What is the fastest/lighweit/stable ROM for I9070 right now? I prefer standard features like mobile data, wifi, normal dialing etc.

Hi guys,
I've just installed Darky's 9.5 Extreme (Dark core kernel, no lag fix). I have some question (if you have time and you are in the mood to answer maybe silly questions ):
- the phone doesn't seem to be faster than with 2.2.1 (JPY) previously installed. I have 170+ apps installed
- I've installed the ROM using CWM. As I understood initially it wiped all existing system data, except for installed applications.
- the phone lags sometime. Shouldn't this be the fastest rom ever?
- when I have the browser open and browse 10 minutes the home launcher restarts (Zeam, Xperia Arc, GO Launcher EX, TWLauncher).
- I cannot select text anymore in the browser
- the touchscreen responsiveness seems to be degraded. And mostly it impacts the browser.
Should I do something more to get a smoother experience? Your answers will be much appreciated
I installed the v9.5 and according to me it is no where near as stable or as smooth as the v8.0...
I went back to 8.0 in half a day..
I would suggest you try that too if you don't have the need to be on the latest rom..
About the issues you pointed out I can add to that lost of bugs and issues but it is what it is..
It's not the device but the rom..
Have only ever flashed darky's rom so all I can say is v8.0 is the best for stable no nonsense usage..
If there is anything specific you would like to ask please do so..

If I wan't to make a clean install of 9.5 what should I do? Go into Darky's Rom Configurator and select Wipe the device? Is this enough? And after that reapply the ROM using CWM?
I think you are supposed to update your PDA to XWJS8 as well
Worked for me,
Good luck,
Nitro
What i was trying to put across was that for some reason the majority of problems on this forum are headed Darky rom lesson in itself i would have thought .
Nothing against the guy but help for his users does not seem to exist within his own pages .
Why so many post with problems i dont know but their is a user choice try another developers rom .

Hello! I have put a custom ROM on my HTC Desire HD (I am in the right place keep reading) and it was easy!
I put a custom rom on my friends Galaxy S, that was more complicated but worked! (I think I put on Gingerbread ROM? I'm not sure...)
But he can't connect to his service providers internet and can't use bluetooth...
Now I have no idea what to do... One thing I thought of doing is asking here for what the best ROM for the Galaxy S is? (Just general tweaks, speed boosts whatever)
AND I would like to know if I can use ROM Manager to simply install new roms like I do with my DHD
Thanks for any help!
No best rom its user choice .
Suggest rom kitchen .

No connection means wrong Modem and or CSC files flashed that is for a different continent enter APN details manually .
Check details on FAQs for custom rom you installed .

The best rom i have used is Darkys 9.5 stable with Darkys Dark Core 1.4.... best battery/speed combo of all rom i have used!!!!!
Check your mates APN settings for his Data/internet
(menu > settings > wireless and network > mobile networks > access point names)
if these settings are blank... he will have no internet/data conection.

Well I know we have no data connection but still, if we find its empty. What do we fill it with?
Woo! Solved the problems!!
I just wiped the whole thing, stuck on Darkys 9.5. (Thank you *Decimus*)
That fixed the Bluetooth then I just changed the access point. (This didn't work on the other ROM)

I don't think it makes any difference which custom rom you use.
I used to have rocket. Tried darky for like a day or two. Now I am on Checkrom. Never had any problem with any of them.
It is always recommended to do a back up of all your apps and data with something like titanium and do a complete wipe before installing any new rom.
I personally use CWM for installing new roms. I am guessing that you have rooted your phone?
Could you let me know the best ROM to use which gives me very good theme and good battery life.
I have recently...... after several days of stress and temporarily thinking I was stuck with a very expensive paper weight..... successfully rooted my SM-G920T w/ CF auto root & flashed Tyrannus ROM & Unikernel for S6 w/ TWRP recovery. I am really liking this ROM, however, I just noticed today that it does not include the native Wifi calling features that were on the stock SM-G920T ROM. With T-Mobile's Wifi calling you can send regular SMS messages & make regular calls over Wifi w/ no cell service, it's an extremely convenient feature. Is there a way to keep running this custom ROM and enable the Wifi calling feature? If not, will the developer of the Tyrannus ROM please include in next update if possible, if it doesn't require stock kernel. I hope I don't have to revert to stock to have this feature. Thanks to the developers for all your hard work, much appreciation.
I think you better post this on Tyrannus rom forum to get the answer faster.
Wifi calling is for Tmo. Based so it will be hard to put on International rom.
The Tyrannus ROM is built to support multiple variants of the S6 (G920/G925 F/I/S/K/L/T/W8), not just the 920T variant. If you want a ROM with WiFi calling, flash a ROM made for the 920T specifically from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s6/development
I've used Sow Nice rom for quite some time with WiFi calling and it works quite well, I believe it is one of the only custom roms that works with T-mobile's WiFi calling

You wont lock the device with flashing the ROM. Close to stock ROM would be Badboys ROM.
Reminder - you asked this question in a wrong thread. It should go into Q&A section.
If you're using this for CDMA, I'd recommend the MIUI ROM. Despite being an iOS lookalike, that is the only ROM that will show you the signals separately for 1x and EVDO.

I rooted stock 5.0.2 and used Titanium Backup to remove everything stock that I don't have any use for. Messaging (use Hangouts) BlinkFeed (replaced with SLauncher) Music (replaced with CM 12 Music/added Viper4Android) Live Wallpapers (who even uses these things?!)...literally everything that has an icon in the app drawer gone. Exceptions are calculator, camera , calender, clock, downloads and gallery. Everything else I have a preferred replacement.
If you want even LESS to worry about, you can't go wrong with stock Cyanogenmod + Pico Gapps. No bogus/worthless features, no bloat, 4g connectivity, and best of all SUPER lightweight. The Nike of roms...just do it!
