problem. But only from Samsung Pass with an actual message box, which says that my device is rooted so can't use the app for security reasons.
I rooted my Galaxy S20 FE 5G SM-G781B with Magisk and afterwards uninstalled it with the Complete Uninstall method, but after automatic boot, that procedure only gave me some weird errors and I couldn't boot the phone.
It got stuck to this error filled download mode screen. There I saw an option to lock the bootloader back. Well, did that but then my phone got itself into a boot loop!
I managed to get to the download mode (in between the loops) and then it became even more errored and with all red alert stuff there!
Thought I bricked the whole damn device which I only bought like two weeks earlier rip.
Well then after some google fun time I downloaded original stock firmware to odin it. Well, nothing worked and always failed!
Then afterwards it became to my attention to try to flash the firmware that I originally flashed just before installing Magisk.
Heck yeaaah that actually worked lol and all bank stuff works and even software update and I now have all the newest updates etc and Magisk and Root Checker shows no root and then I removed Magisk for good and rebooted the phone to check any surprises.
No surprises and everything works, EXCEPT Paypal app and Samsung Pass!
Paypal just says after trying to log in "Please check your information and try again", but Samsung Pass actually says that "Your device has been rooted. Samsung Pass cannot be used on rooted devices for security reasons."
So what the heck!
I hate myself for rooting the new phone for nothing and now my ocd suffers for having that stupid whatever error stuff there, especially since I actullay USE Samsung Pass and Paypal!
EVERYTHING else works just fine, but not those two!
Grrr!
So all you wise people, can I actually do something about this or not??
Cheers!
@Hopeasilmu I would expect that the Samsung apps will now be complaining since you probably tripped the Knox fuse when you unlocked the bootloader and rooted the device. Once that's tripped you can't get it back...
If you need more info on Knox there's plenty available both here on XDA (check the Samsung forums) and on the web in general.

You can still lock the boot loader. There is a way. I did that on my Samsung M31 however I cannot recall the steps.
